Chapter 21
++++++++
Kelly gladly obliged, moaning against Carrie's mouth as their tongues crashed together. Carrie was still trying to find a way to get them closer as she pressed herself against the shorter girl, forcing her to take another step back. The back of her knees hit the bed, making her fall back.
Kelly sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes clouded over with lust as she looked up at Carrie's swollen lips, subconsciously licking her own. It was her turn to reach out for the other girl's hips, pulling her forward onto her lap as Carrie knelt on the bed, straddling Kelly's legs. Their lips found each other once more, in a series of fervent kisses.
Carrie's hand found Kelly's hair once again loving the feeling of it between her fingers as she titled Kelly's head back, leaving a whole new territory open for Carrie's exploration. She languidly began to kiss her way down Kelly's jaw line, loving the soft guttural sound escaping Kelly's lips as she sucked gently on her neck, nipping at her collarbone before soothing it with her tongue. She worked her way back up, growing dizzy as she felt Kelly's hands playing at the hem of her shirt. Their lips crashed together, their tongues colliding.
"What the fcuk?" a shaky voice announced it's presence, making the two girls jump apart. Kelly looked up to find her brother standing in the doorway, confusedly. She struggled to control her breathing as she shook the fuzziness from her head.
"Jason," she breathed.
"What is this?" he asked, turning to Carrie. "And why was your tongue down my sister's throat?"
"I-I" Carrie stuttered.
"I'm going get mom," he replied, turning. Kelly jumped up from the bed and rushed to stop him, grabbing his arm.
"Jason, no," she begged.
"Kelly, do you know what you're doing?" he asked in a hush tone, eyeing Carrie. "This is not right."
"Please," she pleaded. "At least let me explain."
"Explain what? Cause I'm pretty sure I can figure it out from what I just saw."
"Carrie's my-my-"
"Your what Kel? Your little experiment? Your curosity?"
"My girlfriend," she replied. Carrie couldn't help but smile as she took a step forward to take Kelly's hand in her own.
"You stay away from my sister," Jason warned her. He raised a shaky hand through his hair, "Man..."
"Jason--"
"No," he replied, backing out of her reach. "I-I gotta think about this."
"Please," she pleaded again, tears coming to her eyes.
Jason frowned, now matter how pissed off at her he was, he never could stand to see her cry.
"I won't tell mom, ok? Not now anyway. I just-I can't," he said, putting his hands up in surrender, backing out of the room.
"Kel-" Carrie said gently, rushing to her side, putting her arms around her as the tears fell.
"No," Kelly pushed away. "Not now. I can't--I need--you need to go."
"Go?" Carrie asked, the hurt evident in her voice.
"Not go," Kelly sighed, bringing a shaky hand to her forehead. "Just, I need to be alone right now."
"Don't start this again. I thought we were passed this."
"Please go," Kelly said, tears falling, but her jaw set.
"Fine," Carrie replied, reaching forward to kiss her forehead, but stopped when she felt Kelly tense in her arms. Carrie nodded, "I'll be here when you need."
Kelly closed the door after she had walked out. She slid to the floor, her whole body shaking with fear.
+++++++
Carrie walked out into the hall, headed towards her room. She felt a hand grab her arm roughly as she was pushed against the wall.
"What did you do to her?" Jason asked.
"Me?" Carrie replied. "She's in there crying her eyes out because of you."
"She wasn't like this before you came along," Jason frowned, his eyes glaring.
"Like what? Happy. Because you're right, she wasn't happy. She was completely broken. And until now, I thought we were passed that, but then you came along."
"She's not happy. She's just lost."
"Lost?" Carrie asked incredulously. "Do you even hear yourself?"
"Look," his grip tightened, causing Carrie to wince. "Stay away from my sister. She doesn't need you ruining her life. Do you have any idea how much pressure she's under already because of her album? What do you think would happen if word got out about you two?"
"What's going on?" Ashley asked, looking at the two of them confusedly. Jason's hand fell.
"Nothing," he replied. "We were just having a talk. We're done, anyway."
He gave Carrie one last glare before walking away. Carrie felt her knees buckle as the truth of Jason's statement played in her mind. If it got out about the two of them, Kelly's career which was already at a fragile place could be ruined forever.
Ashley placed an arm around Carrie, steadying her, "You ok?"
