"So Ville, what exactly do you do for a living?" Paul Merchand asked as the family sat down to dinner that night.

Davey blushed, "Dad!"

"David, I'm just trying to get to know your boyfriend." Mr. Merchand said, giving his son a silencing look. He was only concerned because Davey was a famous musician and he didn't want anyone taking advantage of him, "So?" he asked, turning back to Ville.

Ville coughed, "Um, I don't do anything." he blushed, "My, um, father left me a great deal of money and I've invested it."

"Hmm." Mr. Merchand was not pleased, but he couldn't object as long as he wasn't sucking Davey dry, "And you're from Finland?"

"Yes sir." Ville fidgeted with the napkin in his lap.

"Paul, let the boys eat. You can grill Davey's man when we're not having dinner." Mrs. Merchand chided him softly.

"Sorry Penny." he grinned, "So Dave, how is Jade?"

Davey snorted, "Gross. You would be thrilled to see how happy he is."

"And he's with your 'friend?' What a coincidence." he turned back to Ville

"Yeah. Funny how life works." Ville said nervously.

"Well you know this is all your fault. If you hadn't sent me down there to find that vampire, I would have talked Jade out of meeting Roxy and we would have just come home." Davey stuck his tongue out at his father as he choked on his pasta.

"David!" his look of horror almost made Ville laugh.

'If he only knew.' Ville thought, covering his mouth with his hand.

"Dad, he knows. It's ok." Davey smiled and grabbed Ville's hand under the table.

Mr. Merchand raised an eyebrow, "You know about Davey's past?"

Ville nodded, "He told me."

"And you're ok with it? You don't think we're a bunch of lunatics?"

"No sir. I think that this world is full of so many strange things that you can't reject the possibility of anything." Ville gripped Davey's hand, palm sweating lightly.

"Alright." Mr. Merchand nodded and seemed to relax a little, "So Dave, this the reason you retired?"

Davey nodded, "Yep." he grinned, "We're going to settle down and relax."

"What about the band?"

"We're writing new stuff. Touring is going to be a whole lot less stressful when I'm not also hunting vampires." He gave Ville's hand a squeeze and let it go so he could resume eating.

"How do you feel about that?" Mr. Merchand asked Ville.

Ville shrugged, "It's probably true. I've never toured and hunted vampires at the same time."

"Hmm." Mr. Merchand said again.

"He hates me." Ville said, resting his head in his hands.

They had gone back to Davey's old room after dinner and Ville was sitting on the bed, ready to flee.

Davey crouched in front of Ville and pulled his hands away from his face, "He does not hate you."

"Oh no? Did you see the way he looked at me when I told him I don't do anything?" He sighed, "And it's not like I can tell him I made all my own money a lifetime ago. He'd cut my fucking head off."

"He would not." Davey kissed him.

Ville raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure about that?"

Davey thought about it for a second, "I'm fairly certain."

Ville snorted and ran a hand through his hair, making his dark curls stick up at odd angles, "I feel much better."

"Baby, you just need to relax." he kissed him, "And I know just how to help you do it."

Ville's eyes turned a mossy green as they darkened with desire, "Oh really?"

"Yeah." Davey jumped up and grabbed a skateboard from behind the dresser, "Let's go to the skate park!"

Ville's jaw dropped, "You skate?" His throat tightened when he saw the deck in Davey's hand, "How old is that board?"

"Of course I skate. I'm from the East Bay. How else do you think I got anywhere in high school?" Davey looked down at his old battered skateboard. It was an Element deck with a big pink heartagram in the center and the letters B-A-M printed boldly below it, "I don't know. Years and years. Element decided to put out a bunch of their really old decks for a little bit. It's a classic Bam board." he looked over at Ville, "Why? What's wrong?"

He shook his head, "Nothing. I just haven't seen that kind of board since I was like twenty."

Davey set the board down and walked back to Ville, tilting his chin so he was looking up into his warm brown eyes, "Baby, that's not nothing. What's the matter?"

"Bam," Ville sniffed, "he was my," a tear slid down his cheek, "my love. For a long time."

"You were with Bam Margera?" Davey asked in an awed voice before he caught himself, "What happened?"

"It was when I was still human. We had been friends for a long while, but after Roxy's master kidnapped me and the guys I realized life could be ended too fast to not be with the man I loved. We were together for three years after that, then Roxy's master kidnapped him and me and killed Bam, horribly. Ripped him into tiny pieces right in front of me." he said quietly, "And that's why Roxy turned me. So I could have the strength to kill him."

"I'm sorry Baby." Davey put his arms around Ville and held him.

"It's okay." Ville kissed Davey's cheek, "It was a long time ago."

"I always heard he was killed by wild animals or something." Davey said, "And I never heard that you dated him."

"We told everyone it was a boar while he was doing some stupid stunt or other. He didn't want the public to know about us, so we kept our relationship quiet. Everyone thought I was dating Roxy." he smiled, "It was really kind of funny because they were so focused on her they had no idea about me and Bam."

Davey didn't know what to say. He just pet Ville's back and held on to him.

"Like I said baby, it was a long time ago. I have you now, so everything is fine." Ville kissed Davey lightly, then grinned, "Now what were you saying about me needing to relax?"

"Well," Davey slid a hand inside Ville's pants.

"Dave!"

Davey and Ville sprang apart and looked over at the door guiltily.

"Coming!" Davey called and stood, "Sorry."

"It's okay." Ville lay back on the bed, "We'll pick this up later."

Davey shivered and wished his dad to hell for fifteen minutes. Just fifteen. He'd always had such awful timing.

Ville watched Davey walk out of the room and sighed. Maybe he'd take a nap instead.

"Ville! Wake up!"

"What's the matter?" Ville sat up abruptly, cracking Davey in the nose with his forehead and breaking it.

"Well," Davey said holding his nose to stop the blood while it knitted back together, "you broke my nose."

"Oh I'm sorry love!" Ville grabbed Davey's face and started kissing all over it, "I'm sorry! You scared me."

"I know. It's no big deal." Davey pulled his hands away to reveal nothing more than a faded bruise, "Baby!" he laughed, pulling Ville away from him, "Stop."

"Well what are you so excited about?" Ville asked, sitting back.

"I was talking to my dad and he was saying that the latest rumors in the organization are that there's someone out there that is turning vampires back into humans! She's like a witch or something and she can make us all human again!"

Ville's jaw dropped, "Are you kidding? Where? Who is it? Are you kidding?"

"No." Davey shook his head, "I'm not. He doesn't know who it is, but he said there's some guy that's being investigated down in Venice who has been leading people to her." he paused, "Are we going to check it out?"

"Of course!" Ville jumped up and started to pace, "As soon as we get back we can take the others and go find this guy." he stopped pacing, "Why did your dad just tell you that?"

Davey shrugged, "I think he's trying to get me to come back."

Paul Merchand sat in the living room with his wife, reading over the latest reports from some of the agents in Europe.

"So do you think they're going to go?" Mrs. Merchand asked without looking up from her book.

"I don't know Penny. I hope so. We can only keep them off the radar for so long." he sighed, "The kid who took over the I.E. has noticed that there's a lot of college kids with strange hickeys. I can't keep reassigning that area."
