Give back his wings so he can fly
Chapter 1 *Weeks earlier…*
“Come on, open it!” she squealed, “You’ll love it! Hurry up.” If I didn’t know any better, I’d have thought Becca was just as excited as I was about my birthday gift. I was having a hard time trying to figure out what could be so exciting about an ordinary card, besides having it filled with money. So, going slow just to torture her, I opened the envelope and pulled out the card. I read the front and laughed my ass off. Another one of hemoromorous cards! “The real gift is inside.” I opened the card up and there were two tickets, one was a plane ticket, the other, well let’s just say I about died when I saw what it was.
“Becca! How? Why? When? Gah…. EEEEEPPPPP!!!! I love you, Bec! Really, I do! You got me a ticket to a Rasmus show in England! You don’t even like them.” I screamed and pulled her into a big hug, jumping up and down all the while. I was going to a TR show! In England, no, LONDON! How cool was that!
“You know I hate them, but I was looking for a gift on ebay and did a random search for some bands you liked. I saw just the one and had to buy it for you. I know how you love their music. The plane ticket is actually from your mom. Sorry, but I couldn’t drop that much money for your 19th.” She said, jokingly.
“Oh my gods, I think I’m gonna die! I’m really going? Really? Hey, this is for the 25th. That’s only a few weeks away. Ack, I don’t think I can wait that long!” I needed to shut up. I was starting to sound like a fangirl. That wasn’t good. I shouldn’t be this obsessed over a band. Well, it was more for their music. Yeah, I know, most girls would die to see The Rasmus in concert because of the band members, but the music is what it was about with me. The first time I heard the lyrics to “Funeral Song” I cried, literally cried. It was so hauntingly sad, and tied with that melody. Oh, it was great. And “Someone Else” was my life in verse. It was, and still is, my favorite TR song. The cute band members were merely a plus.
“Your mom thought you needed a vacation, so she bought the plane ticket for a week early. You’re so lucky, Ivy! A whole week in London. Wow, I wish I could go, but money’s kinda tight. And besides, what would I do the whole night you would be at the concert?!”
