Secret.....

Kaoru was still thinking about Kyo's wariness to stay when Toshiya arrived. It had been in the nick of time really. Just as Nishimura-san settled on worrying about him. Any later and she would've had him call the bassist's cell in a panic since it was less than a quarter till 8. And she was decidedly punctual. When she met him at the door, Kaoru looked him over. He was dressed in fitted black jeans and a shimmery sort of shirt that fit him like a second skin. His hair pulled up in a sort of classy twist and he had makeup on, but it was minimal. Just foundation and a red tinted gloss. And even in this casually feminine ensemble he was entirely masculine, enough so that he didn't warrant a strange glance from the small woman.
"Oh! Don't you look nice." she said to him. "Kaoru, doesn't he look nice?"
The guitarist stood stagnant, in his jeans and old Sads t-shirt clutching firmly to a bag of potato chips. He managed to force out a stolid grunt in supposed approval, to which Toshiya stuck out his tongue in contention. Kaoru saw this as an invitation, but declined it mentally with a dull sigh. Just what he needed tonight: a sexed up bass player that made his body want to just vibrate in place. He was going to die soon. Murdered by Kyo's parents or going oversexed to his grave, he didn't care which.
When he wiped the chip grease off his hands and all over the leg of his jeans Nishimura-san glared. "Don't eat that! I'm making dinner." She confiscated the bag. "And don't grunt like that, you're not a caveman! You know you could've tidied up a bit yourself! You're a mess."
Kaoru pouted, looking himself over in the hallway mirror. Okay, so he could've picked a shirt that wasn't so faded and worn...but it was one of his favorites, so he thought its haggard appearance was a testament to how great a shirt it really was. And so maybe the bottoms of his jeans were torn and yeah so there were a few holes...and a brand new grease stain, but that was only because of wear and tear from love. Absently he wondered-- if he loved Kyo and Toshiya how he loved his clothes -- how then would they look after he 'loved' them for awhile? But deciding that Kyo already had holes in him in various places throughout his head, it couldn't really hurt anything.
There wasn't much that could make Toshiya look bad either. See example one: sexy bassist showing up at the door in tight pants stretched impossibly over a similarly tight ass. Fit to fuck. Kaoru groaned. Why was he thinking of sex so much lately? He was growing to be an old hentai. The things Kyo's mother would hit him with if she so much as heard one half of the thoughts floating around in his head when he looked at either of his loves. And yet, while completely oblivious to either Kaoru or her son's preferred sexuality, she knew Toshiya was bisexual. Though if she hadn't been aware of it, they'd have all thought her stupid. Toshiya wasn't shy about it and didn't really care who knew. But, the interesting thing about that was that unless you were a close friend or someone he saw on a fairly regular basis, you probably wouldn't have known. He didn't make a show of it.
Kaoru watched said bassist's ass as Mrs. Nishimura walked him up the stairs to put away his things. 'Looks like we'll be bunking together...' The thought coaxed a wry smile from the guitarist. Oh what mischief they could make.
He took his opportunity to slip into the kitchen where Kyo was busily helping with dinner. Now slicing an out of sight bit of vegetable over the sink, grumbling that he wasn't supposed to be doing it at all.
"Do you think I look like a bum?" Kaoru fought the urge to scratch himself, knowing it wouldn't add up to earning a compliment.
Kyo set down his knife and eyed him. "Yes..." He then turned back to his vegetables.
The guitarist leaned down to the other's ear to whisper in a teasing voice, snaking his hands down the vocalist's sides. "But I'm a sexy bum ne?"
Kyo raised an eyebrow. "Aa, not to mention a jack ass. We're in my parents kitchen."
Leader-sama laughed. "Relax your mom's upstairs with Toshiya."
Kyo sent him a glare. "But my father's in the other room. Don't start anything you don't intend to finish."
"Who says I won't finish it?" He ran a hand up the seam of Kyo's pants, caressing his ass and everything in between.
Kyo held back a moan and wiggled the sharp knife between his fingers, growling. "I don't hate these vegetables half as much as I hate you right now and do you see what I've been doing to -them-? If you whisper in my ear like that again I'm going to stab you in the nuts. If you do anything remotely similar to try and get me hard, I'll stab you in the nuts -and- play Texas chainsaw massacre with your dick."
