Darren and Richard
Like Animals
I’ve always been something of an Animal Planet junkie. I cried when Steve Irwin was killed. Even Tivo’d his memorial service. And donated to the Wildlife Warriors. So I nearly had to resort to bribery and promises of sex-on-demand to get Darren to take me to Australia Zoo. I even swore I wouldn’t make him look at any spiders. (He’s a bit girlie about spiders.) I had the best time! I even petted a koala. Darren reluctantly watched a croc-feeding demonstration, but I’m sure he’s going to have screaming nightmares for weeks. If anyone recognized us, they didn’t say anything. Thought I saw a few people staring, though. I bought a bunch of cool souvenirs for the shelves in my studio. Boys must have their toys, you know. I’ll still never have as many as Darren. And even though we’re on holiday, the creative part of my brain never stops working. I came up with a wicked idea for that project D and I are working on. I want to record both our voices saying each others’ names various different ways, and layer them. And then sync it all up to the swirling colours and pulsing beats. I explained it to Darren. We’ll try it when we get home. If I time it just right, I can get it to sound like “Darrichard”, coming from two voices blended into one. I love technology! And my techno-toys. Might even include it as an Easter egg on the new DVD. Or the animated one.
