Secrets don't make friends

She fell asleep around 12 and went to work at 10 the next day. She worked in a small music store that hardly anybody came into she was bored so she browsed through the CDs and picked out which ones she'd buy next she got off of work at 6 and went home to any empty apartment. There was a message on her machine.
"Hey babe its me, we just got here it's about 12 I'll try back later." she picked up the phone and called tony

"Hello?"
"Hey! what are you doing?"
"Waiting for Taking Back Sunday to play."
"Oh."
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing i just got off of work."
"Oh." she could hear people talking in the background
"what time do they play?"
"In a few minutes."
"Its barely 6."
"Yeah but were on the west coast so its like 9 here."
"Oh yeah i forgot."
"I'll call you back once I'm done setting up ok?"
"Ok bye." he hung up

She took a shower and changed Tony never called her back until the next day.

"Sorry i didn't call you back but i forgot."
"Oh."
"I got another tattoo."
"when?"
"Last night before you called."
"Oh of what?"
"Your name."
"My name?"
"Yeah i got it on my chest."
"Aww i thought you said you'd never get anything like that."
"I did but i love you so much."
"I love you too."
"I can't wait to see you."
"I know 29 more days." he laughed
"I gotta go to work."
"Ok love you bye."
"Love you too bye."

********A month later*************
Kayla's flight landed and she was waiting for somebody to pick her up from the airport. A few minutes later she walked back inside to check the time and then back outside. She saw Adam looking around for her he saw her and opened his arms for a hug.

"Hey what are you doing here?"
"Tony's still asleep."
"really?"
"Yeah i think he forgot your flight was this early."
"Oh." they got in this van they probably rented from a car company
"It smells in here." she said with a disgusted look on her face
"Doesn't it? i kept saying that but nobody believed me."
"Oh."
"Tonight were gonna go to a club or something are you gonna come?"
"I donno is tony going?" he shrugged his shoulders
"Why don't you guys talk anymore?"
"Because...we got into this argument a while ago and now..."
"what?"
"I don't want to say anything because you're together and i don't want you to be mad at me."
"Ok."
"So we'll just say we got into an argument."
"Ok." they pulled into the parking lot of the hotel
"Which room is tony in?"
"I don't know."
"Ok." they walked into the lobby and saw Matt

"Matt!"
"Kayla!" they both hugged each other
"I didn't know you were coming, nobody tells me anything."
"Aww Poor Mattie." he hated when she called him that
"do you know where tony's room is?"
"I think its right next to mine."
"ok so where's your room?"
"I'm gonna go." Adam announced
"Ok i'll talk to you later."
"Ok bye."
"Later." he walked away

(Adams point of view)
It was about 2 years ago when i met Kayla she was a beautiful girl and tony was a great guy. They seemed so happy together and tony seemed like he was really in love with her. He'd buy her flowers, write her poems and call her all the time i was the only one who saw through his hopeless romantic act. It was then i realized that i liked Kayla she was an amazing person but tony was at the time my best friend so i wasn't going to do a thing about it.

Then one night we went out to a bar across from our hotel and he got half drunk. We were having a good time just the 2 of us when these 2 girls came over they were dressed skimpily and started to flirt with us.

"You look really familiar." the one named Brenda said
"I know i was thinking the same thing." the one named Jane agreed
"Oh well he's in a band."
"Really?" Brenda smiled
"Do you play anything?" Jane asked
"I play bass but not in the band."
"Huh?"
"He knows how to play bass but in the band he sings."
"Oh."
"I love singers." Brenda said pressing up against me so i could purposely see down her shirt.
"Are you in his band?" Jane asked tony
"No i am just a roadie."
"Oh." she had a disappointed look on her face
"Hold on guys we'll be right back."
"Ok." they walked a few steps away and were whispering
"Damn their hot." tony said
"Their ok."
"BUT I WANT ADAM HE'S HOT!" i heard Jane screech
"I don't want either of them." I mumbled before finishing my drink
"Huh?" tony asked
"I could get...I've gotten better girls then that at one of my concerts."
"Oh."
"I'm just gonna go back to the hotel." i left and stayed in my hotel room for an hour watching a movie until i got bored and went to see where tony was.

I saw the light in his room was on so i was going to knock on the door
"Tony." a girls voice moaned i assumed it was Kayla's i started walking away when i heard
"Me next." another girls voice i recognized it as Jane's he was fucking those 2 girls in his room.

I walked back inside to my room and thought about calling Kayla but i decided to wait and let tony tell her. 20 minutes later I walked onto the balcony of my room and saw the 2 girls leaving i walked next door to tony's room.

"Hey...I'm really tired right now." he yawned
"I bet you are."
"Oh you heard that?"
"Yeah."
"I know I'm a stud right?"
"No you're an asshole, are you going to tell Kayla?"
"Nah."
"what?"
"why are you so shocked its not like you've never done anything like that before."
"But you're in a serious relationship."
"So? why does it matter?"
"Kayla is a great girl and she's become one of my good friends."
"You like her don't you?"
"Yeah i do."
"We'll she's with me."
"And you don't deserve her."
"Come on this is just a 1 time thing, it's not like i do it all the time."
"I know you're pretending to be in love with her, i know you steal money from her and now you're cheating on her?"
"Yeah and? Adam she doesn't love you and if you tell her she won't believe you." he was right
"I know but you don't deserve her."
"I know." he scratched his head
"You wanna get something to eat?" he asked
"No."
"oh what now you're disgusted?"
"Yeah." I walked to the door
"I'm not gonna tell Kayla but you don't deserve her."
"And you do?"
"Maybe i don't but she deserves better than you."
"so what does this mean were not friends anymore? I don't care i never liked you anyway."
"yeah and i'm not surprised by that." i walked out the door a few weeks later tony proposed to Kayla.

I know he cheats on her all the time now and he steals money from her but he's fooling everybody they all think he's in love with her. I know he's not he doesn't care about her half as much as i do but i could never tell her because she doesn't think of me that way.
