Pixie Dust and Dark Voids
Chapter 3
Gerry moved his arm around Jades neck, brushing her bare back with his fingers. She shivered and snuggled closer into his bare chest, lifting her face to kiss him passionately. Her kiss made Gerry hard in seconds; he moved his hips as she sat upon him, kissing him all over his body. Gerry was in heaven, until she began punching him hard about the head, screaming wildly.
”WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP”
”Argh”, Gerry woke with a start, looking around he spotted the empty pillow next to him on the bed. Another swift blow was dealt to him.
”What the,” Gerry sat up and was suddenly and came face to face with Michelle, who looked ready to kill him.
”You are late; why are you still in bed? I don’t enjoy hauling your ass up Gerry.” As she was ranting, she was opening his wardrobe, throwing clothes at him. “What is it with you lately? You missed a photo shoot this morning, remember the re-take you wanted since you weren’t happy the other day. I bend over backwards to get that done and you are lying in bed. Now get up!”
Gerry scratched his head wildly, “I’m sorry, Shell, I didn’t figure I would sleep in.” Gerry was suddenly aware of his “excitement” very evident under his sheets; still eager to get back to his dream, he grabbed a pillow and held it over himself, smiling sweetly as he did. Michelle tut-tutted. “You men, its all you think about in the day and all you dream about in the night, but then Jade isn’t an It is she?”
Gerry face dropped, “Who says I was thinking about Jade?” Michelle began leaving the room “Your face, sweetie, and her number there on the bedside table 2 weeks after I’ve given it to you. You’ve got it bad you little Scot. Normally you’re right on to your next one by now. I’ll throw some coffee on, shall I?”
”A strong one”, Gerry stood up, begging his penis to go back to sleep, he headed to the shower.
Gerry screams of “FUCKINGHELL, ARGH” told Michelle the shower would be cold, and he wouldn’t be happy all day. Interesting though, he was clearly sexually frustrated. This was a new thing to Michelle; she was used to all his other moods, but this could be fun.
When Gerry finally joined her in the kitchen, she had his coffee waiting. Michelle sat, watching him.
He rubbed his eyes and shook his head as if the shower hadn’t already woken him up, then sat opposite, deep in his own thoughts, looking stupidly cute. No, not cute, she corrected herself. She shouldn’t think like that anymore, not ever.
“Gerry, are you ok?” Michelle leaned closer to him.
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine I’m just confused and oh, I don’t know. Should I call her?”
“You mean you haven’t already?”
“No, the day you gave me her number, she found me in Deltas café, and then we spent the day together. Thursday we went for dinner and she said she would call. That was nearly a week ago.” Gerry put his head in his hands, “Go on say it.” Michelle looked up innocently, while lighting two cigarettes and handing him one.
“What, I have nothing to say.”
“You do just say it”, Gerry inhaled and flumped headfirst back on the kitchen counter.
”Well, if I were to say anything… which was wasn’t about to, it would be something along the line of what goes around comes around.”
Gerry began lifting his head and banging it against the counter.
“Gerry, look, stop that.” Michelle pulled his head up. “Look at me, I don’t think Jade is a big an arse as you are. I know she will call, she’s not the type to hurt others.”
Gerry blinked “I’m sure there is comfort in there somewhere.”
“Look, you carry on banging your head, maybe you’ll gain sense, and I’ll call her later if you like, see what she’s been up to lately and see if she mentions you.”
Gerry stood up straight, “Really? Oh great, thanks.” He downed his coffee and grabbed his coat. “C’mon,” he smiled holding his hand out to Michelle, “My photo shoot awaits. I do like a good flashing in the face.”
”Tart” Michelle smiled and walked ahead.
Across town, Jade sat staring defiantly at the phone. Throwing herself back on the couch, her roommate walked in. Jake handed her coffee and sat down pulling her up to rest on his leg. “Honey, I wish you would just call him!” Jade sat up and looked at him, “I don’t know what to say!”.
Jake spluttered on his coffee and laughed, “You? Not knowing what to say? Unbelievable. Look, from everything you told me the other day, he’s sounds brilliant. Plus I’ve seen the Phantom, he’s sexy. I swear if you don’t call him, I will since Tom hasn’t called me back either.”
Jade shook her head, “Amazing Jake, Truly amazing, every time I have man troubles, you remind me of yours.”
”Right then” Jake stood up, “ I’m off to work, like a decent member of society, those burgers need flipping”.
Jade winced “Oh Jake, I don’t know why you do it; you know I don’t mind supporting you until you find something you enjoy doing.”
Jake glared at her “Look miss we don’t all have a rich daddy, I like to earn my keep. Now do yourself a favour, watch Phantom the WHOLE way through and see what you’re missing.”
”I have watched it.”
”You feel asleep during Christine’s rooftop betrayal”, Jake leaned dramatically on the roof, “What a bitch.”
”Well all the singing made me woozy.”
Jake shook his head, “Right, I’m off to work, see you later Daddy’s girl”, Jake jumped to miss the cushion hurled at him, and left the apartment.
Jade rested her head upon the back of the couch, still watching the door where Jake left. Smiling to herself “All the good ones are gay. I’ll bet Gerry is gay, no, my Gerry isn’t gay. My Gerry? Oh dear”
Jade dived over the couch and ran to the phone.
Gerry returned home several hours later to see his machine blinking. “Yeahy” he yelled aloud “Somebody loves me!” Punching the button he heard Jade’s voice fill the room.
“Hi Gerry, it’s erm Jade. If you remember me, maybe you don’t, well, YOU SHOULD. I’m phoning to check you’re not gay. Oh lord, did I just say that. I mean, are you busy at some point, any point or are you not busy so I can make you busy. Do I sound like a hooker or what? Bloody answer machines, I know, erm, call me when you get home and then I’ll ask you then. I won’t ask you if you’re gay, I mean if you’re free and, oh god, BYE!”
Gerry stared in amazement, and quickly called Michelle, having to leave a message.
“Hey, do I come across as gay to you? AT ALL?”
