Chapter 3


"Gackt-sensei! Sensei!" Kaoru called after his teacher after another sports class, when all the others were already leaving. Gackt was sitting in the grass, head down. He had been acting very strangely the whole day and Kaoru felt bad because of it. Someone needed to talk with their teacher and he knew that someone was him.

Gackt raised his head when he stopped running and kneeled beside his teacher. "Kaoru", Gackt whispered very quietly. Kaoru noticed that his teacher was crying and got worried.

"Sensei, why are you crying? What is wrong? What has happened? Please, tell me!" Kaoru said. All Gackt-sensei's usual happiness was gone. Something was very wrong. Gackt was never sad, never.

"Just go and leave me alone", his teacher sighed sadly. "I don't want you to worry about me. This is not your problem."

"But I want to help!" Kaoru whispered as sadly as his teacher. "Talk to me. You are not acting like yourself, sensei. Tell me what is going on. I am worried about you!"

"Maybe it would be better if you took care of your own things", Gackt whispered. "Leave me be alone." Gackt sighed heavily and got up, looking even more stressed. Kaoru stood up too and shook his head. He didn't understand anything! "I'm not leaving you alone... Please talk to me."

Gackt eyed him sadly, thinking. Then his head fell down and he answered, body shaking: "Me and Yoshiki... We broke up."

Kaoru looked at his teacher shocked. What?! It wasn't possible! Yoshiki and Gackt had broke up? Why? They had been so happy together and Kaoru had never even seen them arguing. How could it be possible they broke up...? "What do you mean you broke up?" he asked eyes widened. "You can't have! You love each other!"

"We... have been arguing for a while. But... now it all turned to a really big fight."

"What was the reason for it?"

"Yoshiki... says that I have been cheating on him", Gackt whispered and then he started sobbing. "But it is not true! I haven't been cheating him with anyone. But he doesn't believe me. He says that I don't care about him at all. He says that we don't spend enough time together and he really thinks that I don't love him. And... he also says that... I have secret lover."

"And... you are sure that he hasn't got any reason to suspect you are cheating on him?"

"What kind of man do you think I am?!" Gackt cried out. "Of course I haven't cheated on him. He has no reason to suspect anything! I have been faithful all this time, you can be sure of that! He is my only man."

"Then tell him that, sensei", Kaoru said. "You must tell him how you feel. You can be together again and..."

"No, Kaoru. It won't work anymore. We can't be together anymore."

"Why not? What do you mean?"

"Because..." Gackt whispered crying. "He has cheated on me! He said that it was a right thing to do because I had cheated first. He wanted revenge... He has slept with many other men behind my back. And he isn't even sorry. He's happy. Our relationship is OVER. And... I have no one. I'm all alone and he doesn't care about me anymore. He hates me and doesn't even want to be my friend!"

"Sensei, you will find someone else. You are a good man, I know that. You are friendly, kind and helpful. You won't be alone forever. You'll find someone who makes you happy and loves you, I am sure of that."

"Really? Are you sure, Kaoru?" Gackt asked, smiling sadly.

"Yes", Kaoru answered. Gackt looked at him and smiled sweetly, looking a bit happier now. Then he took a step forward and wrapped his arms around Kaoru, hugging him tight. At first Kaoru felt awkward because of it, but then he hugged his teacher back, smiling happily. Gackt was a lovely teacher. Even though Gackt was his teacher, he was also his friend. He would be there for him, sensei could always trust him.

They were hugging each other for a long time until finally Gackt let go of him. They looked at each other smiling and Kaoru felt his heart beating really fast, and he was shocked for a moment. What was this? It couldn't be... No, it was nothing. "Thank you for listening", Gackt said. "I am so lucky to have you as my student and friend."

"You're welcome, sensei", Kaoru whispered shyly. "But now I have to go home. I have a mathematics test tomorrow."

"Okay. You really are an excellent student", Gackt said and smiled warmly. "There should be more people like you."

"Thank you", Kaoru whispered and started walking away. Then, almost twenty meters away he turned around and shouted: "Sensei, Yoshiki doesn't know what he has lost", and continued his going. Gackt looked after him, still smiling. That boy was so kind and understanding. Kaoru's friends were lucky to have him.

"What exactly do you mean, Kaoru-kun?" Daisuke asked next day, very surprised. "Yoshiki and Gackt have broke up? How?"

"Gackt-sensei told me after the sports class yesterday", Kaoru answered. "I couldn't believe it myself, but... it's true. They are not together, not anymore. Yoshiki-sensei left him because he thought that Gackt was cheating on him. And Yoshiki had been sleeping with many men behind his back. But Gackt-sensei swore that Yoshiki is his only man. I was thinking that... maybe someone should talk to him..."

"You mean Yoshiki? Don't think that he will be appeased. Didn't you hear what he did this morning?"

"No, I haven't heard. What did he do?"

"He hit one student. I heard that he got furious without any good reason. That student had only said that he doesn't understand and had asked if Yoshiki could explain again. And then he had hit him. I can't remember his name..."

"Oh! Shinya Terachi! I did hear about him. He's that new girlish boy who has a long hair", Kaoru sighed. "I heard of that but I couldn't believe it. Yoshiki-sensei isn't like that. He is always so nice and helpful. Why would he hit anyone? Everyone likes him."

"Well, I don't know. But... I've heard this Shinya is poor at mathematics and that he's starting to receive some lessons of it after school days", Daisuke explained. "With some other two boys."

