From Russia, With Love...Part 3
Decent Proposal
Vladimir knocked on the front door of the condo a little over a week later taking deep breaths preparing for what he was about to do. He had stolen her engagement ring the last time he had come over to see her and the baby, and he knew she was frantic with worry, but he figured what he was about to do was a pleasant surprise. She answered, and her face was stained with tears.
“What is it, baby?” He asked as he entered the house. She practically fell into his arms.
“I just can’t find my ring anywhere. It’s just gone. I don’t even know where I put it, and I’m so scared I’ll never see it again…” He held her, but then pulled back.
“Calm down…I have a surprise for you…” She wiped her tears away and then looked at him, waiting. He took another deep breath and prepared himself for rejection. Then, when he was ready, he took her hand and got down on one knee. Her eyes widened.
“Vladimir…”
“Renae…I really want to start over…to give you normal life that we never had. I want to raise family with you, maybe have more children…and so I ask you…will you marry me…again?” She got down on her knees and hugged him close to her.
“Yes…yes…yes.” They embraced in the middle of the kitchen floor and he pulled the ring out of his pocket. She looked down at it. “You…you took it.”
“Yes, I take it.”
“I…” He slipped it on her finger and kissed her.
