Epilogue

2 weeks had gone by since Clay's funeral.

Amber had gone and come back from a weekend getaway, ready to start a new beginning without Clay.

Kim and Ruben were now an official couple. They went out often, sometimes with Amber.

Kim and Amber had a long conversation about being survivors. Kim had agreed to not stress too much about being raped, and Amber had agreed to call Kim or Ruben whenever she got too lonely or scared.

Now Kim and Ruben were at her apartment, getting ready to watch a movie together.

"So what did you choose for us today?" Kim asked.

"Little Nicky with Adam Sandler."

"Really?"

"Yeah. It's pretty funny. I laughed so hard the first time I saw it."

"Well, if the American Idol likes it..."

The credits hadn't even began when Ruben asked, "Want to make out?"

"Boy, I thought you'd never ask."

They began kissing, happy that their relationship has survived everything so far, and sure that would continue to survive...just like Kim.

Suddenly, they heard a knock on her door.

"Kim?" Amber's voice called, sounding frantic.

They pulled apart.

"Sounds like she's in trouble." Ruben said.

Kim got up and opened the door. "Amber, what's wrong?"

Amber walked in. "I'm sorry to interrupt you two, but I felt you should know this as soon as possible."

"What?"

"See, I got bored and decided to check my voicemail, and for some reason...I found a message for Kim on there."

"Who was it from?" Ruben asked.

"It was from Kim's doctor. He said he took some blood recently and he mentioned the results on the message."

"Well, what did he say?"

Amber turned to Kim.

"Kim..."

She then proceeded to say the two words that would shatter Kimberley Locke's world forever.

"You're pregnant."
