Pick of the litter

Gackt cocks his head to the side as recognition takes over. “Tetsu?”

Tetsu pushes open the door stepping inside, his eyes cut immediately to Masa and linger.

“I’m not go-” Masa began to protest but the normally cheerful bassist looked dead serious.

“I’ll see if I can find You and Toshi.” Masa murmurs before excusing himself from the room.

“Ah, Tetsu, what brings you to see me? Is Haido-”

“In a coma.”

“What?”

“He was in the car with you so I assumed that-”

“Haido wasn’t in the car with me.” Gackt whispers as the realization of what he must had done hit him. “He must have been…” His voice catches in his throat and for a moment he can’t breath.

“So you hit him.” Tetsu rasps stepping closer to Gackt‘s hospital bed. “You crashed into his car out of jealousy because he was leaving you, didn’t you?” Tetsu accused, his tone cold, knife-like.

“No…I didn’t…he was leaving…I was going to find You-kun and-” Gackt stops speaking his eyes wide as he realizes what Tetsu intends to do. The bassist has produced a needle and it’s hollow tip is aimed at Gackt’s I.V tube. “Don’t. Masa knows you’re here.”

“And that means what to me? Hideto might never came out of it. And even if he does he might not be the same.” Tetsu’s voice is shaking, emotion was radiating from his body like heat from radiator.

“I didn’t know. I swear to Kami that I didn’t know I hit him. The tears they-” Gackt stops himself. The last thing he wanted to admit was that he had been crying over Hyde when he stuck his car. “I’ll call the nurse.” Gackt says finally.

Tetsu slips the needle back into his jacket saying simply, “If you wanted to call the nurse to save you, you would have done it without telling me so what’s up?” He asks before taking Masa’s empty seat. He folded his hands neatly in his lap and waited.

“He was leaving me.” Gackt began. “But I didn’t chase after him and purposely crash into his car. I’m not crazy.” Tetsu shot him a look which Gackt ignored. “I was going to find my husband.”

“Your husband?” Tetsu repeats.

Gackt nods. “Yes, my husband. You see, I married You-kun in Hawaii after Masa had left me. I had discovered while Haido was there that You had packed his things and left me.”

“So you’re saying that your husband left you because of Haido.”

Another nod from Gackt.

“Me and Haido had come to an understanding about staying with our spouses and he was going to have dinner with Megumi that night.” Gackt pauses. “Is she here also?”

“Yes.”

“Does she know that-”

“No idea.”

Gackt continues from there telling Tetsu about the argument that occurred between the two before Hyde drove off excluding the part about crying.

“So the accident could be the result of either one of us not paying attention to where we were going.” Gackt concluded. "Hyde was pretty damn upset with me when we departed from each other's company."

Tetsu allowed Gackt’s words to sink in. He could be lying. Tetsu told himself.

A knock on the door broke the silence between them.

“Gakuto?” It was You.

“Your husband.” Tetsu smirks as he gets to his feet to leave and allow Gcakt some time with his 'spouse.'

You moves aside to let Tetsu pass, curiosity on his fair face.

“Is Haido-”

“Sit down, You-kun, there is something I need to tell you.”
