Love in all its splendor
A/N: As I said, there is plenty more to come...Thank you Row...I am still laughing about that 3 hr plot bunny orgy :)
----------------------------
...The day of the rehersal dinner also marked the day before the wedding. It was an odd twist, that the wedding day was also scheduled on the 22nd birthdays of both the bride and groom. Well, the two figured that it would make more sense to have the wedding and birthday celebration done in one shot, that way it could be memorable for all.
Gabe Sapporta woke up, as sun brightly shone through the blinds of the hotel room. He cringed, shielding his eyes. "Damnit April! Why did you have to open the shades on me?" April, who had been just stepping out of the shower, emerged, drying her hair with a towel. "Why did you have to get drunk off your ass?" Gabe responded by putting a pillow over his head. "It was a bachelor party, April...People drink before a wedding, it's tradition." April raised an eyebrow, one hand on her hip. "I didn't drink." Gabe was quick to respond. "You have an excuse..." April shook her head. "None of the girls drank, they were actually quite considerate on the factor that not everyone could drink. I'd think you'd be considerate enough too."
Gabe sighed, clambering up out of bed, just long enough to close the shades and to crawl back into bed. Sure, she was pregnant. Supposedly, she was expected to have mood swings from time to time. But with April, she could go 24 hours straight through, just bitching. "April, think you can give it a rest? I don't need to hear another full day of bitching today." April raised an eyebrow, as payback was a bitch. Just as he flopped over, it was just too perfect to resist. Calmly, she walked over, towel in hand, as she succeeded in the action of towel-snapping, right on the ass. "Wake up, take a cold shower. We can't be late to the rehersal. I'm in the wedding genius!" Gabe jumped just as his wife had snapped him with a towel. "WHAT THE HELL!?" April laughed, arms crossed in triumph, as she leaned in to kiss him on the lips. "Got you up, now didn't it? Go in there and take a cold shower." Muttering under his breath, Gabe got up, walking to the bathroom. Maybe a cold shower might have helped, well somewhat...
Meanwhile...
Things had come off to quite the interesting start. Cat, Becca, and Ivy had woken up to find the guys sleeping on the floor of the living room. Becca had taken it upon herself to get the guys back for making their bachelor party a night of nonstop drinking. She tiptoed to the garage, getting two metal garbage can lids, which she brought back with her. Banging them together, she made to wake them all up. "ALRIGHT BOYS!! TIME TO GET UP!!"
Pete groaned, rolling over to glare at his sister. "Beckanne, if you don't stop the noise..." he started to say menacingly before he glanced back at Patrick, and quieted down. For his sake, he wasn't going to take on revenge on his sister. He looked at Ivy who seemed to be glaring at him, and shook his head. "Poison, don't give me that look. It was just a party-" Ivy raised an eyebrow incredulously and shook her head. Unbelievable! After some drunken orgy, he was playing it off as completely innocent! "Pete, save it... I really don't want to hear excuses..." She shook her head, walking to the kitchen, hoping that he wouldn't follow her. No, she needed some time for herself, just the briefest moment to think...
"Wow Pete, you're really in the doghouse now," Viv stated, having had risen early to attend to Angelique, whom she had been rocking to get her to sleep after her morning meal. Pete shook his head, muttering incoherently under his breath. He then looked at Spencer and Brendon, who had just been stirring from their sleep, Brendon and Spencer looked suprisingly more sober than the rest. "Bren, I really got fucked up last night. I could have sworn I saw you guys making out," he commented before heading to the bathroom to get ready. Brendon's eyes widened and Spencer nudged him. "I told you that the hotel room bathroom was a bad place," he hissed before looking up innocently. "Morning Ryan, you look like a million bucks on your last day of freedom..." Ryan might have retorted, if he hadn't felt like puking right now. "Wow Ry- you look like you're about to-" Jon's comment did the trick, as Ryan bolted out of the room, fortunately dodging Pete who had been just coming back out of the bathroom.
Pete knew to jump out of the way, watching as the groom reacted to last night's drinking, barely making it to the toilet on time. "God Pete, what the hell did you give me in that 'bachelor cocktail' of yours?" he gasped, resting his head against the porcelain. Pete shrugged, leaning towards the mirror as he shaved. "Just a mix... Bacardi 151, Tequilla, Vodka, Everclear...All mixed with Hawaiian Punch." Ryan gave him an incredulous look. "Pete, trying to kill me or something." Pete laughed, finishing off the shaving job. "Nah, not at all. Just figured that I'd give you a night to remember. Hurry up, you can't be late to your own wedding rehersal. I've got to catch up to Ivy, see what the hell is up..." He disappeared, letting Ryan finish expelling the contents of his stomach until his stomach was completely empty. Ryan groaned as he got up, cleaning the mess up, before brushing his teeth. Did everything have to still spin?
