Chapter 19

++++++++++

"So you having fun so far?" Carrie asked with a smile as they walked back to the car. They're hands were linked together between them, and Kelly was carrying her heels in her free hand.

"You know, yea, I am," she smiled, allowing Carrie to twirl her.

"Well, what do you say we skip those boring parties and go have some fun?"

"I'd say you are my most favorite person in the world," Kelly replied as they reached the limo, climbing inside as the driver held the door open. "So where are we going?"

Carrie shrugged.

"Oh, is this you making it worth my while?" Kelly asked, her eyes sparking.

"Maybe," Carrie smiled, handing her her bag of clothes. "Now you should change."

Kelly raised an eyebrow.

"No peeking," Carrie laughed, covering her own eyes. "I swear."

+++++++++

"Where are we?" Kelly asked as she was helped out the limo, Carrie's hand covering her eyes, both had changed into jeans and a shirt.

"Hold on," Carrie laughed, guiding her down a slight hill. "One more second," Carrie said, bringing her to the perfect spot. "Ok," she nodded, taking her hand off her eyes.

Kelly opened her eyes, and let out a soft, "Wow," at the beautiful landscape that was surrounding her. She was facing a smooth river that was lighted beautifully with couples scattered around the riverwalk. Kelly figured they were in a park of some kind from all of the beautiful trees surrounding them and deep green grass beneath them. "This is so gorgeous," Kelly told her.

"Wait, it gets better," Carrie smiled, happy that she liked it. She guided Kelly all the way down the remaining slope to where the land was level, between the hill and the river walk. "You up for a rematch?" she asked, watching as Kelly's eyes danced with excitement.

"Is that?"

"Lawn bowling," Carrie nodded. "Yep. I figured, it was about time I show you that I'm not as bad as I first seemed."

Kelly shook her head in awe as she turned to the blond country singer, "You are so amazing."

"I try," she shrugged.

"No, seriously. This has got to be like the coolest thing anyone has ever done for me," Kelly insisted.

"So, does this mean game on?"

"Game on," she nodded.

++++++++

"So, all in all?" Carrie asked. Kelly was snuggled up next to her as they lay on the ground, the cool grass beneath their backs.

"Definitely the coolest night ever," Kelly nodded.

"You ready to head back?"

"Already?"

"It's three in the morning," Carrie reminded her.

"I thought we were gonna wait till the stars came out," Kelly frowned, looking up at the glazed over sky.

"This is L.A.," Carrie pointed out. "The stars aren't going to come out."

"True," Kelly sighed, sitting up, not wanting the night to end.

"Come on," Carrie said, standing up and offering the Texan her hand.

Kelly took it, standing. They both wiped the grass off their backs as they made their way back to the limo. They climbed into the back and soon felt the start of the engine.

"Tired?" Carrie asked as Kelly tried to stifle a yawn.

"Yea," Kelly nodded guiltily. "Long day."

"I know," Carrie smiled. "Come here," she said, patting her legs.

Kelly smiled as she was pulled onto Carrie's lap, snuggling into the warm body as Carrie wrapped her arms around her.

"I'm glad you had fun," Carrie commented.

"How could I not?" Kelly asked , looking up at her.

"Kell?"

"Yea?"

"Can I kiss you?" Carrie asked, nervously.

"Um, isn't that what you've been doing?" Kelly said, looking at her confusedly.

"No, I mean, like kiss you, kiss you."

Kelly subconsciously bit her bottom lip, feeling her heart melt under Carrie's reassuring gaze. She felt a soft hand rise to her cheek, gently cupping her face, and she nodded, not trusting words as her lips pressed against Carrie's as they had so many times before. She turned her body so that she was facing the country singer, allowing herself to get into a more comfortable position. She felt a hand on her hip and she parted her lips, deepening the kiss, her mind shutting off.

