NB-17-Misunderstandings

Hakuei reached for the phone on the seat beside him, trapping it between his chin and shoulder as he merged with traffic.

"Moshi moshi."

"Hakuei-kun, where are you? I went to the bar and some guy I've never seen before said you were out of town."

The older man laughed. "I borrowed my father's car and am on my way to visit family."

Toshiya sighed. "Oh well. I just wanted to let you know that I worked out my little problem in Osaka."

"Souka..." He turned onto the highway and headed north. "And?"

"We talked it out and decided that we'd make better friends than lovers at this point in our lives."

"And you're ok with this?"

"Yeah, I am." Toshiya chuckled. "Funny, but I think I knew all along that it would turn out this way in the end."

Hakuei shook his head, smiling. "And Hide?"

"I'm going to surprise him tonight. That's why I was trying to find you! I wanted your help."

"Sorry, Tochi. As much as I'd like to help, I think a little time away will do me more good. But I'm sure the others will be more than willing to help you out. Good luck."

"Thanks! I'll see you when you get back! Ja matte ne!"

Hakeui smiled slightly and tossed his phone onto the seat next to him.

"At least someone's happy."

Toshiya hummed merrily as he hopped up the steps, duffelbag over one shoulder, keys in hand. He unlocked the door and stepped inside. He tossed his bag onto the couch and kicked off his shoes, only realizing that someone else was in the room when they grunted in surprise.

"Ack! Gomen nasai!" Toshiya retrieved his bag, then squeeled, throwing his arms around the other man. "TORA!"

The younger man grinned as the other nearly pushed him off the couch. 'It's good to see you too, Tochi-kun."

Toshiya sat back on his haunches, eyes wandering over the other man. "Wow! you look so different! You've really lost weight!" Tora blushed and shifted uncomfortable. "No, I like it! The earrings and labret are nice too. Very cool."

"Well, yoiu just have to hav fun sometimes, I guess."

Toshiya nodded. "Well, now I can recruit you in my scheme too!" He jumped to his feet in excitement. "Are Kirito and bou around?"

"Uh, yeah, they;re in the practice room."

The tall man paused. "The dorr's not closed, is it?"

"No..." Tora raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Heh, uh, Kirito has a fet- uh, nevermind. Just a word of advice:" he grinned. :Don't try to go in the practice room if the dorrs closed and you know they are in there alone." He winked at the other man then hopped off down the hall.

"Hey, Hide, it's Toshiya, pick up!"

The pink haired man grinned and grabbed the phone, turning off the answering machine. "You're back!"

"Yeah, I got in about an hour ago." there was a pause. "Do, uh, do you think you would mind coming over in, say another hour? I need to talk to you about something."

Hide's heart lept in his chest.

"Please?" the voice on the phone pleaded sweetly. "It's really important. I'll even make dinner, ok?"

Running a hand through his thick hair, Hide sighed. "Pk, sure, I'll be over in an hour."

"Thanks! Ja!"

Hide replaced the reciever on its base, then leaned forward on his knees, eyes dancing with excitement.

Toshiya stuck his finger in the soup bowel while Kirito's back was turned, popping a carrot piece in his mouth.

"Hhm... wonderful!"

Kirito whirled around, slapping the tall man's mand. "Bad Toshiya! Not yet."

Toshiya hugged his friend, grinning like a fool. "Thank you so much for helping out, all of you!" He turned to the small blonde man standing by the sink. "It all smells so nice!"

Tora walked into the kitchen, scooping up plates and napkins from the counter.

"Speaking of good food," Bou said, "anyone remember Kai from freshman homeroom?" He leaned against the sink. "DIdn't you used to hang out with him, Tora?"

The young man looked uncomfortable. "Um, yeah, I think so. But I don't know what he's been up to."

A few minutes later, the table was set, candles lit, soft music playing faintly from the stereo. Tora and Bou headed outside to wait in the car as Kirito grabbed his keys from the coffee table.

"We'll be watching a couple of movies at Tsukasa's if you need to get ahold of us."

Toshiya emerged from his room, his new silk shirt and slacks looking stunning on him. "Thanks again for all your help." He said, running a hand through his silky black and blue hair, left loose around his broad shoulders. "Everythings prepared and ready."

Kirito smiled knowingly. "Good." He crossed his arms. "Speaking of which, how did Miyavi take all this?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hide pulled into the driveway beside Kirito's black Civic. He paused, noticing Tora sitting in the backseat, Bou tuirned around in the front talking to him. Brow furrowed slightly, he climbed out and locked his car, then jogged towards the side of the house. As he began the long climb up the steep steps to the second floor, he noticed the front door standing open, voices drifting faintly from inside.

"...can't anymore... no more.. pretending."

"Well at least.. gently..."

"Just too much.. I'm... love someone.. else..."

