Chapter 11

A week had passed since Justin’s mom called. He was afraid to call but at the same time he had a feeling he should. No need in thinking the worse, he would give them a chance and hope for the best. He passed through the reporters who were still down the street and pulled up to the house. He noticed a car he didn’t recognize. He went in the house and called out.
“Josh, I’m home.” He said
Josh stepped out of his office and walked over to Justin at the bottom of the stairs. He walked over and kissed him.
“Hey baby. I’m in with one of the shareholders. It shouldn’t be too long.” Josh said
“Ok. I’ll be upstairs.” Justin said
Half an hour later Josh opened the bedroom door and saw Justin sitting on the bed with the phone in his hands looking at it. He moved to the bed and squeezed in behind Justin.
“Why are you holding the phone?” Josh asked
“I think I’m going to call home.” Justin said
Josh then noticed that his hands were shaking.
“I’ll be right here if you want me to stay.” Josh said
“Please.” Justin said
“Ok.” Josh said leaning back and pulling Justin close to him. He put his hand around his lovers waist and rubbed his stomach to try and calm him. They sat in silence for a few minutes and then Justin dialed the number.
“Hello” his mother Lynn said.
“It’s Justin.”
“I... I was afraid you wouldn’t call.” she said.
“I almost didn’t. I wasn’t sure what would happen if I did.” he said
“I’m glad that you called. I wanted to start by apologizing for what happened. Your father and I have talked about it and we would like to try and start again.” Lynn said through the tears in her voice.
“Why?” Justin asked
“What?” Lynn said not expecting that question.
“Why? Why do you want to try again?” Justin asked
“Jon told us that sometimes he thinks he sees you at the park. He wanted to know why you didn’t come around anymore. He’s always asking about you and he tells Stevie all these stories about how great you are and everything that you taught him. I thought about the reason you weren’t here anymore and I just couldn’t stand it anymore. Your father and I talked about it and we both want to try and understand, but more than that we want you to be around again. We miss you.” she said.
Justin didn’t say anything for a while. He was crying thinking about Jon seeing him at the park. He never thought that he was seen. He hoped he didn’t think he was ignoring him.
“Justin... Justin are you still there?” Lynn asked
“Yes. I’m here. I didn’t know he saw me.” Justin said
“You were there? We thought he was just missing you.” she said
“I go every weekend. I try to see them. I miss them a lot.” He said.
Josh continued to hold him. He could only hear Justin’s side of the conversation. He sounded like a lost little boy not sure of himself and he sounded both hopeful and cautious.
“Would... Would you like to come and pick them up. You can have them for the day. Jon really misses you and I would understand if you didn’t want to see dad and I just yet.” she said
“Really? I can see them?” he said
“Yes. If you want it’s fine with me.” she said
“When?”
“ime ime is fine, now that school is out for the summer.” she said
“I’d like that. I’ll call with the details.” he said
“Ok. Justin we’re really sorry about everything.”
“I’m not ready to forgive you just yet.” He said
“I know. I just wanted to say it again.” she said
“I have to go. I’ll call you tomorrow about the boys.” He said
“Ok. I... I love you.” she said and hung up before he could answer.
Justin hung up the phone and turned in Josh’s arms. He buried his face in his boyfriends chest and cried. Josh rubbed his back and held him. Letting him get it all out. When the hard sobs stopped Josh decided it was safe to talk.
“Baby what happened?” Josh asked
“Jon saw me at the park. He told my parents and questioned them about why I wasn’t around.” Justin said
“Did she tell him?” Josh asked
“I didn’t even ask. I don’t know, but she said I could come and get them for the day Josh. Can you believe it?” Justin said looking at him with a smile.
“That’s great. When?” Josh asked
“Whenever. I told her I would call tomorrow to set something up.”
“What are you going to do with them?” Josh asked
“Would it be ok if I bring them here. I think they would love it and we could swim or watch videos. I don’t care what we do, just as long as they will be here.” Justin said.
“I think that would be great.” Josh said
“Would this Saturday be ok?” Justin asked
“It’ll be fine. Do you want me to clear out. I’m sure I could bug Bobbie for the day.” Josh said
Jn pun pulled his head off of Josh’s chest to look him in the eyes. He looked almost frightened.
“You’re not going to be here?” Justin asked
“I thought it might be too much for the kids. I mean I would love to meet them but it doesn’t have the be the first time you three are together in over a year.” Josh said
“I want you here. You’re a part of my life and I want to to know you as well. Please tell me you’ll be here.” Justin said
“I will. I promise.” Josh said kissing him.
“I love you.” Justin said
“I love you too.”

Justin called his mom the next day to make sure that they would be free on Saturday.
“Saturday is fine.” she said
“What have you told them about me? Do they know that I have a boyfriend?” Justin asked
“No we haven’t really said anything to them about that.” she said
“Well I’m going to have them at his house and he’ll be around. I’m not going to lie to them.” Justin said
“I don’t think I could really explain it, but if you do it’s fine. I don’t think Stevie will understand at all. Jon should a little.” she said
“I’ll explain it to them. I’ll be there at ten and I’ll have them back by seven. Is that ok with you?” Justin asked
“Yes. That will be fine.” she said
“Thanks for letting me see them.” he said
“This is as much for them as it is for you. I’m sure they are going to have fun. Justin, I saw you in the paper. I just want to know if Jon and Stevie could end up photographed?” she asked
“I’ll make sure they don’t see them. They will be fine.” he said
There was a silence between them. Justin had to ask the question even though he was afraid of the answer.
“Did you call because I’m with Josh?” he asked
“I don’t understand?” she said
“Mom, he’s a billionaire. Did you call because I’m with him? Is this all because you saw me in the paper on the society page linked with a billionaire. I mean is that why it’s all of a sudden ok that I’m gay?” Justin asked again
“No. That’s not why. Yes, I did see the picture and I have to admit it was a shock, but that’s not why I called. I meant what I said. We really miss you and we want to try. When you’re ready and not before.” Lynn said.
“Good. I’m glad to hear it. I have to get back to work, I’m on my break. I’ll see you on Saturday.” Justin s He He ended his call and went back to work. He wasn’t sure if he believed her or not but he would take her word for it. He only hoped he didn’t end up regretting it. Only time would tell and as long as he had his brothers he wasn’t sure if he even cared.