"He knows," Carrie replied shakily.
"Oh," Ashley frowned. "How?"
"Me on Kelly's lap, my tongue down her throat."
Ashley nodded, "So, he didn't take it so well?"
Carrie shook her head.
"And Kelly?"
"Do you hear any music?"
Ashley frowned, not knowing who she should attend to first: her broken best friend, her best friend's jackass of a brother, or the hurting girl in her arms.
"Look," Ashley sighed, as she led Carrie into the guest room where she was staying. "How about you just chill here for a while, maybe take a nap?"
"It's 10 in the morning," Carrie pointed out, sitting on her bed.
"I know, but I'm gonna go see if I can at least get Kelly to unlock her door, ok?"
Carrie nodded, unsure of when the tear that was rolling down her cheek had formed.

Everyone was seated around the table for supper, yet no one was talking. Jeanne glanced over at Kelly who was pushing her food around her plate, not eating anything. Her forehead was resting in her hand as she stared a hole into her plate.
"Kelly? Is everything ok?" Jeanne asked gently.
"Yes," she replied, not looking up.
Jeanne nodded, looking around the table, trying to start a conversation.
"So, Carrie--"
The blonde looked up nervously.
"How's everything coming with your new record? I mean, you've been taking a pretty good break since you've been here."
"Yea," Carrie replied, her eyes empty. "Well, actually, I got a call this afternoon. I have to be heading back."
Jason and Ashley looked up suddenly, while Kelly's head hung lower.
"Really?" Jeanne asked. "When?"
"Um," Carrie looked over at Kelly who refused to even look at her. Seeing her like this was even more painful than not seeing her at all. "Tonight."
"Tonight?" Ashley asked worriedly.
"May I be excused?" Kelly asked, standing up, her voice an unnatural calm considering the tears that were threatening to fall.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Jeanne asked worriedly.
"Yea, I think I just may be coming down with something," she replied, before hurrying out.
"Go after her," Ashley whispered to Carrie who looked up to find Jason glaring as if daring her to move. His eyes drifted to his mom then back to the blonde warning her.
"I think I'm going to go pack," Carrie said, excusing herself. She made her way up the stairs, pausing at Kelly's door for a second, then continued to the guest room.

"You do realize how much of a mistake you're making, right?" Ashley asked, walking into Carrie's room as she packed up the last of her belongings.
"No, a mistake would be staying here when she clearly doesn't want me to."
"Who says she doesn't want you to stay?"
"She can't even look at me," Carrie's voice cracked as she looked up from her bags. She took a deep breath, steadying herself. "Besides, I can't do this anymore. I can't just keep putting myself out there and keep getting rejected time after time."
Ashley looked at her disappointedly, "I thought you were different."
"Different?" she questioned, growing defensive. "From what? You've only known me a few days."
"I meant different from the others. You seemed to genuinely care about her for her. I guess I was wrong," she sighed, walking away. Carrie closed her eyes, sitting on the bed. She ran a shaky hand through her hair and frowned.
Why should she be different? Why did she have to be the one to get through to the girl? Clearly that would never happen, so why should she bother?
+++++++
There was a knock on the door, causing Kelly to look up from her computer.
"I'm going," Carrie said, as she entered the room. She had already packed all her stuff in her car.
Kelly could only nod.
"Is that all you can do?"
"Well what do you want me to say?" Kelly asked, her voice strained. The tear stains evident on her cheeks. "Because I'll say it."
Carrie closed her eyes, as the tears started to burn them, "I have to go."
"Of course you do," Kelly nodded, a fake smile on her face.
"Kel-"
"Good luck with your CD," Kelly said, her voice completely void of any emotion as she looked back down at her computer.
Carrie sighed, wanting to say something, anything, that would get that girl in her arms again, but she knew there was nothing she could say. She walked out of Kelly's room.
Kelly closed her eyes at the sound of the door closing, allowing the tears she had been holding back to fall freely. She wasn't about to cry in front of Carrie. She wouldn't give her that satisfaction.
Kelly gladly obliged, moaning against Carrie's mouth as their tongues crashed together. Carrie was still trying to find a way to get them closer as she pressed herself against the shorter girl, forcing her to take another step back. The back of her knees hit the bed, making her fall back.
