Lunch and Details
A/N: Okay, so I might actually have another chapter up after this one today. Wow! My plot bunnies are on some serious crack it seems. Thank you to all of my readers! *big hugs* And, Little_Miss_ Disaster, you aren't a dick for not reviewing before, it happens (I'm guilty of it as well, just plain laziness on my part). Also I know that "Golden" is not FOB's next single, but I couldn't resist using my favorit song from the new album for the video. Thus all the ideas and such for the "video" that Becca will be directing come from me and my plot bunnies, even though I do not own the song or any possible videos that might come afterwards. So now on to the chapter ... and off to let my plot bunnies run free a little more! :)

Rebecca stumbled down the stairs and into the kitchen, now showered and dressed. She smiled and walked over giving her mother a kiss on the cheek, hopefully not in too much trouble for sleeping most of the day away, as she was normally up at least by eleven every day. She walked to the refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of flavored water and walked over sitting down at the table, where lunch was laid out, with a special plate already prepared for her. So it seemed that her mom wasn’t upset with her.
“Thanks, Mom. And sorry I slept in.”
“Oh it’s okay, Rebecca. Peter told me that he had went to check on you and that you were sleeping off a headache. Is it better now?”
Rebecca made a mental note to thank her brother for that bit of help later. She nodded and took a few more drinks of the water to try and get more woke up and ready for the day. After all, she still had to hear what Pete had to say about the video. Hopefully it would at least be a decent song to work with.
“Hey, Dad. What are you up to today? Anything exciting? Or is it another benefit night?”
“Not a benefit, but your father and I were invited to help with the planning and such of Marla Rampoli’s wedding. You remember Marla, right? Your old friend from around the corner who you used to run around with all the time? So we’re going over to Shane and Ginny’s house for the day. We didn’t think that you would mind. And Peter mentioned something about you two already having plans for the day.”
Rebecca smirked at her dad as he sat down at the table, not getting to answer for himself. She was barely able to keep from giggling as he rolled his eyes playfully giving his daughter a quick wink. Rebecca had always been a bit of a daddy’s girl, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Besides, it served to balance out the scales with Petey favoring their mom.
“Yeah, I remember Marla. I didn’t know she was even engaged though. When’s the wedding?”
“Oh, it’s in a few weeks. I’m sure that you’re on the invitation list. They just haven’t agreed to a design yet, so the invitations haven’t been sent out yet. Peter! Lunch time!”
“I’m right here, Mom. It’s not like you have to yell across the entire house just for lunch. I could smell it and was coming regardless.”
After they had finished their meal, Rebecca waved her parents off turning back to her brother with a raised eyebrow. She was thankful that he hadn’t told their parents that she slept the day away because she had a hangover, but was now wondering what the stipulations were for their video, as she was sure he had in his own way bargained her work on it.
“What?”
“Oh come off it, Petey. You know what. Help me clean up here and you can tell me all about the video proposition. First, what song is it? I’ll put it on while we clean so I can start getting a feel for it.”
“So you’re going to do it? I knew you couldn’t resist, Becca.” Pete wrapped his arms around her with his normal goofy grin on his face. “Well the song is ‘Golden’ and as to the stipulations, there aren’t many. MTV is wanting in on this one again, so that gives you some added funding. Also we have a deal with a few products, so you have pretty much free reign with funds, provided that you have some promotion of the products.”
“My favorite song too, is that why you asked?”
“Partially. Well, that and Mom said something about you being behind on your film project. But you know that you would love to work with us. We’re even working on figuring out tour stuff, so when you finish classes, you should come out with us. I’m sure you would have a good time, and I know the band would love to have you out with us.”
Rebecca laughed, shaking her head at Pete’s pushing again. She knew what he was trying to do, and couldn’t help but be amused by it. Although it was a little odd to think that her brother was trying to set her up with his best friend, who had been one of her close friends for years as well. She turned the kitchen radio up as she turned on “Golden” to listen to while cleaning up. Almost out of habit she began singing along to the music while she cleaned, at least until Pete started a water fight while doing the dishes.
After they had cleaned, made a bigger mess from their water fight, then cleaned up that mess as well, Rebecca walked into the living room and collapsed on the couch. She laughed as Pete followed her in, joining her on the couch with a notebook in his hands. That could only be the notes for his ideas on the video.
“So go ahead and jump in, Petey. I know you’re just itching to start in on the plans and ideas. The video seems like an okay deal. The touring with you guys, I’m not sure about yet.”
“I suppose I have to settle for small compromises. But I’m serious when I say you should come out with us. I’ll even rig up a position for you on tour.”
Rebecca hit him in the leg. She always be slightly embarrassed when he talked about his ability to snap his fingers and have things in his world done, especially when he offered favors for her.
“You know I hate to have you do that. If I do come out, it will be either just as your sister there for a trip for a few weeks, or as an unbiased employee. Or I will just not go. Promise, Petey?”
Rebecca laughed at his expression as he contorted his mouth as if he was giving the proposition a little too much though. She playfully twiddled her thumbs as if highly impatient waiting for his response. She loved teasing him, and they were always joking with one another in one way or another.
“Deal. Now about the video …”