There were such activities as this on the morning of rehersal dinner, and more. Needless to say, the guys were hungover, while the girls were perfectly sober. The day was mostly spent setting up for the big day tomorrow. Just after getting ready, the guys went their own way for a bit, and the girls hit up the nail salon to get their nails done for the next day. It was almost surreal. This was Cat's last day as a bachelorette. Tomorrow, she'd be Mrs. George Ryan Ross III. Ryan had thought of similar things throughout the day, thinking about how after tomorrow, he'd be a married man.
The rehersal had come and gone, and soon, the wedding party and guests had been mingling at the dinner. Cat had been unnaturally silent during the dinner, given that she had a bit of a meltdown from anxiety over the next day, along with dealing with her mother to the point where she had bolted out of the church. Ryan had to coax her to going back in, and as she had, all eyes had been set on her. It was definitely a humiliating moment.
Ryan sighed, watching Catrianna poke her food with her fork listlessly. "Cat, it's alright, no one blames you, cheer up." Cat looked up, biting her lip as she leaned her head on Ryan's shoulder. "How are you staying so strong today Ryan? I feel like I'm about to explode into pieces." Ryan shrugged, cracking a weak grin. "Maybe that cocktail that Pete gave me destroyed my ability to become anxious or something...I really don't know. I'm betting that tomorrow I'll be feeling it." His smile widened some as he reached for Cat's hand. She returned the smile, and nodded. "I suppose all is well in the end, right?" It was just like Ryan, to always be able to put herself out of a rut.
Her thoughts paused, as she heard the sound of a spoon tapping against a glass. Looking towards the sound, she saw that Becca had been standing up, ready to make a toast. "Attention, Maid of Honor wants to make her speech." Soon, all chatter stopped, and just before Becca started speaking, Cat caught sight of Viviana working up a conversation with none other than William Beckett, who had been making silly faces at Angelique, who seemed to be giggling. There were smiles on both of their faces. She made a mental note to ask Becca when in the Hell had those two started to talk. Speaking of Becca...
Rebecca Wentz smiled as all attention was on her. Good, now she could begin her speech. "As Maid of Honor, I think it's only fitting that I make a speech, so here we go. Well, I remember as if it were only yesterday, when one of our esteemed groomsmen was hit by a bottle on stage, preforming in England..."
"Hey! What's me getting hit by a bottle have to do with anythin- Oh... keep talking, sorry." Brendon cracked a grin, shaking his head. God, this had been one hellova crazy time. Tomorrow Ryan was going to be married. It was crazy that so much of his friends had started to settle down already. Oh well, perhaps in good time.
"Thank you Brendon, for the kind words. Now, as I was saying, that on that day, who was to know that the guitarist would knock a staff member off a ladder, only to result in having to cart her off to the Emergency Room. For quite some time, the two of them corresponded, before they met again. Sure there were some roadblocks in the beginning..."
"More than some roadblock," Spencer had called out, in reference to Amber to which Becca had put her hand on her hips. "Okay, you wait your turn for your speech. This is my time now." She flashed an innocent smile, returning to her little speech.
"Yes, there were roadblocks, but by good graces, these roadblocks seemed no match for this dynamic duo. They took their first steps into a flourishing romantic relationship. Through thick and thin, they have overcome all obstacles along the way, to be sitting here tonight, on the eve of their wedding."
She smiled to the couple, laughing as she noticed Cat dabbing her eyes with her napkin, with Ryan shaking his head, unable to contain his laughter, only to have her elbow him in the ribs. "Well, anyways," she added, raising her glass towards the couple. "I make a toast to you, Ryan and Catrianna, hoping that your future together is a bright one. That day the two had met had been nothing but a twist of fate. I hope for only the best for your lives to come." She finished her speech, her voice cracking a little in the end, to which Patrick had reached over, patting her hand reassuringly. It was a sentimental moment, that was most certain.
Though, just as all were awed by her speech, Spencer had gotten up to make a speech of his own. "Alright, The Best Man can't have the Maid of Honor outdo him in a speech, now can he? Well, what is there to say? For starters, the start of Ryan's and my friendship is ancient history. We've been friends since early childhood, and have done a lot of things together along the way. If you want to see one of our achievements, look up our band on Wikipedia."
There was laughter there, but even more when Brendon spoke up. "Hey, don't hog the credit, don't forget about me being there on that great endeavor." He flashed a smile at Spencer, and made a hand motion for him to keep on going, laughing a bit. Spencer's gaze lingered on Brendon as he laughed, and smiled fondly. He then looked up. "Okay, I spent last night memorizing this speech that I had written up, but I think I'm going with a new route with the speech, bear with me, alright?"
He smiled at Brendon, winking, to which Brendon had choked on the food he had been eating at the given time. "So, as Rebecca stated, the two did meet with an odd twist of fate. Fate works in many ways, that's for sure. The staff member and the guitarist had a happy ending, as tonight is the eve of their wedding. Though, whatever did become of that poor vocalist who had been knocked out, only to regain consciousness, challenging the crowd with a line that can also be looked up, if you ever feel like it. He insisted that the concert kept going as it seemed like the thing to do. He's a good man, Brendon... Brendon? Care to stand up?"
