chapter 12
HI!! i'm not dead, i've just had severe writers block and no time to myself. i hope there's people that are still reading this, if there is: thank you!!
this is, as usual, for my little vampire kitten, karin for being there for me and always helping and encouraging me. love ya babe!
Bam stood outside the crypt for about five minutes before Ville ran past him with his coat over his head, and went straight into the big stone box. Glaring at the wall as if the entire situation was it's fault, Bam reluctantly followed Ville inside, glancing around in amusement at all the 'homely' touches that Ville had added.
"What do you do when the relatives come to leave flowers?" He asked, keeping as far away as possible from the stone coffin in the middle of the room.
"They don't." Ville replied simply. "This guy's been dead longer than I have, nobody cares any more."
The strange undertone in Ville's voice made Bam press the issue. "Did they have a funeral for you and Mige?"
"Why would they? The only people that would mourn us were our friends and they probably hated us too once they found out we were gay."
"I'd have mourned you." Bam whispered, forgetting that Ville could still hear him.
"Thank you sweetheart." Ville smiled sadly. The heavy moment was suddenly broken by Bam's cell phone.
"Huh, things I've learnt today; a cell phone can still get a signal in the middle of a crypt." Bam laughed, pulling the phone out of his pocket and reading the message he'd been sent.
"it's from Dunn. The guys are hanging out at the skate park again today and they want me to go, I'll just tell them that I'm spending the day with you."
"No, it's ok darling you should go. I usually sleep during the day anyway."
"Oh I forgot. I'd be in your way." Bam said sadly, turning to leave.
"Sweetheart, I don't mind you being here, I wouldn't sleep at all if it meant I got to be with you all the time but you can't ignore you're friends as well as your parents."
"Yeah I know. I'm just worried about how they'll react to me being with a guy, especially Knoxville."
"I know it's cliche but if they're really your friends then they won't mind. But if something does happen and you want to talk, come back here and wake me up, I won't mind." Ville soothed.
"Ok. Are we gonna see each other tonight?"
"Of course. I want to be able to see you every night so how about every night that you're on school holiday, I'll come by your house and pick you up at 9.30. I'll be outside your window because I don't think your parents would let me in the house again!"
"Yeah it's probably best." Bam laughed. "I'll see you tonight then." Suprising both of them with his sudden boldness, he leaned in, capturing Ville's lips in a brief but passionate kiss.
Leaving the strange comfort of Ville's crypt, Bam tried to walk as slowly as he could to the park, not ready to face everyone, but he arrived all too soon. Taking a deep breath, he tried to gather his usual 'don't give a fuck' attitude before heading over to his friends.
"Hey guys." He called out proud that his voice stayed steady. "What's up?"
All them were awkwardly silent, glancing between him and Knoxville like they weren't sure who they were supposed to be supporting. Johnny rolled his eyes at their friends, and turned to Bam with a friendly smile that almost hid the defeat in his eyes.
"Hey Bam, where's your board? Usually it doesn't leave your side."
Bam grinned back, relieved that at least one person was acting normally. "I accidently left it at home while trying to avoid my parents."
The awkward silence continued from everyone else and Johnny gave an exaggerated sigh. "What the hell is up with you guys? Out of all of us, I should be the one things are awkward with but I'm fine with it."
"Really?" Bam asked hopefully.
"Well I kinda wish that your boyfriend wasn't around but it's ok, we're still mates right?"
"Yeah of course." Bam smiled relieved.
"So what's he like?" Dunn grinned, all of them feeling more relaxed knowing that they wouldn't have to take sides.
"Um, I'm not sure if..." Bam began, glancing at Johnny nervously.
"It's ok, I wanna know too." He grinned.
"Well, he's really possesive and a little crazy but he's great and really sweet to me. It took me a while to accept that I'm with a guy though."
"When you say crazy, do you mean, does stupid stunts like us or, mentally unstable?" Raab asked.
"The second one." Bam admitted reluctantly. "He's not totally insane though. Remember the person that was stalking me?"
His friends nodded and he waited patiently for them to catch on. It didn't tkae long before they figured it out.
"You're shagging your stalker?" Novak said incredulously.
