Let My Savage In
The snow crunched under Joey's feet as he and Satyr made their way up the winding road. Joey sighed wishing that the driver hadn't stopped several miles back forcing them to walk.
He watched as Satyr moved ahead of him, making his way through the virtually untouched snow with ease. "So why aren't we walking on the road?" He asked curious as to why they were walking along the side through the knee deep snow. "The road is unpaved and treacherous, we are safer to walk along the side." Satyr said unsmiling. He found the large Norwegians demeanor rather unnerving as all through Oslo he had been in good spirits smiling and laughing as they traveled through the bustling northern city. Now as they made their trek up the side of the mountain a more serious almost nervous mood washed over his features, giving him an intimidating aura.
He was hoping that Gaahl wasn't nearly as terrifying as all the rumors had claimed. If he really was the small drummer would be in serious trouble as the truck that had driven them up the side of the mountain would not return for several days. He felt a lump in his throat as they rounded a turn and before them were several homes scattered along the road.
"We're here." Satyr said simply as they continued their trek along the mountain road. Little did the two know that a pair of violet eyes were watching them intently from the shadows of the thick woods along the left side of the wide dirt path. The sound of a branch breaking pulled Joey from his thoughts with a start and he looked around frantically for whatever could have made the noise. Satyr placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and chuckled. "Whatever is hiding in those woods, are the least of your worries." He removed his large hand from the smaller musicians shoulder and motioned for him to continue.
He knew that his friend was hiding something, but he couldn't figure out what it was.