Brendon's eyes widened as he stared back at Spencer. Sure, he had no qualms opening up about their relationship, as people were bound to find out. But was this the time. As all eyes were on him, he stood up, swallowing as he looked back at Spencer. "Yes?" he said softly, feeling his heart jumping to his throat. Spencer smiled, turning to the crowd. "I know he's looking at me like I'm some lunatic, but don't worry, I have a point. We are all gathered here to celebrate the union of Cat and Ryan, but also we ought to consider this a moment to recognize other distinguished couples who are either newly married, soon to be married, and ones that ought to be married already. "April and Gabe, I congratulate you on your marriage, and also the best of luck with the new baby. Beckanne and Patrick? I hope that your lives together have much fulfillment for time to come. Pete and Ivy? For the love of god get married sometime this century."
More laughter came from the audience, as Brendon raised a questioning eyebrow at Spencer, who then in turn took Brendon's hand. "Who would have thought, that the vocalist who made things happen between the future newlyweds would completely change the life of someone for the better? I'm thankful for those who kept silent about this, though, I think it's time that we come forward with a truth..." He trailed off as he reached for Brendon, pulling him in a kiss to which some members of Cat's family, including her mother, had fainted. "Um, is there a doctor in the house? I think we need some smelling salts over there," Brendon called out, motioning towards the fainted people, who eventually came around.
"Oh my fucking god, I really did see them making out!" Pete called, to which Brendon rose an eyebrow. "Yeah, next time we'll leave a do not disturb sign around the bathroom," he added nudging Spencer to keep talking, as he knew that there was no possible way that Spence had been done with his speech. A smile flickered as Spencer took Brendon's hand. "I can only hope that all in this room can find the pure and unconditional love that Ry and Cat share, because I have a distinct feeling that I have already reached that point." He raised his glass. "To Cat and Ryan, may they have much happiness in the distant future. Oh and by the way, tomorrow...If the car's a rockin' don't come a knockin' else you might catch a glimpse of something you might not want to see." Pete let an involuntary shudder, only to have Ivy put an arm around him, laughter escaping.
"Hear Hear!" Brendon called out, raising his glass to join the toast, before he gave an encore preformance of that kiss. Smiling, he winked at the crowd, as both he and Spence had taken their seats. Ryan had gotten up, still trying to recover from the shock of seeing vocalist and drummer kiss not once, but twice. "Okay Spence, only you would wait until my wedding rehersal dinner to come out of the closet. Though, I speak for every person in the room, when I say...It's about damn time!" Spence and Bren gave wide-eyed innocent stares to which Jon called out. "Hey! So, Brendon's the girl in this relationship, right?"
"Hey! I resent that...." Spencer laughed, winking. "Oh no Jon, you'll find that we change roles for time to time, like that one time in the recording stu-"
"Okaaaay Spence, I don't think they want to hear that one," Brendon cut in, blushing furiously to which the rest of the crowd either looked horrified, or burst into laughter. Ryan rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "Okay, I don't think that much people will stand for more speeches, I'm done." Cat then chimed in. "Oh and Becca, that speech was beautiful. Though, if you saw me dabbing my eyes, bloody allergies..." She stuck her tongue out childishly as her mother gasped. "Catrianna! For the love of God! You'll be married tomorrow, need you act so childish?" Cat's mother had clearly recovered from fainting from the shock of Brendon and Spencer's 'coming out.'
Cat rolled her eyes, shaking her head at her mother. "Mum, they say that you've found the perfect one when they take you for who you are as a person. If you think that I act childish, you ought to see Ryan from time to time. What I'm trying to say, is that we both have long accepted our personalities. As long as I have Ryan by my side, I'm not afraid to let the kid in me out every so often." Ryan laughed, holding up a hand. "Trust me, that kid is crazy, but you got to love her. But yeah, I think we ought to wrap this up, as tomorrow is a big day for us all. Thank you for comming and good night!" With this, people got up, trickling out of the room. Pretty soon, it had been a select few of them left in the room.
Cat squealed, running up to Becca, hugging her tightly. "Thank you for those words Becca, you are truely the best friend a girl could have." Becca laughed, making a mock bow. "I know, I'm the best, right?" She smiled, though, something caught the corner of her eye. It seemed as if Will had been leaving, and he and Viv had been saying their goodbyes. He had kissed her on the cheek. It wasn't like Will to really kiss girls like that unless..."Beckanne, is there something we ought to know about those two?" Cat cut in, clearly seeing the same thing...Wow, life was really full of tiny surprises, was it not?
A/N: And next....THE WEDDING OF COURSE!!! :) *happy dance*
