Wow, this story gives me a sense as if the authors life experience had a role in telling this story. I felt as if it were I seeing through the characters eyes every scene. I was drawn and held in place by every word only to be eagerly reading forward. I felt as if I was this character. As Iit were eye being drawn to the sexual deviant delight. Yet I was repulsed at the same time. The character seems to feel compelled towards the darker things yet yearns to rid himself of such thoughts. And as he looked into the boys eyes to say I am sorry for you, it's almost like it was a mirror for which he was wanting to forgive himself.
