[Frank's Point Of View]
"Are you telling me that you can't do anything about it?" Gerard's voice shook with anger. We were sitting in our couch and a detective had just told us that nothing could be done. "There's nothing we can do Mr. Way" the detective tried again. I actually felt a little bad for him, it wasn't his fault. They had no proof that it was Riley.
Yes, we all knew he was the one who sent us the package two weeks ago. How? Because he told me when he threatened me with a kitchen knife. Yeah that's right. The freak in the house next door held a kitchen knife in my face and hissed at me to stay away from Gerard. Of course no one was there except for me, and therefore no one had any kind of proof that he had done anything wrong.
Gerard believed me of course, because he knew I would never make something like that up. But the police didn't believe me. I and Gerard lived in fear, and the police said that we were over reacting.
Over reacting, yeah right. We had a psycho next door. He also called us several times a day. When I answered he would threaten me, and when Gerard answered he would breathe deeply in the phone. Sometimes even moaning.
It creeped us out beyond imagination, and the fact that we could do nothing about it creeped us out even more. We thought about moving, but then we decided against it. This was our dream house, and we didn't want to move.
I and Gerard had been looking around to adopt, but now we couldn't. We didn't dare to have a child in our home with Riley next door. Sometimes we saw him when we were out in our backyard. He would watch us silently, and sometimes smile his creepy smile.
We had stopped being outside, and we never left each others sides. We did everything together, and we always had our curtains over our windows. We lived in constant fear of what Riley might do. We had installed an alarm system, and we had several locks on both our doors.
This was not the life we wanted. This was not how we had pictured it. We wanted to plan our wedding, we wanted to adopt as soon as we had gotten married, and we wanted to spend every day in peace and happiness.
Instead this whole thing was breaking us down. Not our relationship though. That must be a slap in Riley's face. Mine and Gerard's relationship got even stronger, and we loved each other even more.
There was no telling in when this would stop, or what Riley would do next. But all we knew was that we were in love, and we would make it through. Together.
The End.
