frogot to mention this:
"Carrie was smart in ways that she wasn’t. She had barely finished college because she had always been more into music, so school hadn’t been a priority to her. Music was probably the best thing in her life, instead of using her communications degree to find some media related job, she worked at a record store just to be around music when she was away from the band.
Carrie took all sorts of mathematical classes and did well in them, and while she certainly wouldn’t ever take the courses herself, she found that side of Carrie attractive.°
and also this:
"They didn’t always agree on subjects, but that was what made t
heir conversations fun, getting each other to see both sides. Plus, Carrie could also listen to her complain about her sister, or about some random customer that tried to ask for a record that didn’t exist,"
great writing!

that was damn good!!
especially this:
"She loved to tease Kelly about being short, since it was one of the few ways she could flirt with the older girl in front of everyone. Kelly teased her back; there wasn’t a time that went by when she teased Kelly about being short, that Kelly didn’t point out that she was only five-three, not more than a couple inches taller than Kelly. For the most part though, their flirting consisted of lingering glances and amused smiles when the other was caught looking. Their flirting never led to anything serious; however, she was positive that Kelly liked her too. She had subtly asked Kelly out once, and the other girl had said yes before backtracking and turning her down in the kindest way possible, a way that only Kelly could pull off without seeming like a jerk. On more than one occasion when the band had drank together, they had openly flirted, dropped all pretense because of their feelings and the drinks. Carrie thought the problem was the band."

This is insane. I'm gonna run outta things to say to you people. Not that I'm complaining because I could never object to something this wonderful. Yea, I'm in love with this AU already. 'Cause honestly, the idea of Carrie as drummer is really hot and the fact that Kelly's the lead singer and they're in a band, together. Well it gives me all sorts of happy. Can already tell you're probably gonna be playing with their sexual tension a lot. Hope you continue this though, AU's are fun to read.

Great start. I like the angle U are using w/ this fic. They aren't famous yet-just both in the same band. I am interested in reading more. Don't stop now-please continue.

I really like this so far. I love the whole setting you've created, with the band background and everything. The way you write Kelly and Carrie is very believable, I can picture it in my head. I cannot wait to see how they deal with their feelings and the band. Update soon.
