Going Home to Broken Promises
Chapter Ten
Okay so everytime I say I'm going to update before a certain date, it never happens. I'm just going to quit saying an indefinite time, and just update when I can. But now that I am reading through this next chapter, it is making me smile. This is the second to last chapter, and it's kind of cutesy fluffy cliché crap, but I don't really care. On with your drama!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Ryan and Silver had called the Rehab center. She was scheduled for later that day. Ryan was going with her for moral support. She was glad to have someone like him always around to help her. With the end of spring break approaching, Silver thought more and more about not going back and getting a transfer to somewhere in Nevada, somewhere close. This visit had changed her mind about everything. Ryan had changed her mind about everything.
As they headed into Las Vegas Rehabilitation Center, Silver stopped, gripping his hand. “I can’t do this,” She breathed. “This is too much.”
“Yes you can, Silv. You just have to answer everything truthfully.” He said, holding her to his chest for comfort. She breathed in deep and like that, they headed into the building.
Inside was so immensely white that it was brighter inside than it was outside the building. Silver walked up to the desk and told her the information and she trekked down the hallway to her counselor, Ryan right beside her.
Her counselor found absolutely nothing wrong with her. She had just been a poor, misguided college girl. She wrote off on her obligation and her prescription; it was too strong. She merely needed a phone to call someone when she was in the midst of a relapse and assigned her to be Ryan’s partner. Silver’s counselor knew in her heart that she wouldn’t stray to drugs again.
After their visit to Rehab, Silver and Ryan headed out to enroll her in the college nearest that would provide her with the right courses she was taking. It so happened there was one, and she enrolled. She had to go back to the school in Detroit to get her things, but that would be no problem at all. She had it all worked out, and everything seemed fine. She was going to be okay. She was home.
Home. What a funny word. It seems to mean the place you feel most welcome, not the place your family resides. For Silver, she never really knew where home was until she went back to it.
It took a while, but they eventually got used to having Silver around again. Blair and Clair were around as well, though everyone only saw them during the time there was light outside, the rest of the time they seemed to be in the bedroom with their respective boyfriends. Silver and Ryan had finally started dating, and they were the happiest ever. Everyone looked up to them in the sense of them being the perfect couple. Ryan was sweet and slow to anger with Silver, and Silver was always joking like she used to.
Everyone was happy.
*~*~*~*~*
It was a hot evening and Silver was laying across a blanket next to a pond, Ryan laying next to her. Her dark mahogany brown hair cascaded down past her shoulders and glinted prettily in the hazy sunset. Summer was already upon them once more and she was already out of school for the summer holidays. They had been together for a year now, just taking it slow. She rolled over onto her stomach, which happened to go across Ryan’s torso and leaned down to kiss him on his nose. He chuckled and grabbed the back of her head and pulled her down once more, pressing her lips to his. She pulled back, to his annoyance, and laughed, getting off of him. He sat up as well, leaning on his hands.
“It’s been an odd sort of year, hasn’t it?” Silver asked, watching the sun sink lower and lower down the horizon. He snorted in agreement. “I’m glad I came back.”
“Me too.” He said, smiling warmly at her when she looked up at him. She gave him a kiss on the cheek. He got up, giving her a quirky smile and dusting himself off. She smiled up at him in a questioning grin. He flashed her a smile, and his eyes twinkled in almost fear.
“Ryan? What are you… oh my God.” She gasped, watching him bend down on one knee, digging into his pocket to produce a ring and holding it out to her.
“Silver Marie Miller, will you marry me?” He asked sincerely. She looked shocked and he prepared himself for her answer, whether it be good or bad.

This was originally destined to be the last chapter, and have you figure out what she did, but I decided not to do that because it was going to end so awfully. So you are all happy now because the next chapter is so funny at the end! As a matter of fact, it's funny throughout the whole chapter. It's the end. ): So I should think of what to put up next, shouldn't I? Any requests?
Love you guys!
