Part 11

Sam:

I was checking my Twitter on my phone when I heard someone come into the bunk room and shut the door behind them. I popped my head out of my bunk and saw it was a not-so-happy looking James.

“You alright, mate?” I asked. He most probably just felt sick after eating all of those pancakes.

“Not really,” He said, walking over to the bunk opposite mine and sitting in it so that he was facing me. “I… I need to talk to you.”

Danny:

I was so relieved that Cam and James were okay with me and Ben. I was so worried that they wouldn’t be and they’d be uncomfortable with us. Cam was chattering away with us, asking us how long we’d liked each other, why it took us so long to tell the other about our feelings, etc. We’d answered all of his questions easily and he seemed shocked that we had told everyone about us so soon.

“Well, it just shows how open we are with each other, doesn’t it?” Ben said. Cam nodded and started talking again. I didn’t listen, instead I let my mind wander. How long were me and Ben going to keep “Us” away from our families? I’d rather tell them in person, not over the phone or via Skype. The next time we were back home, I was definitely going to tell them. I hadn’t spoken to my parents for a while, and I’m sure they’d like to know what’s going on in my life from me not the press. When were we going to tell the fans? I love Ben, and I want the world to know that… But when?

Shit! Our girlfriends. I got up from the sofa, pulling my phone out of my pocket and headed for the bunks.

“Where’re you going, Danny?” Cam asked.

“Umm… I’m going to tell Myca that we can’t be together anymore.” I said. Ben sat up straight and looked wide-eyed at me.

“You’re not going to tell her about me and you, are you?”

“Well, there’s no point in hiding it from her. She’ll just find out sooner or later anyway.” Ben looked at the floor and nodded, biting his lip rings again. God, he looked so hot when he did that.

“Are you wanting me to come with you?” I shook my head.

“Nah, I’d rather do this alone.” He nodded again and pulled out his own phone. He stood up and muttered “I’d better call Sam, too,” and walked out of the bus door. I looked at Cam and mimed “Back in a minute” to him.

I was about to dial Myca’s number, but as soon as I walked into the bunks, I knew that something was wrong. I looked up from the phone’s screen to see a nervous looking James and an awkward looking Sam sat on the edges of their bunks. As soon as James noticed I was in the room, his face went red and he got up, mumbling something under his breath and shoved past me to escape the room. I shot a confused look at Sam, who was staring after James with a spaced-out look in his eyes.

“What the fuck’s wrong with him?” I asked. Still, Sam’s eyes never left the door when he said:

“He told me he loves me.”
