Chapter 14
Quick note, I know that Chantelle's small bit of dialog is spelled horribly wrong but it's done that way to reflect a Jamaican accent. Thank you for your time.

When I woke up I was really happy it was Sunday. I'd get to see Mikey today! The meeting yesterday hadn't gone at all well. Dr. Harvey had been staring at me like I was a piece of candy the entire time which was a little unsettling. He started off with the usual questions like "Do you hear voices?" or "Do you ever hurt yourself?" But then he switched to, "How do you usually masturbate?" and "How long have you known you are gay?" I shouldn't have been too surprised by them, I was locked up for saying I'd been fucked by a ghost. But he had this gleam of delight in his eye that really creeped me out.
Stefan had followed me around the entire day like a damned puppy, and when he escorted me back to my cell for the night he finally broke down and asked, "How do you know about Brian?" I looked at him and rolled my eyes. "I see ghosts nimrod. You know, that thing I'm locked up for? Anyway, he was hanging around my house when I moved in and that's how this whole stupid mess got started." "Is he alright?" Asked Stefan. "For someone who refuses to move on? Yeah, he's fine." I stopped dead in my tracks and looked at him, then asked, "Why? What happened to him anyway? He won't tell me."
Stefan sighed and shook his head, then said, "I don't think I can talk about it just yet. I know it was 10 years ago but it's still fresh in my mind." "Oh bollocks! Tell Stef I said to stop being such a pansy and tell you what happened already!" Brian hissed in my ear. "What does bollocks mean?" I asked him. "What?" Asked Stefan, raising an eyebrow. "Well I've heard Brian use it a few times and I don't know what it means." "And this just comes randomly to mind?" "No, he's standing right there." Then I repeated what Brian said, and this just made Stefan laugh. "Ah, silly Molks... I'll tell you tomorrow. Your brother's coming right?"
I'd nodded and couldn't suppress a grin. "Well how about I volunteer to be the one to watch you two during your visit so you can have a bit more privacy?" Stefan offered and I had to resist the urge to hug him. "That would mean so much to me, thank you!" I declared, grinning. This made him laugh too and he shook his head. "Alright, back to your room, if you're out for much longer Dr. Harvey is going to have my hide."
So the bitchy orderly became something resembling a friend. Don't get me wrong, he still had to act kinda mean to me in front of the other patients, but when it was just the two of us we were swapping funny stories about Brian. Hell Brian even offered a few of his own to taunt Stefan with. I was still smiling about this when the door swung open and one of the nurses came in, intent on dragging me into the cafeteria for breakfast. "Oh come on Chantelle, can't I just stay in here? Those kids are freaking me out." I whined.
Chantelle, the pure definition of an African beauty (even though she's from Jamaica) made sort of a snorting sound and rolled her eyes. "And I should be givin' you special treatmont? I don't tink so vampire boy! Come on, off ta de mess hall wit chou!" And she started dragging me out there, making me roll my eyes. I really did not want to see Frank again. I figured out that was the name of the kid who'd asked me if I was a vampire. Actually, everyone was calling me that even though I hadn't done a single thing to support it.
When I got there I was unsurprised to see them gathered in clusters, whispering while I went by. Frank was by his lonesome which I thought was really weird. He was always hanging out with this guy Bob and also my old classmate Ray. But they were nowhere in sight. When I saw Stefan I wanted to ask but knew better, I just sort of nodded at him and found a seat at a back table. Runny eggs, cold hash browns and what I'm sure once was sausage but is now some kind of mystery meat. Wow, what a way to start the day. About the only thing that was truly edible was the toast so I scarfed that down then drank my orange juice.
I got back up to go turn in my tray when Frank stopped me. "Hey Gerard... Been sucking anyone's blood lately?" "Leave me alone Frank." I replied, stepping around him. He was following me back to the counter, saying, "It'd be cool if you could suck mine. I want to join you." I put my tray on the counter and looked at him, raising an eyebrow. "What is wrong with you? How many different ways do I have to say it? I'm not a vampire you moron!" I told him. He grinned at me and I really didn't like that smile. "Sure, sure you're not. Okay well I'll see you later. Oh if you're going to drink my blood wake me up okay?" He said, then sped out of the cafeteria. I just shook my head. "I cannot wait to get out of here."
