Part 2
Danny: James put his phone in his back pocket and smiled at me. “They’re all on their way.” “Great!” I said, rubbing the back of my neck – a habit that I do whenever I’m feeling nervous. It must’ve been this and maybe the sound of my voice that caused James to realise that I was nervous about this. “Hey, don’t worry, Danny. Just show them what you’ve shown me and you’ll be fine!” he said, trying to ease my nervousness. I smiled at him to make it seem as though I was relaxing a bit. I wasn’t. I don’t know what I’d done. We were just hanging out, listening to a bit of Bring Me The Horizon and I was singing along -well, more like screaming along. James was singing along too but suddenly stopped and listened to me. As soon as I realised that he wasn’t singing with me, I stopped too and asked him what was wrong. That’s when he asked me if I wanted to join his band, Asking Alexandria. Well, I wasn’t going to turn him down now was I? It’d always been my dream to do this, so why was I so fucking nervous? Was it the thought of it actually happening? Or was it the thought of meeting James’ “notoriously rebellious” friends? I’d already met Sam at James’ 20th birthday party. I can’t really remember what he was like – simply because I was so fucking wasted – but, even if I could, I’d be remembering the intoxicated side of him, not the real Sam. I’d heard James talking about the other two: Cam and Ben. They both sounded nice enough, but Ben sounded as though he was really wild when he wanted to be, which could either be a good sign or a bad sign. Hopefully a good one since we were soon going to be band mates. For the next half hour, James told me all about the band’s goals and asked me if I’d be willing to go to America with them to try and make it there. Hell, my mum and dad wouldn’t be too happy about it but I said yes anyway! I’d never been to America but I’ve always wanted to. And now I’d finally get my chance! I wasn’t going to turn it down for anything. God, I can’t believe that this is happening so soon! Fuck, I was excited! That didn’t last long, though, because the excitement was suddenly drowned by the nervousness that washed over me when I heard the doorbell ring. Shit.