"It's a long story but the short version is that he tricked his way into becoming our lodger and stalked me until I gave up and agreed to date him but Ape found us in bed together and kicked him out so now I'm not talking to them."
"So do you love him or are you just going along with it so he doesn't pressure you anymore?" Dunn asked concerned.
"I love him. I didn't when we first started seeing each other but he's an easy person to fall in love with and he loves me so much more than I deserve to be loved."
"Yeah well, enough of the slushy gay love, let's skate." Glomb grinned, and the conversation was soon forgotten.
Now that everyone had gotten over the situation with him and Johnny, everyone went back to acting normally around him and he actually had a good day just hanging out with them. He left the park sometime around 7pm so he could shower and change his clothes before Ville came to get him.
Walking home quickly, he opened the door and tried to sneak up the stairs before he was noticed. Unfortunately luck wasn't on his side and his parents were waiting for him.
"Bam, can you come and sit down please? We need to talk about this." Phil said gently, taking hold of his arm and guiding him towards the lounge.
"No." Bam replied coldly, pulling away. "I've got to get ready to meet my boyfriend." He stressed the word 'boyfriend' almost daring them to say something.
"That's what we wanted to talk to you about." Ape said gently. "We know most teenage boys feel the need to experiment with the same sex but...."
"I'm NOT experimenting." Bam interupted angrily. "I love him and I can't believe that you threw him out of the house just because of your narrow mindedness. I don't have anything to say to either of you."
He ran upstairs and into his bedroom, locking the door behind him and swearing as he caught sight of his clock. Thanks to his parents, he didn't have as much time to get ready as he'd hoped. He showered and washed his hair quickly then applied a thin line of khol to his eyes like he'd seen on Ville. Next came the difficult part; choosing what to wear. He admired Ville's dark, gothic looking way of dressing and wanted to wear something similar but unfortunately his wardrobe consisted mainly of baggy jeans, shorts and skating tshirts.
Practically climbing inside his large wardrobe, he started pawing through the items hidden in the back that he never wore, and after a few moments of searching he smiled triumphantly as he pulled out the perfect items. A deep red fake silk shirt that he'd worn as dracula one halloween, and the only pair of fitted jeans that he owned. He put them on, thankful that the jeans were black and wouldn't look odd with the colour of the shirt. He added his favourite pair of fingerless gloves and attached his key chainto his jeans to give him more of a punkish look.
He was checking his appearance in the mirror and wondering if the chains were too much when he heard a tapping at his window. He smiled as he turned round and saw Ville sitting in the tree outside his room and he grabbed his blazer off the bed and ran down the stairs, ignoring his parents attempts at apologizing. His face lit up as he opened the door to see Ville standing outside the house and he briefly wondered how he could have ever turned Ville down and how he'd ever been happy without him but those thoughts soon fled as Ville pulled him into a mind blowing kiss.
"Mmmm, hi." Bam purred contentedly once Ville let him breathe.
"Hi to you too darling." Ville grinned. "You know, if I wasn't already dead, I think that outfit would have killed me already."
"Is it that bad?" Bam asked self conciously.
"Bad? You look even more sexy than usual, how come you've never worn this before?"
Bam blushed slightly at the compliment, moving further into their embrace as Ville slid his hands down to cup his ass.
"I just found it in the back of my closet, I wanted to start dressing a bit more like you." He admitted.
"Well then, we'll just have to go shopping, but not tonight because we have somewhere else to be." He paused for a second before smirking mischievously. "By the way, your parents are watching us out the window."
Looking to the window, Bam noticed he was right and he began to mouth a complaint but he was stopped when one of Ville's hands reached up and entangled itself in his hair, yanking his head back. He gasped aloud, his eyes closing in pleasure as Ville's tongue licked a path up his exposed throat and his body was pressed tightly against his lovers, their hips grinding and thrusting together, sending sparks of ecstasy shooting through him. He whimpered in frustration when Ville pulled away until he remembered where they were.
"Ville." He gasped. "I can't believe we just did that in the middle of my garden."
"Well if they're going to insist on watching we might as well give them a show." Ville grinned impishy. "But all the same, I think we should leave now."
"Why?"
"Because your mum's heading this way and she doesn't look happy!"
