"So shut your mouth,
And hold me close.
We both know it's better
Than being alone."

Carrie pulled up to Kelly's Nashville home, after having spent the rest of the afternoon and the ride home in a comfortable silence.
"Jason and Ashley are back," Kelly commented, noticing the added cars in the garage.
"I'm glad they made it back safe," Carrie replied, politely.
"Do you want to come in?" Kelly asked, turning in her seat to face her. "I'm sure Jason's gonna want to thank you for making sure I got some rest."
"I can't," she frowned. "I really should get back. Ace has been by himself all day, and I've got a lot of work to catch up on tomorrow."
"Ok," Kelly nodded. "Maybe some other time?"
"Definitely," she smiled as Kelly reached across to hug her, leaving a friendly kiss on her cheek.
"Drive safe."
"Sleep well."
Kelly smiled as she got out of the car, waving as she opened her front door, signaling that it was ok for Carrie to leave. She loved the fact that Carrie always waited to make sure.

"Well, you're looking refreshed," Jason smiled as Kelly walked into the living room the next morning, making him push over on the sofa as he watched television. "Remind me to thank Carrie...if I ever meet her."
"Keep your pants on, I'm sure you'll meet her," Kelly rolled her eyes.
"Shouldn't you tell me to keep my pants on when I meet her?"
"Aw, come on," she grumbled, pushing him away. "Way too early in the morning for that. Besides, you know the rules."
"You asked about her sisters?"
"Married, sorry," Kelly replied, patting his knee as she stood. "Schedule?"
"Studio. Interview. Studio. Meeting. Interveiw. Studio--"
"Whoa," Kelly put a hand up. "You know I can only do one day at a time. I won't remember anything after that."
"That is all today," Jason replied with an apologetic look. "That's why we wanted to make sure you caught up on your sleep."
Kelly pulled out her phone as it started to vibrate. She read his name that was flashing across the screen and felt her stomach churn. She sunk back down onto the sofa, resting her head on Jason's shoulder. He put his arm around her comfortingly, "If it gets to be too much, just say the word."
"No, it's fine. I just got spoiled being at home, then not really doing anything yesterday. That's why I don't like vacations--they just make it that much harder to start up again."
"Ain't it the truth," he agreed.
"Were you able to finish that list I left back at home?"
"Yea, it's all done."
"Even the south bord--"
"Borderline fence, yea, it's up."
"Good," she nodded, allowing herself a moment to relax before the craziness that was her life started up again. "I was always afraid that the dogs might wander over there, and that little river that runs through there looks small, but it's strong."
"I know," Jason replied. "But don't worry about it anymore. It's fixed; I promise."
"Thanks Jay," she smiled. "You know I'd be lost without you, right?"
"I know, but thanks for reminding me," he smiled back, giving her shoulders a squeeze.

"Had a good day off Miss Underwood?"
"Yea, it was great. You?" Carrie replied as her assistant met her outside of her house door as she made her way to meet her manager who was waiting in the car.
"It was rather pleasant. So, Miss Underwood, your schedule for today--"
"Ann, for the thousandth time," Carrie sighed. "It's Carrie. Please, call me Carrie. You're my assistant, not my employee."
Ann started to correct her, but Carrie shook it off
"You know what I meant," she frowned. "I consider you one of my only friends that I can trust out here, so please, no more of that Miss Underwood stuff, ok?"
"Yes ma'am," Ann nodded.
"Ann..." Carrie groaned.
"Sorry...Carrie."
"Thank you," she smiled. "Now, you were saying something about my schedule?"
"Yea, it's changed up a bit," Ann explained.
"A bit? How much is a bit?"
"All of it," she smiled sheepishly.
Carrie shook her head, laughing as Ann held open the car door for her, "Just point me in the right direction, and I'm there."
