Breaking Through, part 14

*******************************

Thankfully one of the readers of this site had saved the story and kindly e-mailed me the chapters that were lost, so here they are! We got them back! :)))) Sorry the chapters are now in mixed order, I didn't find an option to squeeze them back in where they belong!

PREVIOUSLY LOST PART 14

********************************

They chose a small open air cafe for their late and lazy breakfast.

"Let it be my treat this morning," Darren declared.

Daniel raised his eyes from the menu and grinned at Darren, "Why, you already treated me today pretty well."

"Aww, don't mention it!" Darren winked.

The waitress took their orders, blushing visibly at every smile either of them made.

"Do you like being recognised?" Daniel asked when she walked away from their table.

"Pretty much so," Darren shrugged, "I guess I do... Maybe not some times..."

"...like now, when you could take my hand in yours?" Daniel scrutinized Darren with his sharp green gaze. The answer was important to him. So important. He couldn't hide it from Darren and pretend it was just a casual talk.

"Danny... Didn't we talk about this?" Darren was losing his funny mood.

"You talked about it," Daniel was trying to stay as calm.

"So what are you saying now?" Darren sat back in his chair, looking at the waitress serving them their coffee and croissants and toasts and water and beer.

They both followed every move she made around the table and poor girl was blushing even more realizing she has interrupted a conversation and is waited for to leave.

"Darren, I just want to know if it's important for you, okay?" Daniel sighed.

Darren took a large gulp of his water. Daniel reached for his beer.

"That's all I want to know," Daniel finished, waiting for Darren's answer.

"Danny... Isn't it enough for you that I tell you I love you every day?" Darren retorted, "do I have to prove anything to you? What are you afraid of?"

"Let's eat!" Daniel gestured his hand to the food on the table. He didn't want to answer Darren. Not now.

"Well?" Darren raised an eyebrow, "What?"

"Nothing, my love," Daniel smiled. "Absolutely nothing."

Daniel was annoyed, but he couldn't show it. Of course Darren loved him. That wasn't a concern there. But did Darren love himself? Did he love who he is? Did he even KNOW who he is?

"When you wanna go home?" Daniel finally asked, pushing his thoughts aside, afraid they might show on his face.

"Next week I suppose," Darren looked at Daniel over his buttered toast, "yes I know I shouldn't eat it, just leave it!"

Daniel grinned. Darren's obsession was some times over the limits.

"What? Can't eat a toast?" Daniel teased him.

"Butter, honey! My ass will be fat in no time if I eat it" Darren replied. He didn't think it was funny.

"Darren. You ARE perfect." Daniel reassured him with a long heavy look over his body, as far as he could see above the table. "You really are!"

Darren put the toast away, "then I guess I shall stay that way for you!"

Darren reached for a chocolate croissant.

"Darren!" Daniel laughed, "I can't believe you!"

"What, why cant I eat that?"

"Oh this is no better than butter, Darren! Human beings are so bloody selective... you put away a toast with butter cause butter is bad for you and then you eat something dripping with chocolate and you pretend this is not bad for you cause you just like chocolate better than butter," Daniel was laughing. He was sitting comfortably in his chair, his tights parted, drinking his beer and looking at Darren's dramatic face.

"Stop it!" Darren shrieked and moved his chair away from the table like he's about to leave.

He looked over at Daniel and gasped with exasperation at his lover's daring grin.

"Asshole!" Darren nearly yelled out and moved his chair back to the table, grabbing for his glass of water.

Jeeeeez... Daniel nearly whistled. Darren's pouting and his grizzles and his whining in a shrieking voice, the phrasing he used with Daniel, his tone with him... God, they could suck each other off in front of all these people and it would not give them away more than what Darren was doing now. Of course Darren wasn't much aware of that. Was he?

"What now?" Darren made a face at Daniel.

Daniel laughed again.

"I can't believe how well I can piss you off!" he bent over the table closer to Darren and lowered his voice, 'I think the waitress wants your autograph and is too shy to ask,.." Daniel motioned his head to the direction of their waitress who was standing at the bar counter, her jaw practically on the floor from what she just encountered.

"Well she will just have to ask for it," Darren smiled. The storm was over. Daniel sighed.

"What's the sighing all about?"

"Dunno," Daniel shrugged, "What you plan to do at your parents?"

"Well I have to tell them something..." Darren hesitated.

"Don't they know that already?" Daniel looked surprised.

"No, something else... Darren lowered his eyes to study the tablecloth. "I am filing a divorce, and I think mum should be the first now to find out... at least that..."

"Fair enough," Daniel smiled, "well now it makes ME the first to find out, not her"

"No, you're the second one. My wife was the first one," Darren chuckled.

Daniel waved at the waitress for a cheque.

"Well is this a mutual agreement then?" Daniel asked.

"It is, I suppose," Darren looked away, "she initiated it but I guess we both feel the same about it."

The waitress appeared with their bill and Darren gracefully snatched it from Daniel.

The waitress smiled an embarrassed smile.

"Can I ask you something?" she addressed Darren.

"Yes?" he smiled his best honey dripping smile at her.

"Your new song... I just heard it on the radio yesterday..."

Darren nodded. Daniel leaned back in his chair to watch the scene 'from outside'

"It's so beautiful... Is it about someone you know?" she blushed.

"They all are about someone I know," Darren kept smiling, "this one... yes I think it is someone I know, yes..."

"I hope she'll find her pilot..." she smiled back at him and waved at Daniel and left.

"That was sweet," Darren turned to Daniel.

"So who is SHE?" Daniel asked coldly.

"Are we going there again?" Darren was getting up, "come on, we won't wait for the change"
