Part Two - The Tom in the Alley

"And pray, what the hell are you doing here anyway?" The smooth voice turned quickly into a growl....

Toshiya turned to the other vampire slowly, his long black cloak swinging gently around his legs. The wide brim of his hat casting shadows around his eyes, but he knows the other does not miss the dangerous glitter as he studies him.

"Doing here?" Toshiya asks, smiling. He continues to play with his cloak and he shrugs gently. "I was just passing through, and leaving right now..." He lifts his chin up so the other can see his eyes. Soft, doe brown.. he has black eyeliner smudged artfully around them.

"You've been 'just passing through' this area for five hours now. Something has caught your interest?"

"Die... Are you trying to say I've been hunting in your territory?" Toshiya looks absolutely shocked, not to mention hurt and offended. It doesn't fool the other vampire at all.

"No, I'm not -trying- to say that." Die states, a saucy look on his strong, handsome face. His own eyes are as black as obsidian, and no make up touches his pointedly masculine features. He looked aggressive, and indeed, he was. But he also picked his battles. The more feminine Toshiya smiles, showing off the gap between his fangs. It made Die's lip twitch into a rough smirk. He knows the other is about to say something, most likely something accompanied by a little giggle and a feigning of innocence. He knew his younger brother too well, every little detail, every little annoying action. Toshiya had always irked him to no end. He sometimes wondered why Kaoru had even embraced the brat.. but then, their Sire -had- always been so very mysterious, even to the both of them.

"Well," Toshiya purred, "if you're not saying that I'm poaching... which I'm not, mind you.."

"No." Die's voice is soft, a little growl gracing it.

"No, what?" Toshiya looked at him as though he'd started to grow a second head. Then, an annoyed look crosses the pretty features.

"No, I wasn't -trying- to say that. I was actually doing so." Die smiles lightly, dropping down from the roof with a flutter of the loose, black, see-thru gauzen shirt he was wearing open over his chest. He lands with all the grace of a cat, then he leans against the wall at his back, bending his left knee so the bottom of his booted foot was pressed against the bricks. "You see, Toshiya, if I were -trying- to say something, it would have come out in a sniveling panic. . . . but then, I do strive not to sound like you."

"You think I speak with sniveling panic?" Toshiya's features were twisted in a growl, his doe eyes narrowed, his head bowed slightly, fangs on display fully. "You always did go around giving yourself airs." He snarls. "What makes you think I'm afraid of you?"

Die has by this time reached into his jean's pocket, drawn out a cigarette pack and a lighter. He takes out one cancr stick, returns the pack. The cig goes to his lips and he lights it as his younger 'sibiling' snarls a warning at him. He smirks at the threat. After returning the lighter to his pocket, he takes a deep drag of his cig, eyeing the dark beauty before him with an amused obsidian stare.

"Well?" Toshiya looks all but ready to strike, eyes glittering dangerously in the shadows cloaking his face due to wide brim of his hat.

Die shrugs after a moment and brings the cancer stick from his lips. He eyes the other a moment, humor making his eyes sparkle like black glass. A flick of the cigarette sends ashes in a floating scatter down to the filthy alleyway ground. "Because," he gestures then towards Toshiya, cigarette trapped between the tips of his fingers, "You -are- afriad of me."

"Oh, am I?" The pretty vampire hissed, crouching lower. "Well, shall I show you my fear?" And with that, he attacked, flying at Die in a flurry of black cloak; lips snarling, eyes glowing bright.

"By all means." Die whispers right as Toshiya launches. He flicks his cig away from himself, moving calmly but swiftly to the opposing wall. Toshiya, meanwhile, has landed in another crouch on the wall on which Die had just been leaning. He snarls once more, pounds one fist on the bricks and glowers at Die.

"Stop running!" Toshiya hissed, lowering himself over the bricks, pointing one long, elegant finger at the other. He smiles nastily when he sees the obsidian eyes narrow in annoyance, and he gives a dry laugh. "Now, -who- is afraid of -who-?"