Hide froze halfway up, a chill running down his spine. He slowly took a step higher up, straining to hear their words.

"No.. love him... Miyavi.."

Hide whirled around, feet pounding blindly downt he steps. He suddenly slipped near the bottom, pitching forward, landing hard on his hands and knees.

"Fuck!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kirito stiffened. "Did you hear that?"

Toshiya frowned. "that sounded like..." he pushed past the shorter man, poking his head outside to see Hide picking himself off the ground at the bottom of the stairs.

"Oi, Hide, did you fall?" Toshiya took a step out onto the porch. "Are you ok?"

The pink haired man glanced over his shoulder, his face filled with such hurt that Toshiya took a small step back against the railing. Without a word, Hide took off running towards his car only a few feet away, throwing the door open and slamming it shut.

Bou looked up as Hide rammed his car into reverse, tires squealing on the asphault as he spun the wheel and drove off as fast as he could.

Kirito joined Toshiya on the stairs, exchanging a stunned look.

"What the hell..?" Kirito muttered, then Toshiya pushed past him, frantically searching the endtable for his keys. He found them hiding under the mail and raced out the door, nearly flying down the staircase.

Bou scrambled out of Kirito's car and jogged towards Toshiya as he threw open the door to his Echo.

"What's going on??"

Toshiya started the engine and buckled his seatbelt. "I don't know, but something's upset Hide and I have to find him before he does something stupid!" He backed out of the driveway and took off in the direction the other man's car had gone.

Tora joined Bou in the driveway, the two men exchanging worried looks.

Tora crossed his arms. "Does he even know where Hide's going?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He didn't know for sure, but every fiber in his being told Toshiya that Hide would head to one spot. He often went there, whether he was feeling sad or happy, depressed or just needed time to think. In fact, the very first time they had met was there; Hide sitting in the shade, absently strumming his acoustic, Toshiya walking a dog for a friend on vacation. That soft, sweet music had caught his attention, reminding him so much of someone he had only recently lost. Since that first conversation, the two of them had been inseperable.

Toshiya pulled into the park entrance, quickly spotting the only car in the parking lot. He parked haphazardly beside it and climbed out, eyes frantically searching for any sign of his friend. The park was quite large, covering acres and acres of forest; he couldn't just pick a direction and start looking. With a sigh, he decided his best bet was to try the other man's favorite spot.

He picked his way down a narrow path between the trees, following it until he found the creek. Changing direction, he walked against the flow of the water, towards a small clearing. A few minutes later he could hear the small waterfall in the distance. He picked up the pace and soon he could see the twenty foot fall, water cascading into a deep pool, perhaps forty feet around. As he grew closer, he could just barely make out a figure behind the waterfall's curtain, sitting precariously on the shelf of rock a little over 5 feet above the pool surface.

Toshiya carefully made his way around the edge and took a step out onto the ledge.

"Hide!" he cried, but the falling water was too loud and the other man gave no sign that he heard him. Hide's eyes were closed, as if deep in thought. Water, or tears, were streaking his flushed face.

Toshiya stepped closer, brand new dress shoes slipping slightly on the wet rock. He gripped the rocky wall as hard as he could as he scooted closer. "Hide!"

This time the other reacted. He slowly opened an eye, brow furrowing, unsure as to whether he'd really heard anything or not. He swiveled his head and started, surprised to see the taller man slowly moving closer.

"Toshiya! What are you doing here?" He started to stand. "Be careful, or you're going to fall."

"Why did you leave like that?" Toshiya shouted over the water's noisy decent. "What's wrong?" He took a step closer, then his foot flew out from under him. With a startled cry, he fell over the edge.

"Toshiya!" Hide dove into the water after him, surfacing just behind the sputtering man. He grabbed ahold of the taller man's slim waist and dragged him out from under the pounding waterfall and towards the shore. "Quit struggling!" he growled and Toshiya instantly went limp, allowing the better swimmer to guide him across the large pool until he felt solid earth beneath his feet. They crawled up onto the mushy grass, panting from fear and exertion, flopping exhausted onto the ground.

Hide rolled onto his back, staring up at the bright sun, chest heaving up and down as he forced much needed air into his lungs. "That was utterly stupid."

Toshiya turned his head, still on his stomach, and sighed. "I'm sorry."

"Why did you follow me?"

"Why did you run away?"

Hide turned his head to the side, away from the other man and closed his eyes. "I heard you and Kirito....I heard you say...."

"I don't know what you heard, but I certainly don't think you took it the right way."

Hide snorted. "I heard you tell him you loved-"

"You."

Hide's head snapped around, pink hair sending wet dropplets across his face. "What?"

