Chapter Twenty- Seven

Lex went into the kitchen and poured herself a cup of coffee, Gary was already up and reading the morning paper at the table.

"Morning Luv, sleep well?" He asked her.

"Like a baby. I have decided you are never allowed to go away again." She teased, planting a kiss in his head as she passed by him.

"Well, I'll quit my job and live off of your money. How about that?" He asked.

"Sounds good to me." She said stealing a piece of bacon on his plate. She picked up the remote control for the portable stero in her kitchen and turned it on, hoping to hear the weather for the day. She bounced around to the latest Britney Spears, while she buttered her toast. The newsman was chattering away about the latest American battle on terrorism.

"Now in Entertainment News...It seems as if former Take That member Robbie Williams has finally found a woman who can pin him down. His publicist announced today that Rob and his girlfriend of 5 months, Cecile Fuller, are engaged. No date was announced for the wedding but rumours are that it will be a short engagement and probably take place in Las Vegas. Congratulations Robbie and Cecile. And speaking of weddings, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul's 3 month wedding is over....."

Lex dropped her toast and stared opened mouth at the radio. It had been 9 months since she had left L.A. and returned to London. She had been clean the entire time, got a job as a writer on a comedy show and was slowly working her way back to normal when she had met Gary. He was a video game developer, creating popular video games and often travelled to Japan and the U.S. for meetings, he knew about her past and didn't judge her and always made sure she went to N.A. meetings every Thursday night. Gary dropped his paper and looked at Lex, she had tears forming in her eyes. Something he was used to seeing everytime she heard the name Robbie Williams or one of his songs. She didn't say much about Robbie, but Gary knew they had dated and that he was her cousin's best friend.

"You okay?" He asked. She nodded her head and wiped her eyes.

"Yeah. It's just a bit of a shock. I hope they are happy." She said. She was lying though. Inside she felt like her heart, that had just about healed, had been ripped open.

"Yeah." Gary said, just staring at her.

"So...who won that match last night?" She said brightening her voice and looking at the paper. They finished up breakfast and he kissed her cheek and left for work. She went into the shower and cried under the hot water.

"Rob are you sure?" Jon asked over the phone.

"Yeah. I want to settle down and have kids and Cecile is great." Rob replied. Jon noticed that Rob didn't say he loved Cecile. What was there to love? Jon wondered. She was such a cold hearted person, Jon couldn't figure out how someone as warm and giving as Rob, had ended up with someone like Cecile.

"Well, if you are sure about it, I am behind you one hundred percent." Jon told him.

"Thanks Jonny. It means a lot. You have been there for me , through the whole Lex thing and I can't imagine me getting married without me best man." Rob said.

"Don't worry I'll be there. Are you sure you want to do this here? It's going to be a media frenzy."

"I have Josie working on it. Well have an "invitation made up and dated for the end of October, for here in L.A. and have it "leaked" to the press. Then when we fly to London people will just think we are there for a visit. And everything else is being reserved with different names. And if it gets leaked, it gets leaked, I don't really care. I'll have a huge security detail." Rob explained. It all seemed so unimportant to Rob, he just knew he had to get it over with. He said good bye to Jon without asking about Lexi, he wanted to but didn't. He never did. The only thing he knew was she was still straight and living in London. These he had learned from Jon through general conversations.

"So, what did Jon say?" Cecile asked coming into Rob's office.

"He said he's happy for us. What did you think he would say?" Rob asked, slightly annoyed with Cecile. Lately he couldn't help but find her more and more annoying. He knew he shouldn't marry her, he didn't love her but the sex was great and he figured after they had a couple of kids he could pay her a huge divorce settlement and be content to spend time with his children.

"Well, he doesn't like me so I expected him to tell you not to do it." She pouted sexily.

"He likes you." Lied Rob.

"Do you like me?" She asked moving towards him.

'Not really.' He thought but answered.

"You know I do." She smiled and kneeled down between his legs.

"Let me remind you why you are marrying me." She said pulling his dick out and taking it into her mouth. Rob leaned back against his chair and recalled a moment with Lex, it was the only way he could get hard anymore.
