Billies Loves Mike

HERE COMES THE MOTHER FUCKING BRIDE!!!

I apologize for the actual vows and things, but it wouldn't be a wedding without them. They're paragraphs long and I'm not offended if you skip them, but pay attention when Mike's supposed to say 'I do'.

I don't know if I did the wedding justice and I apologize. I tried really hard but this was really hard to write.

A/N: This chapter isn't told by Mike. It's third person.

Who Says Massachusetts Gets All the Fun?
Part Four: Billie Loves Mike

Here comes the bride
All dressed in white . . .

Hannah and Andrea emerged from the women's bathroom when Adie said those words, Andrea zipping up the back of Hannah's dress. They were best friends and had known Billie for three years. Andrea was a manicurist and Hannah was a hairdresser. Billie never went to anyone else.

Hannah grinned. "You look perfect, Billie Joe."

He sniffled and Andrea hugged him. "Don't cry yet." she whispered. "Save your tears for Mike."

Adrienne smiled and pointed at the stairs where Dakota and Alex were poking each other.
"Let's get going, ladies."

Billie grinned and kissed his best friend on the cheek. "You're too sweet to me, Adie."

*

Billie was picking at his nails until Adie hit them. "I didn't spend an hour polishing those so you could chip it all away. It's fine. Remember?"

"I-I know. I'm just nervous." He kissed Adie's cheek. "You look gorgeous, by the way."

She smiled. "Thanks. You're the perfect bride, Billie Joe. Sweet and beautiful and blushing. Blushing bride."

The doors opened and the girls walked down the aisle, throwing the flowers and talking to people they knew until they got the end of the aisle. Billie's mother caught them before they could keep walking.

Hannah and Andrea both smiled at Billie before they walked down the aisle in pale blue dresses Billie had agonized over for weeks. Three dressmakers and thirteen dress patterns before he was satisfied.

Adie linked her arm through Billie's and kissed his cheek before they walked down the aisle.

Tears sprung into Billie's eyes as everyone stood for the bridal march. This was the perfect wedding. Everyone happy and everyone loving what was happening. No harsh words. Nothing but smiles.

Billie looked ahead and saw Mike wiping at his own eyes. Tre looked awed, a shocking fact in itself. 'I love you.' Mike mouthed.

'Love you, too.' Billie mouthed back, a tear escaping his eye and running down his cheek.
He and Adie reached the altar and she went up, but Billie Joe froze. His breathing was too quick and Mike was in front of him before anyone could blink, calming him from the anxiety attack. "Breathe." he ordered softly. "Deep breaths, Billie Joe. 1 . . . 2 . . . 3."

Slowly, Billie's breathing resumed it's normal pattern and he nodded, paler than normal. "Okay. I'm ready now."

Mike took Billie's hand and lead him up to the altar. Neither let go and the minister smiled before starting.

"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together here in the face of this company – to join together these two men in holy matrimony, which is commended to be honorable among all men; and therefore – is not by any – to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly – but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. Into this estate these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together – let them speak now or forever hold their peace."

No one even breathed loudly and Billie giggled softly before the minister continued.

There was more talking, but neither man registered the words. Glassy green eyes stared into shining blue ones, laughing silently when their daughters began to fight in the front row, grinning at inside jokes no one had spoken.

But when they got to the vows, both men snapped to attention.

"Do you Mike Dirnt take Billie Joe Armstrong to be your husband--"

Billie Joe snapped his foot. "I'm the bride, dammit." He made a face. "I meant darn it."

The minister laughed and started over.

"Do you Mike Dirnt take Billie Joe Armstrong to be your wife? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon him your heart’s deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him as long as you both shall live?"

Mike smiled. "I do."

"And do you Billie Joe Armstrong take Mike Dirnt to be your husband? "I do." Billie said.

Then there were the rings. Tre dropped Billie's as he handed it to Mike and Billie Joe dropped his after Adrienne handed it to him.

The minister shook his head lightly, a smile on his face.

"Mike, please repeat after me." And Mike did.

"Billie Joe, you are now consecrated to me as my wife from this day forward and I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and as the symbol of our unity and with this ring, I thee wed."

Billie fought back tears as he repeated what the minister said, slipping the ring onto Mike's finger. "I love you." he added softly.

"I love you." Mike said back, just as quietly.

"And so, by the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife." Billie and Mike grinned. "You may kiss the bride."

Mike pulled Billie Joe into a kiss that lifted the other man off the ground and made Tre raise his eyebrows at Adrienne before whistling at the couple.

*

Billie Joe was dancing with Adrienne as Mike talked to his new mother-in-law, laughing about various things Billie had done through the years.

Tre was busy working his charm on Hannah and Andrea, kissing each alternately and convincing them to kiss each other after a couple rounds of shots. Billie and Mike didn't even comment when the three of them disappeared for an hour.

Then a slow song came on and Mike excused himself to go dance with Billie Joe, who wrapped his arms around Mike's neck and leaned his head against the other man's chest, eyes closed.

"You look so beautiful." Mike whispered.

"I damn well better." Billie Joe said back, laughing. "I spent five hours getting ready."

Mike grinned. "You can't ever be serious, can you?" But it was a joke. This was Billie Joe. The man who annoyed him to no end, who called Adrienne at three in the morning to gossip, the man who brought pregnancy tests and took Midol and burst into tears at spontaneous moments. The man who literally owned over a hundred pairs of shoes and shelled out fifty dollars for mascara ever month.

This was the man he loved. And if he didn't do all of those annoying things, he wouldn't be Billie Joe.

Billie straightened up so he could look at Mike. "You know what I'm looking forward to almost as much as the wedding?"

"What?"

"Honeymoon."

Mike laughed and kissed him, slipping his tongue past the soft lips. They separated only when they needed air and didn't stop with the kisses until the song ended.

"You know what?" Billie asked. "I didn't see Alex stick her thumb in her mouth once today."

Mike smiled. "I didn't either. Wow."

"She asked me to marry her when I was helping her into her dress." Billie said, laughing. "I told her I was taken. So damn cute."

"We did everything out of order." Mike said. "Moving in, then kids . . . then the wedding."
Billie smiled. "Yeah, but that's the way we are. One incredibly fucked up life with no rules."

"No rules?"

"None."

"Meaning we could have sex before the honeymoon?"

He needed to say no more.

*Sigh*. It's almost over guys and I don't really like this chapter. It was too short, completely unemotional. Tell me the God's honest truth because if it completely and totally sucked I'm going to revise.