Toshiya sat up and scooted closer. "I was telling Kirito that I loved you," he whispered, "no one else." He planted one hand on each side of the smaller man's shoulders. "If you had come inside, you would have seen the beautiful, romantic dinner I had set out for us." He shifted his weight and brought one hand up to brush away a stray lock of fuschia hair from infront of Hide's eyes. "I wanted to surprise you."

Hide closed his eyes, sighing heavily. "And Miyavi...?"

"Just friends." Toshiya smiled. "We realized that we still loved each other, yes, but not in the way real lovers do. We're still going to stay in touch, but no more bi-weekly trips."

Hide ran his fingers over the soaking wet, now completly ruined silk shirt hanging off the other man's body. "I'm such a fool."

"No, I was." Toshiya bent down and placed a soft kiss on Hide's lips. "I should not have toyed with you like I did. I just.... I didn't know what I wanted, and perhaps I was clinging to something I hadn't really realized had already changed." He snuggled his face in the other man's wet hair. "But I know now. I know I want you, if you'll have me."

Hide grabbed Toshiya's face and brought it back to his, kissing him passionately.

"Of course I do, baka," he said after a moment. "Would I have been this upset if I didn't?"

Toshiya grinned, fingers toying with the belt around Hide's waterlogged jeans.

"Did you really have a romantic dinner planned?" Hide asked, his voice slightly husky as the other man's fingers trailed over him, pressing ever so lightly on the growing bulge under his pants.

Toshiya nodded slowly. "I had the whole night planned out. Candles... your favorite soup... even bought this brand new outfit just for you...." he pressed more firmly and Hide squirmed. "I even had this wonderful little speech all prepared, about how I had grown to love you more over this past year than even I had realized." He scratched harder through the fabric and Hide gasped.

"Then what?" the other man breathed heavily.

Toshiya leaned down close to whisper in Hide's ear. "After dinner,I was going to let you fuck my brains out."

Hide groaned and tore at the other man's clothing, nearly ripping all the buttons off the silk shirt as he pulled it open and off Toshiya's chest, pausing only breiefly to allow the other man to remove his own shirt. He couldn't help growling when Toshiya scooted back, out his reach, and began removing his own pants, but quickly realized that in their positions it would be difficult for him to do so. He occupied his hands by removing the rest of his clothing, lifting his hips and tossing them away.

Instantly, the other man was straddling him, weight on his knees, covering Hide's face in kisses. Hide arched into him, hot flesh against hot flesh, and his hands traveled around Toshiya's firm ass, lower, parting his smooth skin. Suddenly, he felt hard rubber and drew back his hand.

"What the..."

Toshiya giggled and reached under him. He closed his eyes and grunted slightly, then pulled his hand back. Hide's eyes widdened as the other man set the plug on top of his wet clothes beside them. The bigger man leaned forward, licking along Hide's collarbone, his other hand running down his stomach to his lover's hardening member.

"I told you I was prepared."

Hide chuckled as Toshiya leaned around him, fishing inside his pockets until he produced a small bottle of lube. He rocked back on his heels and began spreading it's contents over Hide's throbbing cock. The other man moaned as Toshiya worked slowly, fingers sliding up and down the shaft, paying special attention to the large vein running up the side. He bent down and kissed the head, grinning at the gasp escaping Hide's lips.

Hide couldn't take it anymore and grabbed Toshiya's hips, guiding him up higher, positioning his cock at the other man's entrance. Toshiya spread his stance as wide as he could, took a deep breath, and lowered, impaling himself over Hide's erection.

With a gasp, Hide dug his fingers into Toshiya's hips as the other man's warm body engulfed him all the way to the hilt. Nearly trembling with need, he forced himself to calm down until the other was ready, his breath coming in harsh gasps.

Toshiya slowly lifted up on thin but strong legs, nearly high enough to pull Hide all the way out, then dropped down sharply, stopping himself just before he crushed the other man with his weight. Toshiya began to move up and down, setting his own pace, little mewels of pleasure soon escaping his lips. He looked down at the other man, pink hair splayed on the grass around them, eyes wide and dark with lust, and smiled. He moved his hands up and down the smaller man's chest, course fingertips resting soft skin. One hand traveled to his own painful erection, and he began stroking himself in time with his movements.

Hide groaned, hips bucking even as the other lifted off him. His fingers dug into Toshiya's soft thighs, urging him faster. The feel of the other man, so warm and tight around him, thn seeing him touching himself, face flushed head rolling to the side as pleasure washed over him, went straight to his cock.

Suddenly, Toshiya groaned loudly, head thrown back as his body spasmed. Hide watched in amazement at the beauty of his lover, body racked in orgasm, and felt his own follow, catching him by surprise.

Moments later, Toshiya eased off him, sinking down to the warm grass, chest heaving, body trembling. He closed his eyes, mind still caught in the euphoria, when he felt a hand caressing his cheek. He opened his eyes to Hide smiling gently beside him.

"We should have misunderstandings like this more often."
