Pixie Dust and Dark Voids

Gerard and Jade had hung around Scotland for long enough. A huge party was thrown again in the pub for New Year, and Gerard and Jade had clung to each other at midnight. Gerard’s arms held her close, as he whispered sweet nothing in her ear. Jade felt the room was spinning she was so happy. They both made their resolutions for each other. Jade laughed to Gerard and said he had to try and quit smoking one more time, he had to let her shop more, and he had to pleasure he whenever she desired until the day she died. Gerard claimed Jade had to stop marrying other men, cook for him more often and stop loving teddy bears more then him. They were both shaking with laughter waiting for midnight.
”Jade my only resolution this year is to stay by your side”
”Ditto” smirked Jade. Everyone screamed as the clock struck midnight, Jade and Gerry’s mouths hit each other and in the end Matthew and Margaret had to pull them apart so they could get kisses and hugs.
”No one more minute wait” Gerry tried pulling away from his mother to reach Jade who was being whisked off by Matthew and kissed.
”Oh so you don’t want to kiss your mother then?”
Gerard looked down at his mother with a serious face, Mags saw the glint in his eye and turned to run.
”No Gerard don’t you dare Gerard behave”
A scream caught everyone attention, Gerard had chased his mother and lifted her in the air, hugging her tightly. Puckering up his lips he kissed her all over her delighted face and then lowered her to the floor.
”Whose next?” he shouted, and laughed as half the woman of the pub dropped their husbands and ran over to him. Gerard kissed and hugged his way around all his own friends when his eyes fell of Jade, Matthew and Linda. Striding over he grabbed jade from behind and lifted her in his arms.
”There you are” he smiled, nuzzling into her neck.
”See Matthew you used to be that loving” Linda joked. Matthew squared up to Gerard and turned to lift his wife in the air. “I’ll not be out done by him, I’ll carry you to the bar I love you that much. Now get your purse out because I’m not paying. Same again guys” Lifting the laughing Linda he walked away from them, kissing her.

The next day, tears filled Jade’s eyes as they packed all their belongings back into the car. Hugging Margaret tightly she wished she could stay here forever. Scotland was a slice of heaven. Gerard said his goodbyes and sat for a few minutes in the car. When Jade joined him, he flicked the radio on to drown out the silence between them. A few miles out he looked over at Jade and saw how sad she looked.
”I’m homesick already” he whined “And we aren’t even out of the UK Its ok Jadey, we will come back”
Jade smiled, “Good”

At the airport everything was dull and regulated. They sat around waiting for their flight and drank star bucks. Jade begged Gerard to walk around the shops with her and reminded him of his resolution. Inside a shop adoring women suddenly surrounded him. Jade walked off and mooched around, checking on him every so often. At first he looked overwhelmed as they ran at him, and he had gripped her hand tightly begging her to stay. But gradually he had turned on his charm and was now joking away, laughing and signing things for them. Jade picked out a top she couldn’t resist, paying for it the shop assistant smiled.
”I cant believe he is in my shop” she giggled, “Isn’t he gorgeous. Ohh he makes me feel funny”
”Yeah he’s ok” Jade smiled. Staring at Gerard she felt her knees go weak.
”Ok? God he’s heavenly. Is he gay? I think I heard he was gay.”
”I can assure you he is defiantly not gay” Jade smiled sweetly. Handing over her money.
”Oh and how do you know” the assistants voice changed tone. “He dresses far too well to be straight”
”Hey I picked that shirt out” Jade bit on her tongue quickly, and received a quizzical look from the woman. To make matters worse, Gerard threw off his harem and walked over to jade kissing her neck and hugging her from behind.
”What have you bought now?” he demanded, smiling at the shop assistant. “Remember your resolution. No shopping. I’ll wait outside anyway. I need a smoke. If you can break rules so can I”
Gerard walked out, and hung about by the door, leaving Jade to face an ashen faced woman.
”I’m so sorry” she uttered, “I didn’t know you and him were. Well. Bloody hell I want to be you” the tone was friendly again so Jade relaxed, taking her bag she just smiled. “Don’t worry about it”
Jade grabbed her bag and walked from the shop, taking hold of Gerard hand outside and walked toward a café.