"Do not even -think- that I fear you, little brother." Die's head is bowed lightly, eyes locked on Toshiya. There is a light snarl on his lips, but he does not move to attack.

"Then why do you hesitate?" Toshiya laughed once more, crawling across the wall like a slinky, over sized cat. He keeps his glittering eyes on the other vampire. "Why not attack?"

"Because," Die smiles, "You want me to. And you know me, Totchi . . . I don't -ever- give you what you want." His eyes then cast towards the window beyond which Kyo dwells. Toshiya's eyes travel there as well. They can both hear the young man moving about. The two vampires look at one another, growl softly . . . and then the alley way is completely empty save for it's filth and it's shadows.

--
Kyo comes to his window. He looks out of it, scanning the darkness slowly. A moment later, he opens the window and climbs out of it so that he stands on the metal grating of his fire escape's floor. He hugs himself against the cool night air, eyes still scanning the area. The young bottle blonde can feel his heart thudding in his chest. Nervousness, lust... fear... all playing with his mind. He jumps when something crashes in the near by darkness. A loud, clanging crash which echoes around the alleyway for a moment. His hand has slapped over the tiny twin wounds on his neck and he draws back closer to the window, shaking in fear, and strangely, need. Then, however, he hears the mewling of a cat, and his hand slowly lowers after a moment as the feline makes its way from the shadows, shaking a banana peel from off its head. Kyo laughs lightly, trying to contain the nerves he still feels, seeing the cat. It is a familiar orange tabby . . a tom. He feeds the cat when he can afford the extra food, placing it outside. His own cat, a calico, female, got really jealous over this fact, and would attack his pet rat's habitat when he did. He rolled his eyes at the feline's attitude. She attacked, but never carried out her threat. She was a fat animal, and didn't like to catch her own food... the rat was very fast, after all. Just goes to show how lazy she really was, and how moody. Slowly, Kyo hugs himself once more, and he withdraws back through his window, thoughts of cats and rats on his mind as he goes. Once inside his apartment, he takes one last look around the alleyway through the glass of his window, then he shuts the blinds and draws his black out curtains, shutting out the outside world. In about half an hour, he will return to bed, pondering deeply the strange dream he'd had and the even stranger appearance of the twin wounds which followed it. The noises in the alleyway were forgotten, written off to the late night trash hunting of a stray tabby cat. He does not know that the entire time he'd been out there in the alleyway, he'd been watched.

After Kyo leaves and closes the curtains, Die steps out from the darkness. He picks up the tabby cat gently, rubbing it between the ears as he looks at the closed window. Seconds later, he is on the fire escape. He still holds the tabby, petting it gently as it purrs and rubs its face against him. He doesn't care that he has cat hair all over him.

"Well, well," He murmurs. "Now, I see why Toshiya has been passing through here every night." He holds up the cat and laughs at it lightly, then he gently releases it and the cat jumps down. It curls next to his feet and he reaches out and gently touches the glass of the window before him. He wanted to feed on the youth behind the window, but he didn't want to kill him. He could tell that Toshiya had taken more than his fill. Greedy slut that his younger brother was... The young man would be weak, too weak to feed fully from again that night without leaving him ill. Die sighs gently to himself, fingers still tracing the glass. The youth was a beauty. Small, toned body graced with tattoos. . . Face was rounded, with soft, full lips which were pierced. Gentle softness paired with cold silver. He liked that . . . And then there were the boy's eyes. Strong, soulful eyes. . . pale amber, emotional, bottomless. Die purred at the thought of the boy, his form, his face, his eyes. Yes, the young man had been a beauty. Toshiya did, he had to admit, have exquisite tastes in men. Die licks his lips and smirks.

"Tomorrow night, little one.." He murmurs, slowly turning from the window. "Tomorrow night." He gets up on the railing, then jumps down to the ground. His movement is smooth, beautiful. He is soon walking from the scene, full of confidence that the next evening he would begin to spoil whatever plan it was which Toshiya had for the youth.