"I love it when you're cranky."
"Just don't even think about it."
There was a haughty laugh and the vocalist was let go. "Of course not! Do you think I really would? Here? I'm not so disrespectful as to do this in your mother's kitchen...over a sink full of flower print china to boot...and especially not with you brandishing your little knife there."
Kyo sighed in relief.
Kaoru smirked.
"I'll just wait till you get upstairs and fuck you up against your poster of Atsushi Sakurai instead. Our gods see everything ne?" The comment left Kyo emblazoned with a look of complete and horrific shock. 'Oh god...' he thought. 'Not in front of Atsushi...'
Smirking, Kaoru snagged a licorice stick from the open jar on the counter top and smacked Kyo's ass, causing Kyo to echo a loud curse into the air.
As soon as Nishimura-san heard the scream she came careening down the steps to the kitchen. "I hope you didn't break anything!"
"Of course not." Rang sweetly from Kaoru's mouth as he gnawed on his bit of licorice. She gave Kaoru an angry look and pulled the candy stick out of his mouth and whapped him on the head with it. "You just don't listen do you!? I'm locking my pantry! If you don't be good I'm not feeding you anything!" And she stole his candy and walked over to the sink, mumbling to herself.

"Don't you think that's a good idea?" The lady looked expectant.
The guitarist seemed to look at her in confusion. Hadn't she asked him something? But he had been distracted by the bassist's foot in his lap. Conveniently obscured by the table.
Toshiya smiled to him sweetly from his place opposite him. The tease.
"I'm sorry?" said Kaoru, politely excusing his distraction.
"Well she is a lovely girl." Nishimura-san went on. "Probably not the type you're used to, though. Very traditional."
"Um..." he began, crossing his legs to fend off the bassist who gave him a pout. "I'm sorry. It would be awkward." He told her.
"Oh really? Well, I shouldn't think..."
"I don't date fans. It isn't possible."
She frowned. "What good is that? I'd think they'd take good care of you. Better than anybody else!"
He chuckled. "Maybe, but..." Toshiya moved his foot back in place making Kaoru huff in frustration. "I just wouldn't be comfortable."
Kaoru glare at the bassist from somewhere over his bowl.
"Maybe Toshiya then? You like girls, right?"
"Toshiya smiled around his chopsticks. "Mm-hmm."
"Then maybe you'd like to..."
"Ah, you shouldn't pressure me into it. I can't imagine dating right now. I have my hands full with working Dir en grey." The bassist's smirk was infectiously sweet and unbelievably innocent.
Kyo gagged on his food when Toshiya's hand snake under the table and over his crotch.
"Tooru? Are you alright?"
His father glared at us all.
"Y-yeah. Just...ate too quickly." was the best answer he could muster under such close 'scrutiny'.
Nishimura-san's attentions refocused themselves with out skipping a beat.
"Is that a no? My god! You boys aren't getting any younger, you know. Nearly thirty and you're not even trying." She looked rather disdainfully at her son. "And should I even bother asking you?" she turned to the two young men at the table who watched her expectantly. "He had a few girl troubles growing up and already he's an emotional hermit! Always finding reasons why he doesn't like someone."
Kyo growled. "I don't need anyone. I'm doing fine!"
"Watch your tone." His father stared him down from the other side of the table. Kyo let out an annoyed breath.
"Fine. But I wish you'd understand for once."
Nishimura-san sighed. "I just want you to be happy. And you're not happy alone."
"How do you know I'm not happy? You never see me." Kyo muttered into his dinner.
She put down her chopsticks. "That's because half the time we don't even know what city you're in."
"So it's my fault? Like everything else? Mom...I love what I do, I'm not going to stop because you want more time to tell me how many things I don't have."
"Like a wife? All those girls you've dated and not one of them was good enough for you? Most of the friends you had in school are married with children by now!"
"I'm not having any of those things. Anyway I'm happy." He stabbed a piece of meat.
"Totally fucking ecstatic."
Nishimura-san furrowed her brows. "Tooru!"
"What?" Kyo snarled. "I didn't come here to get interrogated, drop it!"
Kaoru eyed Kyo warily and then glanced at Toshiya's shocked face.
"I'm just trying to help you!"
