Chapter 3

Disclaimers, etc. on the first chapter.

Steph had traveled all the way from the Denny's to that awful bar she had drowned her sorrows in, she checked the parking lot and found that her car was in the same place and nothing horrible had happened. At least, my car hasn't been damaged...

Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out her set of car keys. Thankfully, her keys hadn't fallen out of her pockets during their romp. She quickly hopped into her car and pulled out of the small parking lot.

As she drove down the quiet streets of the city she couldn't help but think about the other person swirling in her mind. Hunter. He had only been mad for what seemed like a week and out of nowhere, they were finished. Done. She thought she should feel happy but she couldn't. She had spent two years, day in, day outh hih him. And now she was going to have to be alone again.

She hated the way he treated her, the screaming fits, the dirty looks but he was hers and as stupid as that sounded, he was her everything.

As she pulled around to the back entrance of the arena, she wiped a few stray tears from her cheeks. She would be strong, she'd be okay.

+++++

The day flew past Stephanie, papers that needed to be signed were signed, matchhat hat needed tweaking were fixed and promos were shot. She had found some clothes in her trunk to wear after her shower in one of the locker rooms and had managed to send someone to pick up her bags from the hotel room, she hadn't run into Hunter backstage and she was glad, even though she was trying to be strong, it still hurt.

Her thoughts wandered from her ex to someone new. With the day winding down and business coming to an end, she silently thanked god that her mind had been busy enough to push the image of Eric out of her head so she could actually get through a work day but now he entered inside her deepest thoughts again.

As she sat in her makeshift office in the arena, she couldn't help but remember how he smelled of leather and a cologne she couldn't quite put her finger on. And how she had never been kissed like that before.

A slight blush crept onto her cheeks as she remembered the things that she did with him. She did enjoy it and even though part of her was ashamed to admit it, she wanted to do it again. And again and again and again... but no, he's an "enemy"

"Mrs. McMahon?"

Her train of thought came to a screeching halt as a young man called out to her. She looked up from a few papers she had been absently looking at.

"Oh, Henry, yes?" It was her new assistant, holding his jacket and some papers.

"I was wondering if I could get on ahead to the hotel, um, It's really late and I... would... like to-"

She smiled at his obvious nervousness.

"Yes, you can go ahead. The crew will collect all stray papers later tonight, I just need to fill out some more things."

He smiled at her before nodding his head and closing the door. The new ones always acted that way, too nervous for words, bumbling about. They would usually hear it from interns about how big of a bitch the boss' daughter was. It did feel just a bit good to be feared like that, to have people look the other way when she walked down the halls of every arena and yes, she donedone some things to make it seem like she held the title of 'bitch' well.

But it was wearing on her, she had little to no friends on the road and being on the road was lonely, working from one town to the next, living out of a duffle bag.

Stephanie slipped her paperwork into her purple messenger bag and slung it over her shoulder, she grabbed her duffle bag as she headed out the door. The sounds of her heels clacking against the concrete bounced off the walls and filled the various hallways she moved through.

The arena had cleared out hours before and there was virtually no one to be found, only a few security staff and janitors hung around fulfilling their duties in the night. Even though it seemed creepy, she loved it. To not deal with dirty looks and whispers was refreshing.

Pulling her car keys from her pocket, she moved to the back of her car. Opening the trunk, she set her baown own but stopped when she heard a close footstep.

Slowly letting go of her messenger bag and purse, she grabbed her heaviest bag and gripped the handles tightly, even if it was just some joe blow passing by doing his job, she wanted to be prepared. Stephanie listened to the quiet around her, closed her eyes and swung the bag around.>

"Ow!"

The bag connected with someone and she screamed.

"Jesus, Stephanie. Be quiet." She stopped when she recognized that voice. Slowly opening her eyes, she sighed.

Eric.

Dressed in his usual jeans and black leather jacket.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She sharply asked.

"Oh just in the neighborhood." He grinned at her and stepped forward a bit.

"In the neighborhood of a Smackdown event, in the middle of the night?" She couldn't believe he'd be stupid enough to step foot in her arena. "What are you realoingoing here?" She wouldn't back down, she wouldn't fall for that smile again.

"I've come to give my regards and to drop..." He pulled out her pair of panties from his jean pocket. "...these off."

She looked down at her underwear in his hand.

"Give those back." She whispered, her trembling hand reached out to grab them and he took his chance, he used his free hand and grabbed her wrist, yanking her towards him. She yelped as their bodies came in contact with each other.

"Why did you leave this morning?" He whispered, mere inches from her face. She averted her eyes from his gaze, this was too much for her. Be strong! You're a McMahon for god's sake!

"Huh?" He brushed a few stray hairs from in front of her face and tucked them behind her ear. "Sobered up and realized you made a tiny mistake? I know you said 'for tonight.' but I never thought you'd be so rude and leave me all alone." He pouted.

"It was a mistake. I don't even remember most of it." She hissed. There. That's good, be hostile!

He grinned. He didn't know if this was the right road, make her feisty and angry and then ease the whole smooth angle on again. He decided to go for it, what else did he have to lose? "Oh, a mistake? Hmm... I don't think so, Stephy. You got off on it. Two times, actually."

Eric nonchalantly tossed her panties onto the hood of her car and his hand gently took hold of her chin and made sure she paid attention. "Maybe I can give you something you need, something you got last night and obviously enjoyed."

He leaned into her, letting go of her chin, he pulled his hands away from her and placed both hands against the windows of her car, his arms trapping her against the car. She tensed up as his lips brushed against the tender skin of her neck and swallowed as his fingertips dragged along the skin of her neck and down to her top.

"Mmm..."

"Yeah, that's it..." He whispered.

She moaned as his fingers popped opened a button of her blouse.

"We can't..." She groaned as his fingers played with the clasp on the front of her bra.

"Yes, we can."

"No... no... really... we can't." Her hands quickly grabbed as much leather of his jacket as she could and violently shoved him away. He slammed into a concrete barrier, nearly falling backwards. Eric looked up in shock at the now angry Stephanie McMahon.

"You stay away from me. Don't think that my mistake about last night is an invitation for you to ever touch me again. You got that, Bischoff?" Her tone was deadly serious.

He dumbly nodded, still in shock at how much force Stephanie had pushed him with. Eric watched as she slammed her trunk shut and picked up her duffle bag from the asphalt and shoved it in the back seat, she fell into her car and quickly started it. So wrapped up in getting out of there, she didn't remember to grab her underwear from the hood and he watched as they fall to the way side as she peeled off.

He dusted himself off, trying to regain his composure. Eric smiled at the panties that sat on the ground. She was feisty, she was beautiful and he was hoping that she would be his. He picked up the panties and shoved them into his pocket, he still had to return him, it would be rude not to. It was crazy but Eric Bischoff never backed down from a challenge.
