Chapter Two
"Hello Alexandra." Rob said, knowing she hated her full name. He appeared calm on the outside but inside he was already feeling his blood pressure rise. She was going to cause him nothing but trouble for the next three months. She frowned slightly at her name and then walked past him to the luggage carousel, where she pointed at two bags and said,
"Those are mine."
"So?" He replied. She stood there waiting for him to cave and pick up her bags and he stood there, not willing to let her win their first battle of wills.
"So? So pick them up. Let's go I am exhausted."" She said. He just shrugged and refused to pick up the bags. She narrowed her eyes at him.
"This is so typical." She said to him.
"Typical?" He repeated.
"Yes, you never behaved like a gentleman when you were younger and it appears you haven't changed." She taunted as she reached for her luggage. Rob almost reached out for one of the bags but then realized she was playing him , so he just let her grab her suitcases and then turned to leave without making sure she was following him.
"You expect me to live in this dump?" She asked standing in her room. It was a huge room, with a computer and desk, TV and private bathroom. Rob mentally counted to ten before he spoke. Why did this girl always get to him? He wondered.
"If you don't like it you are free to go somewhere else." He said calmly. He had decided he would not let her drag him into one of the squabbles they had always engaged in.
"Well, this place is slightly better than a Roach Motel. I guess it will do. It is only three months." She said sitting on the huge bed and bouncing a bit.
"I keep telling myself that too." Rob said as he left the room.
"Bye Skiddles" She said. Rob kept walking, resisting the urge to throw her out on her ass. He went to his office and dialed Jon's number.
"Hello?" Jon said.
"I am already regretting this. She keeps calling me Skiddles!"
Jon laughed. "Skiddles! I forgot about that." Jon said.
"Well forget it again." Rob growled.
"I'll never mention it again." Jon promised solemnly.
"You are going to owe me seriously Jon. I want you to name all your kids Rob. And you had better let me shag Nikki every Christmas." Rob said, feeling more like himself now that he was away from Lex.
"Well, I'll name every other kid Rob, Roberta if its a girl. And I'll let you shag Nikki on your birthdays. How that?" Jon said laughing.
"Ok deal."
"Good. Look Rob, me and my family really appreciate this. We know you don't get on with Lex but we feel better knowing she is safe while she is there." Jon said. Rob was picturing himself dragging Lex through the house by her hair and he chuckled silently. He chatted with Jon for a few more moments before he went out to the kitchen. He saw Lex bent over in the fridge, rummaging around. He couldn't help but notice that her ass was nice and firm, in her jeans. But when she stood up he felt the rage boiling again. She was drinking his last Strawberry Slimfast! With a huge smile on her face she let out a satisfied belch. Oh it was war now, he thought.
