Hmmm, okay. I think this fic would benefit from an AU label. You have changed the characters SO MUCH. I'm not sure what changing their backgrounds would really provide to the story... the changed backgrounds have no real significance and it seems to suggest more that you didn't know what they were and just decided to "change" them for your fic - ie make them up. Additionally, Murdoc and 2-D are REALLY out of character here, it seems like you've done a role-reversal on them. 2-D is masochistic? The boy is addicted to painkillers in an effort to get rid of simple headaches! And Murdoc, the last person I think he'd show a sensitive side to is 2-D.

Don't get me wrong, this fic is great, it just doesn't seem to fit with canon at all. I'm not saying this to insult you, I'm just saying that to me -- and other fans I showed your fic to -- you changed the characters so much that they weren't even the Gorillaz anymore. The story and writing is good. It's just those few things that REALLY detracted from it.

Actually, if you went through and switched every time you typed "Murdoc" to "2-D" and vice versa, and took out the pointless change in backgrounds, everything would be fine again. Then this fic would deserve the 5 stars it's been rated. Otherwise, this should be marked as an AU, since it's deviated so much from canon.
