Everything I Own

Doris and Amber were driving down the road heading towards Tampa FL. They were going to see their 5 best friends, who also happened to be better known as NSYNC. They were listening to music and talking about all the times they had spent together with them. "Doris, can you believe how long we've known the guys? I mean 3 years is a pretty long time" "Yeah I know. God, it just seems hard to believe. I mean its just by chance we had met them, I mean if you hadn’t had that shopping spree you had to go on then we would have never been at the mall to see their concert”. Amber laughed and said, “And to think you complained most of that day that I wanted to go and I was dragging you along with me and look what happened, we saw a great concert, met some great guys who have turned out to be our best friends oh and we cant forget the great sales I found that day too”. Doris kept her eyes on the road as she drove and laughed, “Yeah yeah, yeah ok so it was a good day ok. God, they’ve grown so much since then, they were all so tiny then and noone knew who they were or nothing” “Well, they certainly know who they are now. Oh Doris, do you remember the time when we all went to Justin’s house to hang out and he like disappeared and then all of a sudden we heard ‘Like A Virgin’ and Justin came out dressed to the max as Madonna singing to it?” “Oh my god how could I not forget that? And how about the time when lance decided to take a nap and we all snuck in there while I put whip cream on his hand and tickled his face with a feather until he slapped his face and got whip cream all over him” Amber laughed hard, “Yeah that was good but it’ll never make up for the best birthday we ever had when JC wrote us that sweet birthday song for us and then sang it at our birthday. I swear I almost cried” “You almost cried? Girl, I was bawling” Amber laughed and then they both said at the same time, “Oh god Joey and Chris” and started laughing harder. Amber laughed so hard it brought tears to her eyes. “God Doris when we went to that Halloween party I thought it was bad enough that they dressed up as Sonny and Cher but when they got up to do karaoke and sang ‘I got you babe’ now that was the best” “Yes it was. Oh man good thing I had just gone to the bathroom when I walked out and saw that or I would have peed all over the floor” Amber laughed, “Oh yeah I know the feeling”.

She looked up and saw the signs for Tampa. “Ok were almost there, i'm gonna call the guys now and see if they want us to meet them at the hotel or the arena” “Ok” said Doris. Amber leaned forward and started dialing the number on their dashboard speakerphone. “Hello road kill café you kill em we grill em Justin speaking” Amber laughed, “Oh god hi Justin” “Oh hey Amber where are ya guys?” “Well were about 20 min from you guys but um do you want us to meet you at the hotel or the arena? Am I on speaker phone with you guys?” Justin laughed, “Yep you sure are. Hey say hi guys” All the guys scream "Hi” in to the speaker. “Um hi guys. Ok now that Im deaf where are we meeting you huh?” “Well it’s early yet so why don’t you just come to the hotel. We can chill for a bit and then head down to the arena” “Ok that sounds great. We should be there in about 20 min”. All of a sudden out of nowhere a car came and crashed into Amber and Doris’ car extremely hard causing their car to spin around and flip and land on the roof. All the guys could hear was screaming and the sound of metal crashing and then the dead silence of the phone. All the guys gathered around the phone nervously, “Amber? Doris? Please answer me you there?” JC stood up, “Ok guys we gotta get to the hospital, there’s no point in going down to the site of the accident because by the time we get there they will already have left for the hospital”. All the guys agreed and rushed down to the limo and ordered the driver to take them to the hospital and to step on it.


They arrived at the hospital and went inside and started pacing around until the doors in the ER flew open with 1 stretcher, the one with Doris on it, who seemed to just be cut up badly but awake. All the guys rushed over to her flooding her with a thousand questions, “are you ok? Does it hurt? Can we do anything?” and the questions went on and on. Finally another ambulance pulled up and the doors flew open and they brought Amber out on a stretcher with a guy on top of her trying to revive her. The guy was shouting orders and screaming, “Were losing here come on”. Chris and Justin rushed over to Amber almost in tears. Justin looked at her scared and shaking, “Come on Amber you have to be ok”. They rushed Amber and Doris past them into the ER and the door shut in the guys faces. In the ER they worked on Amber and Doris quickly. About 2 hours later, a nurse came out and said they were in a room now and that they could go see them. JC looked up, “Well how are they?” The nurse explained, “Well Doris came in ok, just cuts and bruises but while she was in the ER she passed out from hyperventilating and Amber, well she’s the one who’s worse off, she came in with very shallow breathing and her heart rate kept dropping a lot but we were able to stabilize her, but these next 24 hours are very crucial, were not sure if she’s gonna make it” The guys all had tears in their eyes thinking about their friends. The nurse led them to their rooms, which were right next to each other. They went into see Doris first who was still out cold, then they went to see Amber who had a bunch of tubes coming from her. JC finally spoke up and said, “Come on guys we gottta go do our concert” Joey looked up, “Aw do we have to? I don’t wanna leave them” “Yes we have to, this is the last one of the tour. Amber and Doris would have wanted it this way” The guys agreed and left the room and went back to the arena and they all slowly got dressed and went out and did their show not putting as much effort into it as they usually do.
