Deicide
Deicide
Before all else there was only chaos, dark, and nothing. One day, chaos and nothing collided and from this appeared order, light, and love. From this Ocobi and the fates Vari and Chelle were created. Ocobi lay with both fates and from his union with Vari the earth and sky were born; from his union with Chelle the four gods were created.
Tama’s birth quaked the earth and the sun hid behind the moon in fear casting darkness during the day and he was borne of chaos and darkness. Airn came into being from a geyser of fire and melted earth spewed from an angry mountain. Jolimi sprouted from the soil like a grapevine. Zaksha was borne of love and drifted down to earth as light and little more. Upon touching the ground the barren earth erupted with fertile life and he was given the form of man.
Ocobi was fearful of the gods for the fates had prophesied his blood would strike him from his throne. To avoid fate Ocobi hurled each of the newborn gods into the chaos that still surrounded the earth and sky. In the darkness Zaksha’s wings left glowing trails of light as he spun aimlessly and the stars were born.
Unhappy with Ocobi’s treatment of her offspring Chelle cried for three days and nights and her tears and made the ocean. Vari refused to ignore her sister when she was so upset and reached deep into the chaos and plucked Tama out. Together they planned how they would return the other gods to Chelle. Ocobi discovered them and in a rage tried to attack Vari but Tama raised his own sword and cut him down from his blood the underworld was created. Hearing the noise of the battle Chelle ran over and when she saw Tama was so overcome with joy she lay with him and from their union Jolin was born.
Vari again reached into the chaos and one by one pulled the gods out. Chelle lay with each of them and from her union with Jolimi wine was born, from Zaksha came music, and from Airn came animals.
The gods lived happily for centuries until one day Zaksha became tired of his brothers’ company and pleaded with his mother to give them more companions. Unable to resist the simple request Chelle and Vari collected the four elements; unpredictable and violent fire, steady and true earth, whimsical air, and calm water and mixed them together and from this man was born.
Since the elements were constantly at war within man though they did not live like the gods and within a few decades they died but not before creating more and more. Vari and Chelle were displeased with the shortness of life within their creation and sought to destroy them but Zaksha stopped them. Vari and Chelle then tasked him then with collecting the souls of the deceased mortals and ferrying them to the underworld where the elements would rejoin and mix and be born again.

A/n: Props to the ancients man. I spent like two hours trying to work this thing out and it’s not even half the length of the Greek creation myth. Power to our ancestors, for real.
Anyway! I hope you’re at least a tinsy bit intrigued. =) Thank you for reading and reviewing!
