Teaching Amy
The next morning there was a tense air on the set, especially around Johnny. Everyone had read all the leading news papers and magazines.
For there smack right on the front of the news paper and magazine covers was a large blown up picture of Winona kissing her Mermaids co-star Michael Schoeffling.
Johnny looked pissed as he came out of his trailer, having just finished rowing with Winona over the phone. Everyone had heard him raging inside of his trailer.
Everyone had read at least one of the articles. None were at all flattering when Winona was described. Johnny seemed to be the one receiving the sympathy from the readers, even the journalists who wrote the articles were sympathetic to Johnny.
The article had stated that Winona was seen all over her co-star as they entered a near by hotel in LA. Then there was pictures showing her the next morning coming out of the same hotel, standing by the entrance kissing Michael, both were wearing the same clothes from the night before.
Johnny picked up the nearest magazine and violently threw it into the nearest waste paper basket. He spat coldly “the only reason she was so dam stupid and openly screwed around with that mook, was because she never expected the press to catch her.”
He added dryly “at the risk of sounding conceited, could someone please tell me when her career really started to kick off?”
Ricky said “she got decent reviews for the movies she was in before she met you. But the press weren’t falling over them selves to plaster her face all over the papers and magazines covers until she was engaged to you.”
John nodded “I agree it was being engaged to you that boosted her career and got her the media attention that she had been wanting. And I’m not just saying that to blow smoke up your ass Johnny.”
Johnny sat next to Amy between her and Susan Tyrrell. Johnny sighed “she should have never accepted my proposal if she was not willing to see it through. I hate being made a dam fool of. I don’t care about the press; it’s what’s she has done to me personally, not professionally.”
Everyone noticed Amy had a magazine in front of her. John asked “so Amy what do you think of this whole thing?” Amy frowned “why? What’s this got to do with me? My opinion won’t change the fact Winona was unfaithful.
That she most likely never grasped the concept that when you are engaged to be married some one else, that you don’t go sleeping around, especially with your co-stars that’s just tacky.”
Most of the cast had to stifle their laughter at her reply. Amy clearly did not know what to think, and it was evident she didn’t want to get involved.
Ricky decided to have some fun “you really don’t like her do you Amy?” Amy smirked, surprising them all, Johnny included “in all honestly no I don’t. She could be engaged to be married to the president of the United States and still the mere sound of her voice would grate on my nervous.”
She added scowling besides “I met her at a party of one of my friends I met since I first started in the business, for some strange reason, that friend also happens to know Winona.”
She shrugged “I guess she found out from Johnny or someone that I’d gotten the role of Allison. She told me in none uncertain terms to do my job and stay the hell away from her fiancée, that if I even looked at him wrong she would make my life a living hell.”
Johnny frowned and his eyes narrowed as he asked “how long ago was that?” Amy replied “the party was about a month after I fainted like a dead horse at John’s house. I guess she found out about that, and then came to her own conclusion.”
Johnny shook his head “she never could stand the fact that I generate a lot of attention from the female population, especially the teen generation. Geez Winona’s a teenager her self.”
John sighed and said “any way back to business. I cut yesterdays shoot between Johnny and Amy short. I noticed the slight problem, I won’t go into great detail, but that scene needs to be re-filmed tonight.”
Johnny and Amy exclaimed at the same time “WHAT?” Most of the cast noticed John was smirking at the out burst from Johnny and Amy who were both flushed and refusing to meet each others eyes.
John smiled Cheshire cat like “surely the same problem from last night won’t occur again will it?” Johnny scowled and replied through clenched teeth “I can’t promise that, I have no control over it, in less you stuff Amy in a bin bag, and maybe not even then.”
Amy frowned and turned to Johnny “surely now that Winona’s done what she has, you won’t have the same problem from the night before?”
Johnny smirked and cleared his throat “don’t be so such of that, and don’t sell your self short either. For your information, it was not Winona who caused last night’s problem.”
Amy’s frowned deepened “if she didn’t then what did?” Johnny raised and eye brow and gave her a pointed look and commented “not even if John was to stuff you in a bin bag would that prevent a repeat of last night.”
Amy looked puzzled for a moment longer before her eyes widened almost comically she began to stuttered “oh right, I see.” She flushed and covered her boiling hot cheeks with her hands.
John lost it, and began to laugh out a loud. Iggy asked “what on earth did we all miss? What happened last night?” Johnny and Amy said at the same time “DON’T ASK!”
John had to sit down on the chair as he shook with silent mirth. He gasped between his laughter “lets just say this; Johnny is not at all in the least immune to Amy’s charms.
And because of that, and the fact their faces were so dam red I had to cut the scene short, about a minute and a half, a minute and a half that I want in this movie.”
Johnny and Amy yelled horrified “JOHN!” Iggy suddenly smirked at Johnny, having finally caught onto what had happened. He turned to Amy “you thought that he was thinking of Winona when last nights little problem occurred?”
Amy flushed brightly “how was I supposed to know? Compared to Winona I’m a big nobody. Grown men that are not immature teenage fumbling boys do not react to me like that.”
Johnny commented “it was not Winona who was lying under me during last nights filming.” Susan asked “what scene did you film last night?”
Amy looked pained “that same one that made me faint at John's during that audition.” Suddenly Ricky and Tracy began laughing, having both been there during that audition.