"No, no you're not. I didn't want to come here!" God couldn't have stopped him now. "All you do is tell me what's wrong with me! What I don't have and 'should'. What I shouldn't do, what I should do. I'm sick of it. Fuck! It's done! Stay out of it. I'm not going to be anybody else."
"Kyo..." Kaoru's voice was calm and sweet. Kyo softened and sighed. Both parents were too shocked to respond. His father looked furious.
"I'm not going to change. I don't -want- to change."
"Kyo..."
"...I'm done." He walked out of the room.
Everyone in the room was stunned silent. With a heavy sigh Kaoru stood, "Excuse me."
He found Kyo in his room sitting on his bed. The smaller man heard him enter, heard his footsteps on the carpet and knew at once that it was him and sank into a long breath. Kaoru sat beside him, saying nothing. Simply regarding him with a silent respect, waiting for the other to say something. He didn't. Only lifted his head when he saw Toshiya in the doorway. The bassist came and wrapped himself around Kyo, resting his head on the little waru's back.
"I'm okay, Toshiya." he heaved a sigh.
"I know." the bassist whispered.
Kaoru rubbed at his eyes. "Do you want me to take you home?"
Black eyes looked him over. "I don't know...what do you think?"
"I think you should stay. I think you have some things you need to talk about with them."
"It won't do any good, Kao. Let it go. They'll get over it."
"Will you?"
Kyo clutched his pillow tighter. "It's like this every time. Mom nags me about girls, and Dad...well by Sunday he'll be screaming at me over something or other. No wonder I'm not with a fucking woman. All they seem to like me for is an easy target."
"Your mother means well..." said Toshiya.
"Yeah, I know. But that doesn't mean it's not annoying."
"You didn't have to snap like that though, you should just sit down and talk to her." Toshiya cooed, snuggling his face into Kyo's hair.
"I'd rather not..."
The bassist put his mouth against Kyo's cheek, and whispered, "If she says anything though..."
"Then I promise you I'll talk to her...don't worry. Why are you interested in this anyway?"
Toshiya shrugged. "I hate when people get angry, it makes me think I'm in trouble."
Kaoru kicked at him, well, more scooted his foot in Toshiya's general direction in play. "Paranoia kicking in again?"
Toshiya laughed.
Kyo gave a dangerous smirk. "If he smiles like that again, he really -will- be in trouble."
****************
The surprise was overwhelming, perhaps even unwelcome. She had heard the faint voices of her guests upstairs, speaking of her. She had never realized she had bothered him so. She had never meant to. The only thing she had sought to do was find him some sort of peace, since he never seemed to have any. But the way he spoke then had told her that his idea of peace was not her own. Far from it.
She had heard the doleful muttering of his voice from the top of the stairs. Then the gratified laughter he seemed to muster up whenever his friends would do something to cheer him up. For near on fifteen minutes she stayed, sitting on the soft carpet at the top of the stairs, listening. Listening to her child tell the two men in the room all the things she never really heard. He'd said them before but she fancied she never really was listening. Because he had said them -to- her. It was different overhearing it. Where she couldn't fight back, where she had to just sit and listen.
"If he smiles like that again, he really -will- be in trouble."
She snorted, hearing the bassist laugh, and after hearing nothing further, she decided they had done a sufficient enough job at cheering him up. Enough so she would not be scolded for speaking with him. So, calmly she had stood and walked towards the open door at the end of the hallway. "Tooru...can I spe---"
Her voice gave out on her, pushing out only a tiny ghost of a gasp. Her son stared at her from under his mussed blonde hair, not quite as surprised as he was indifferent. He hadn't expected her though, and he was in quite a position. The bassist lay on top of him, frozen in his place, Kaoru at Kyo's side, looking not in the least bit guilty of anything but existing. They had been kissing. Toshiya...Toshiya had been kissing her son.
That thought, that fact hadn't surprised her as much as the fact that her son had been kissing back. Leaning against Kaoru's side, he had eaten the bassist's mouth like a hungry person would eat a bowl of soup. It great gulps, wet and passionate. In his place, Kyo looked away from her, away from her eyes. He licked his lips and pushed Toshiya up to sit before him.
But he said nothing. Neither did she.
