Scene twelve
(Graham is lying in bed, slowly waking up. Damon appears in the room, his shirt the wrong way round, and stares at him for a moment. Then he carefully lays himself beside him. Graham opens his eyes.)
Graham: Damon…?
Damon, stroking Graham’s hair: Hey.
Graham, confused: You…you didn’t come to bed last night.
Damon: No, I didn’t.
Graham: What’s wrong? Did something bad happen?
Damon: I don’t know if it was bad.
Graham, suddenly wide awake: What have they done to you?
Damon: Hush, Graham. There’s no problem, really.
Graham: But it was them.
Damon: Yes.
Graham: Then tell me.
Damon: I’ve had sex with Liam Gallagher last night.
Graham, completely shocked: …
Damon: Oh, I’m sorry, Graham. It was very weird, the way it all went. I definitely hadn’t been planning to.
Graham, teary eyed: …
Damon: Don’t cry, darling. I swear it was an accident.
Graham: …an accident.
Damon: I promise you, I tried to stop him. But it didn’t work.
Graham: Oh, but you liked it, didn’t you. You begged him for more, didn’t you?
Damon, frustrated: Yes! Yes I did! But I don’t love him!
Graham, looking away: I can’t believe it. I mean…I can’t expect anything from you, of course…it’s only been a day and there’s nothing official about it…
Damon: Oh, Graham…
Graham: God! Now I see him, on you, using you… I’m gonna kill him!
Damon: He never hurt me.
Graham: No, you liked it.
Damon: Oh Graham, please forgive me. Forgive him. I’m sure it won’t ever happen again. I still can’t believe it myself. I never wanted to sleep with him. I wanted to come here, to snuggle and fall asleep next to you.
Graham: Listen, Damon, I really don’t know what to think or what to say. But you cheated on me last night with Liam fucking Gallagher. I’m sorry but it will take some time for me to forget this.
Damon: I’m not asking you to forget, but to forgive.
Graham: Just as hard.
Damon: I won’t push you. It’s my fault. Take all the time in the world. But don’t hurt him.
Graham: Hmpf. Alright then. I won’t hurt him.
Damon: And we’re leaving today, anyway. He won’t be a problem anymore.
Graham: No, at least that’s true.
Damon, half- smiling: Thank you, Graham. You have no idea how much I appreciate you.
Graham, sighing: Oh, Damon, Damon, Damon. What do I do with you?