Grabbing his hand, Ville dragged Bam out of the garden and down the road until they were safe from Bam's parents, giggling insanely the whole time. When they finally stopped, Bam turned to Ville with an exasperated smile.
"Well, I don't think that's helped make her like you."
"That's her problem darling, the only person who's opinion I care about is you. Now come on, you have a tattoo to get."
"Seriously?! He's gonna do it?"
"Of course he is, I promised you didn't I? Unless you've changed your mind about having it of course."
"No way! I can't wait!......uh, is it going to hurt a lot?" Bam ended sheepishly, making Ville laugh.
"It'll hurt a little." He admitted. "But I'll be there with you so you can always grab my hand if you need to."
Walking down the road, Ville took the oppertunity to watch Bam and how comfortable the boy had become around him. And it was mutual, whenever he was around his young lover he felt alive again, like he'd found the very thing he needed to make his heart start beating again.
He wanted to show Bam just how much he cared for him but he wasn't entirely sure how. If Bam had been a vampire, he would have taken him out for a night of hunting the rich snobs as they came out of the theatre, sharing their blood and screams and giving him all the gems and jewels they stole from the bloodless corpses. Somehow though, he didn't think Bam would appreciate that, even if it was done with love so, for the first time in years, he found himself trying to remember what humans found romantic.
"On monday, it will have been a month since I sent you that first note." Ville said conversationally. "I was thinking that maybe we should do something."
Bam stopped walking and turned to face him, an amused yet pleased look on his features. "You mean, like an anniversary or something?!"
"Yeah. I mean, I know how much you humans like all that dumb romantic stuff." Ville said gruffly, but the look on Bam's face made him rethink how he was explaining himself. Sighing heavily he tried again.
"Look, I know when we first started getting to know each other I wasn't exactly a gentleman and I know it freaked you out, but you managed to look past all that and date me of your own free will and I love you for that. I just want to have an evening to spoil you and treat you like the amazing, perfect guy you are."
"You don't have to do things like that, I like spending time with you no matter what we do."
"I know but I enjoy doing things like that for you, you deserve them." Ville insisted, and Bam rolled his eyes in resignation.
"Ok. If you really want to do this then we can, it might be fun."
Ville grinned happily as they came to a stop outside the tattoo parlour. "Of course it will, it'll be our first proper date. Anyway, we're here now so if you still want it done we better go in cause he's not gonna wait all night for us."
"I think he's already finished waiting, the shops closed." Bam pointed out, gesturing to the dark shop front.
"It's fine, he's doing your tattoo after hours so we have to go in through the back."
Bam found himself being led down an alleyway by the side of the shop and through a big, graffiti covered door. He blinked repeatedly as the bright lights in the back of the shop blinded him temporarily, and once his eyes had adjusted he walked across the room to where Ville was hugging a huge guy with a mohawk and tattoos completely covering his arms and neck.
He stood awkwardly waiting for them to finish greeting each other before speaking up. "Hey, I'm Bam."
The guy turned to him with a smile before suddenly reaching out and pushing his head to the side, studying his neck with disturbing concentration. Finally he let go of him and turned back to Ville with obvious confusion.
"You've chosen him as a mate but you haven't done the blood bonding? What's going on with you?"
"Come on, you know I'm not like the rest of the vampire community, I'm waiting for him to be ready. I mean, it's the same thing as marriage for humans and it's a big step for a 16 year old to take so drop it."
Ville focused his attention back to Bam with a small apologetic smile. "Bam, this is Art, you can probably guess how he got the name. Art, this is Bam."
They greeted each other as Art led him over to the chair and sat him down.
"So uh, are you a vampire too?" Bam asked warily, remembering what Ville had said about the other vampires.
"Hell no." Art said, seemingly offended by the question. "Apart from Ville, I hate the whole species- pathetic, sub human blood suckers."
Bam's new found relaxation arounf the large man soon diappeared though as Ville helpfully piped up "Yeah, he's a werewolf."
"HE'S A WHAT??" Bam screeched, sitting up quickly, only to be pushed back on the reclining chair.
"Don't worry, it's not a full moon tonight, you're safe." Art said as though the whole situation was perfectly normal. Bam continued to stare at them both in disbelief until finally, Art just decided to coninue with what he was doing and allow Bam to work out his issues in his head.