Nishimura-san closed her eyes and turned around shakily, walking back the way she came, down the hall to her own room. Kyo removed himself from the bed and followed.
****************
"Mama..." Kyo had never spoken so softly to another person. Not in a great while. Nishimura-san sat at the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the hands in her lap. Kyo sat down beside her.
He didn't know what to say. All he knew was that he wasn't apologizing. He didn't have to. She shouldn't have walked in. She shouldn't have saw. He had done nothing wrong. He had kissed his lover.
"He kissed you." she said after several minutes of ear shattering silence.
Kyo nodded. "That's what he does."
"You kissed him back."
Kyo turned his head, letting out a short, gruff breath. He fidgeted: scratching his jaw, rubbing at his lips, twisting the piercings that shot out from them.
"I don't understand..." she said. "You've brought so many girls here...and when you were young, that's all you thought about."
"I grew up." was all he could say.
"You grew up to be what? What happened? Baby, what happened in there?"
He closed his eyes, let the air that whirled from the ceiling fan lash at his face. "I just grew up that's all. I realized, everyone wanted to change me...and I realized...-they- didn't."
"But...not everyone wanted to...someone wouldn't...why..." she was tripping over her own words.
"Why should I...have to look...so hard to find someone that doesn't want me to change, someone who loves me for who I am, what I am, doesn't want anything else but me...as I am. Just me. Why would I do that if I had it already?"
"And you...love..."
He nodded silently, watching the fan blades circle like lacquered white birds overhead. "Aa, I love them. Likely more than I love anything else."
She looked at him solemnly. "Is this what you want?"
"Hai. It's everything I want. Don't worry about me mama, I am happy. And when you understand that this is what I want and what I'm keeping, I'll be happier."
She swallowed down a great lump in her throat, then she turned to him, studied his face. His eyes were bright, sure, desperately wanting approval but not asking for it.
"Your father..."
He shook his head. "I don't care about him. He's gonna shoot me down, it doesn't matter. I don't care. But I don't want you to...are you ok?"
She nodded and smiled. "I love you, Tooru. This doesn't change that. I'm ok. If it's what you really really want...it's not my place. We're ok. You couldn't have picked a better person anyway, Toshiya's a sweetheart."
Kyo chewed his lip. "Well...it's not just Totchi...Kaoru and I and him...it's us." before she had a chance to chide him for it he spoke again. "I know it sounds like it wouldn't work, like it doesn't have a chance, and maybe it doesn't. But I wanna try. Let me live and make my own mistakes. Please."
Sigh.
"Kaoru's ....Kaoru won't let you get hurt." she said.
"No, he won't. He hasn't yet."
She wiped away her sneaking tears and smiled, kissing Kyo's forehead. "Alright, baby. Just be careful. I won't say anything to your father. But if you don't want to tell him yourself..."
Kyo stood. "I won't. You can tell him, I don't really care. But it's not under discussion."
"I will then. I'm ok." she said again, smiling and waving him off. "You go back and finish whatever you were doing. Tell them it's ok. Just....don't ever tell me what goes on....please."
He laughed.

**Note: God my chapters are so short now T_T But I feel that I don't have much to give to this story anymore, which makes me sad because it's like I'm not even trying anymore. Which means it's time to end this gracefully before it gradually gets worse. I hate that it's not as good as I want it to be or feel that you deserve. So...Next chapter will be the last, and I'll end it on a lemon for you for good measure, since most of you want a threesome. You'll get it. One day I might revamp this story in better form since I'm sorely disappointed in the writing. I can do MUCH MUCH better. >_< I'm working on another story for them as we speak, which I really love. This story...was actually just written out of boredom, I had no plans for it but most of you liked it so I continued. This other story I really like and it has a purpose. It'll be AU set in ancient Japan, edo period me thinks. Kyo's a dragon demon and head of a samurai clan (guess who's the samurai, DEG! ^^) it was based off a dream I had. Fantasy, slash, a little hentai (of course). I think you guys might like it. I already drew a picture for it... http://s04.imagehost.org/1308/scan_copy.jpg XD I loved how Kyo looked in my dream...anyway, if you're interested let me know and I'll seriously get working on that after this next chapter. I already have some done but...you know how slow I am. XD
^^ Till next chapter. Love you all!!