Carrie smiled into the kiss, finally getting to feel the full softness of those perfect pink lips she had been craving. She pulled Kelly closer as the Texan straddled her legs, settling into her lap. Carrie ran a hand through her hair, earning the softest of moans as she playfully tugged on Kelly's bottom lip. She felt Kelly pushing into her, her hand's resting on Carrie's sides.

Kelly sighed as she felt Carrie's mouth open more, allowing their two tongues to meet. She felt Carrie's hand move to her lower back, pulling her to where their two bodies were touching, but Kelly had to pull back, searching for air as her head spun from the fogginess. She grinned at Carrie who giggled at the lopsided smile.

"Yea," she nodded in agreement, giving her a soft kiss.

"And I think I found a new favorite hobby," Kelly smiled, pulling Carrie back to her.

++++++++

"Kell," Carrie laughed, pulling away. Kelly just looked at her with a smile.

"We've been parked outside of your house for ten minutes. Don't you think it's time you go inside?"

She shook her head, "No. I'm perfectly content where I'm at."

"Me too," Carrie said, wrapping her arms around her. "But honestly, it's getting late, and I can't feel my legs anymore."

Kelly laughed, blushingly, "Sorry."

"Don't be. I had so much fun tonight," Carrie admitted, tracing a finger along Kelly's jaw, stopping just below her chin and pulling her forward for another kiss. She was amazed at just how gentle Kelly could be. She was used to guys with rough hands and greedy lips. This was so different than what she had grown complacent with. Kelly's hands were soft and small, and her lips were so warm and giving. She was glad she was sitting, because this was definitely one of those weak in the knees moments.

Kelly slowly pulled away, ending with a sweet chaste kiss. She smiled as they locked eyes, enjoying the feeling of giddiness that was washing over her.

"I had fun too," she finally replied.

"I'm glad," Carrie smiled, feeling herself leaning in for another kiss.

"Do you wanna come inside?" Kelly asked, causing Carrie to pull back. She looked at the Texan with a slightly shocked face.

"I didn't mean it like that," she laughed nervously. "I just meant, neither of us want to leave, and you need to get some circulation back in your legs, and I miss the warmth of having you next to me when I go to sleep."

"Alright," Carrie nodded with a smile as Kelly climbed off her lap.

++++++++

"Now isn't this better?" Kelly asked as they lay side-by-side, facing each other in her bed.

"I can wiggle my toes," Carrie smiled.

"How bout wiggling your lips?"

Carrie scrunched up her nose, "Yea, that didn't work."

"I know," Kelly laughed. "But it's one of those things that you have to say, no matter how dumb you know it sounds."

"Yea," Carrie smiled, pulling her closer. "So how lucky am I?"

"It depends where this conversation is going," she raised an eyebrow.

"I mean, I got to spend the night with the most loved female performer in the country. You know how many people would kill to be me right now?"

"Well it wouldn't matter."

"Why?"

"Cause you are the only one that I would want to spend it with," Kelly said sweetly, earning a gentle kiss that left her with a smile.

"So what's the plans for tomorrow?" Carrie asked, turning onto her back as Kelly snuggled into her side.

"I think I have a television interview, though I couldn't tell you for what," she admitted. "You?"

"I have my first day off in three and a half weeks," she smiled.

"You wanna com with me?" Kelly asked. "Wait no. Why'd you want to come to work on your day off? Never mind."

"No, I'd love to go," Carrie replied. "I love watching you in interviews and stuff."

"So you'll come?"

"Yea."

"Right on," Kelly smiled. "We can go get something to eat after if you want."

"Right on," Carrie mocked.

"Shut up," Kelly laughed, pushing her playfully.

Carrie just leaned forward for a soft kiss, making the Texan giggle.

"I love this," she admitted.

"What?"

"This. Just me and you and this nervous giddy feeling I get whenever I'm around you."

"I love it too," Carrie smiled, pulling her closer. She pushed a curl off Kelly's forehead before kissing it.