"So, what am I inking on you today?" He asked, looking at Ville when Bam didn't answer him.
"Remember my pelvic tattoo you did? That's the one he was thinking of getting, unless he's changed his mind."
"No, that's still the one I want." Bam finally spoke up. He'd come to the decision to trust the guy, after all, Ville trusted him and trusting Ville's judgement hadn't gotten him hurt yet.
He pulled off his shirt and lowered his pants slightly as requested and watched interestedly as Art drew the design onto his skin as a guideline for the tattoo. He had his first moment of doubt when Art picked up the needle and brought it towards him, the buzzing sound reminding him of a dentists drill and the light bouncing off the sharp point, his second moment of doubt happened when the needle was placed onto his skin and the tattoo started to be created. The pain made all his muscles contract and he knew that he couldn't move or it would be totally messed up.
The sitting still was almost as bad as the pain and he slowly reached out for Ville who automatically laced their fingers together and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.
"If you want him to stop at any time just let him know and he will darling." Ville whispered, protectively moving closer to him. "The pain should fade soon though because you'll get used to it."
Bam just smiled at him, determined that he would see it through without stopping, not wanting Ville to think he was weak. Finally it was done and a piece of gauze was taped over it to protect it and to stop the waistband of his pants from rubbing against it. He listened carefully to Art's aftercare instructions and waited for Ville to pay. Not thinking, Bam automatically got up as usual and almost doubled over in pain, clutching at Ville's shoulder.
Ville wrapped his arm around Bam's waist and guided him out of the shop after saying goodbye and thank you to Art. He smiled slightly as he helped his hobbling boyfriend down the road and towards his cemetary.
"Come on sweetheart, you can stay ith me tonight unless you feel up to explaining to your parents why you're walking like you've just had the crap beaten out of you."
"Yeah ok." Bam said softly. His voice was laced with pain and he seemed so unlike himself that Ville had a twinge of what felt like guilt at having convinced Bam to have the tattoo done in the first place.
"Are you ok darling?" He asked concerned and Bam smiled tiredly up at him.
"Yeah I'm ok, just really tired for some reason and it hurts to walk."
Barely even breaking his stride, Ville scooped Bam up into his arms like a man would his bride, causing Bam to wrap his arms round his neck as a reflex.
"What are you doing?" Bam put up a token protest although he had to admit that it felt nice to be carried and looked after like that.
"I'm carrying you." Ville replied simply. "Don't worry about being tired, it's normal after getting a tattoo because adrenaline was being pumped through your body really fast when it was happening and now it's not so you're feeling the affects. You'll be in a bit of pain as it's healing too but I brought some pain killers earlier so you can take them whenever you need them."
They reached Ville's crypt and he reluctantly put Bam back on his feet so he could let them both in. Leading his lover to the back of the crypt, he showed him the big double bed that was there. Bam could barely keep his eyes open but he still had the presence of mind to question the weirdness of finding a bed inside a crypt.
"How the hell did you get this thing in here?"
"With a lot of help and a lot of problems, now stop asking questions and get undressed so we can get your cute ass into bed and you can sleep there instead of on your feet like you're doing now." Ville said affectionately.
Bam thought about arguing for a moment but Ville was already undressed and the bed looked so comfortable that he decided to forget about it and follow Ville's example. He clambered awkwardly into bed and shifted about to find a position that didn't hurt him, letting Ville cuddle up to him once he was comfortable. He glanced sleepily at Ville who was watching him, a gentle expression on his delicate face.
"What?"
"Nothing baby, just thinking how beautiful you are and how lucky I am." Ville responded, stoking Bam's curls away from his face.
Bam smiled bashfully, before thinking of something he'd meant to ask Ville for a while. "Why do you keep calling me baby, even after I told you several times not to?"
"You are my baby. Calling you baby means something, darling and sweetherat, names like that could be given to anyone- hell, I think I even called your mum sweetheart at one point, but baby is just you, just cause you're mine."
"I guess baby is ok then." Bam admitted, curling further into Ville's loving embrace. As he drifted off to sleep he thought he heard Ville whispering to him "I love you baby."
this is, as usual, for my little vampire kitten, karin for being there for me and always helping and encouraging me. love ya babe!
