Just A Prelude

I woke up to the sunlight peeking through the window shades I turn to look at the clock 7:30 in the morning are you kidding, I should still be sleeping but I turn to look at Davey’s bed empty huh, but I put it off thinking he just went to the hotel lobby, back to bed but just as I’m about to lay down I hear the door unlock and in walks Davey looking as radiant as ever I notice he has his sunglasses on his head, he only wears them when he doesn’t have make-up on or in his words” His Face”.”Hey your up great I got us breakfast” he smiled at me as he set the food on the small table that faced outside the hotel window view that was lovely New York City. I got off the bed to join Davey at the table, he gave me a smile as I sat down guess I had a bad case of bed head or something. “This is yummy” I looked up to see Davey chowing down with a smile on his face as if to show how content he was with the food. I on the other hand haven’t touched the food at all “Jade what’s bothering you, you can tell me “, I looked at Davey’s face which showed genuine concern.(Just tell him it’s been eating away at you for so long). “Davey can I confess something to you” I said that so low it almost sounded like a faint whisper,” Sure Jade please tell me “ Davey gave me a look with almost pleading eyes.”Davey I…” I was cut off by a knock at the door” I’m so sorry Jade can you hang on a minute”. Davey looked at me as I faked a smile watching him stand to open the door,” Hey you guys ready for a warm-up down at the studio”, it was Hunter and Adam, they both looked over Davey to see me sitting at the table, I smiled but I was really thinking crappy timing guys. “ Yeah I’m ready how about you Jade”? , Davey asked turning to look at me with a smile. “Sure I’m up for it” I replied standing up from my chair.” We’ll meet you guys down in the lobby alright”, Davey replied as he turned to look at me” Sure no problem” Hunter responded. Davey waved bye and closed the door “Good now that they are gone please finish what you were about to say” Davey looked at me with that same look of concern on his face” Oh don’t worry about it Davey its not that big a deal “, I said with another fake smile.” Not that big a deal Jade come on please don’t lie you know it’s a big deal I could tell by the look on your face when you first said anything” Davey touched my arm and turned me around to face him I looked him in those breath-taking brown eyes “ I said don’t worry about it okay let’s just go meet up with the guys” I smiled but Davey was looking straight at me he knew I was lying. I walked to open the door as Davey walked ahead of me he turned to look at me once more with a somewhat sad expression God I can’t tell you how the look in his eyes killed me inside.
