Moving On
Chapter 2
Chapter 2
The coroner had bought the body back to the morgue for processing. Jen sat in her office looking over notes and pictures of things she had collected at the scene hoping to find a connection. All she had was bullet shells from the gun of the person who shot the guy. She heard a knock on her door.
“Come in” she said. She looked up and saw Sean walking in. “What’s up? She asked glancing back down at her photos and notes.
“Nothing really, just to see how your doing?” he said sitting on her desk.
“Fine, why do you ask Sean?”
“Well you have been here what 3 months now, and don’t seem to be going out or doing anything while off work.”
“What concern is it of yours what I do after work.” She snapped her head up glaring at him. She had been attracted to Sean from Day one; he was perfection in her eyes. His dark brown eyes, his caramel skin, the muscles that she was dying to run her hands over.
She then got the nerve to ask him about the wedding band.
“Sean, where is the ring you always wear?”
He looked down at his hand running his finger across where he used to wear the ring.
“I decided to put it up. It’s been a year and I have decided to move on in my life. I can’t let this drag me down day after day.” He told her.
“Are you okay with this?” she asked with concern in her eyes.
“I think it’s the best decision. Stacy wouldn’t mind, she would approve of my decision. I still love her in my heart. That’s what counts.”
“You’re brave for doing that Sean.” She told him. She got up from behind her desk and walked around to him.
“If you ever need anything, just ask me all right?”
“Well there is one thing.” He said with a smile.
“What?”
“Come over for dinner tonight.”
Jen looked at him with a look of shock on her face. She thought about it for a minute before giving him an answer.
“Are you sure Sean?” she asked before answering.
“Jen, I have not had anyone over in a year, I could use the company and you probably could to right?”
“Yah, I guess I could.”
“All right, it's settled then. Come on over at 6:00, do you know where my place is.?”
“A house on the beach is all I know.”
“I’ll give you directions.” He said getting a piece of paper off her desk.
