Chapter Twenty Six
I awoke slowly, a soft smile on my lips.
Still half in a dream state, I reached out blindly for Simon, ready to love him again.
However, instead of touching Simon, my hand splashed into warm water.
My eyes fluttered open and I blinked several times, trying to make out the dark objects around me.
My head swam, partly from the alcohol still in my system, partly from still being half asleep.
Yawning, I glanced down, observing my bathing suit and the mass of warm water I was sitting in.
I was still in Ryan's hot tub.
Why was I still in Ryan's hot tub?
And then the realization hit me.
It was just a dream.
I covered my face with my hands, silently cursing my subconscious for having these thoughts.
And not only for having them, but for making them seem so damn real.
I got up hastily, hoping to make a quick exit before anyone returned.
I looked through the glass pane window as I dried off and slipped my clothes back on, wondering where everyone went.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, softly kneading the tense muscles of my back and arms.
"Hullo sleepy head."
Simon.
Saying a silent prayer I hadnt talked in my sleep, I turned around slowly, mortified to even be around him.
"Hey," I responded, forcing myself to make eye contact. "Sorry about falling asleep on you guys."
"You were sleeping pretty hard there," he smiled.
"It was the alcohol," I said, forcing a laugh. "Always makes me really giddy then just knocks me out."
"I didn't want to interrupt you...apparently you were having a really good dream," he smirked knowingly.
I just smiled in response, not sure exactly what he was implying and not wanting to give anything away.
Did he know?
His voice dropped an octave lower.
"A really good dream," he said slowly, his face inches from mine.
Oh yeah.
He knew.