Kaoru shook his head, shocked. No! "What?!" he cried out. "With who?"

"Toshimasa Hara and Tooru Nishimura", Daisuke said. "Why are you angry?"

"Because I am their teacher! I have to teach them! And I already have no peace and quiet with those TWO. Toshimasa and Tooru don't learn a thing nor do they even try! They only quarrel with each other and Toshimasa even sleeps in class! And Tooru doesn't do anything but keeps drawing on his desk! So, I will give up if I can't have someone to help me with them. I can't take a third student when I can't survive with two!"

"But Yoshiki trusts your talents in mathematics", Daisuke sighed. "You are his favorite student. You can't give up yet. You won't have stipend if you-"

"You don't know what I've been through! You have no idea how stressing it is to teach those two ASSHOLES. They are hopeless. I have been teaching the same things whole last week but they don't even know what is the square root!!! I can't take it anymore. Does Yoshiki really think that I can do miracles?"

"Let's go and ask him if you could have someone to help you with those three students", Daisuke said laughing.

"What do you want?" Yoshiki asked, seeming very angry when they arrived to his class a moment later. Daisuke had problems not to laugh because Kaoru had just told him that Yoshiki had slept with many men. And Kaoru felt awkward because if Yoshiki really had hit that new boy, Shinya...

"We just came because... I need some help. I can't teach Hara, Nishimura and Terachi alone. I need someone to help me", Kaoru said quietly.

"Help? With only three students? You really are a worthless one, Niikura", Yoshiki hissed and Kaoru felt like he had just been hit hard on the face. Why was Yoshiki talking to him with that tone? What had he done to his teacher? "So, you have given up as a teacher? So, we need an other teacher in your place because you can't handle with THREE students! You could never become a REAL teacher. I should have known that. And be careful because your mathematics marks are starting to get lower."

"Excuse me what? What are you talking about?" Kaoru whispered shocked. "What have I done? Am I not good enough in mathematics? And I am not giving up, I only need assistance in teaching... Hara and Nishimura are already enough for me... Please, sensei. I'm begging you!"

"Okay then! From this day forward ANDOU helps you", Yoshiki said coldly, glaring at Kaoru with a disgusted expression on his face. "Anything else?!"

"WHAT?! WHY ME?!" Daisuke shouted angrily. "I don't WANT to!"

"But you will help Niikura because I say SO!" Yoshiki shouted back. "And now get out of here! Niikura has already got everything he wanted! Go! I have MUCH more important things to do than listening your whining all day!"

"Daisuke, let's go..." Kaoru sighed and they walked to the door. When they had closed the door behind them, they heard Yoshiki throwing something against it with a crash . Both boys startled.

"This is not a hint, but he is SICK!" Daisuke hissed and shook his head. "He has some serious problems. Should we be worried? He is totally scary..."

"..." Kaoru couldn't say anything. He was thinking hard. He had always been Yoshiki's favorite student, but clearly he wasn't anymore. He remembered Yoshiki's cold stare and for some reason Yoshiki seemed to have suddenly something against him. But he hadn't done anything! So... why did Yoshiki hate him now?

That evening Daisuke and Kaoru were walking together towards the mathematics class, ready to begin teaching Toshimasa, Tooru and Shinya. Daisuke was very nervous because Kaoru had told him 'horror stories' of Toshimasa and Tooru. "If nothing else isn't working, I'm threatening Toshimasa with the pointer", Kaoru explained to his friend. "Usually it is the only way, but it really works. I only say that I'm going to stick a pointer to some uncomfortable place."

"What?!" Daisuke howled. "I don't think that it is allowed...?"

"No one knows that. And besides, you will go nuts too with those brats. And if that Shinya is just like those two..."

Together they arrived in the mathematics class and Kaoru closed the door behind them. They marched in front of the class and Daisuke eyed the students surprised. "There is only two of you. There should be three. Where is the third one?"

"Yeah there SHOULD be three of us, but Shinya is late", Tooru growled, glaring angrily at Toshiya the same time. Toshiya looked back gritting his teeth. They were like two bloodthirsty dogs ready to attack each other. "Stop that right away!" Kaoru shouted. "And now we'll only have to wait for Shinya." He opened a file that was left to teacher's desk. Yoshiki should have left some teaching material for him. "Hey, what is this?" he asked, eyes widened. Daisuke, Tooru and Toshimasa turned to look at him.

"What's wrong?" Daisuke asked worriedly.

"Yoshiki didn't leave me anything", Kaoru whispered. Now he was very amazed. This couldn't be an accident. Yoshiki really had something against him. First Yoshiki had shouted at him and now this... What the heck was going on?!

"YEAH!" Tooru cheered and did a high five with Toshiya. Both of them were smiling happily now. But Kaoru wasn't happy, not at all. "You think this is funny, huh?" he asked, very angry.

"Of course this is fun", Toshiya said grinning. "Yahoo!"

"If I were you I wouldn't laugh. Because this means that you'll only have to work harder. This class will be at least two hours long. Are you still having fun?!"

"No... But if the class is that long, I demand a coffee break", Toshiya yawned.

"Coffee?" Daisuke breathed. "Why would we take a coffee break?!"

"Come on, no one can stay awake two hours studying math!" Toshiya explained. Tooru nodded in agreement.

"You will stay awake! I'll take care of that!!!" Kaoru roared.

"Kaoru, take it easy... Do not lose control..." Daisuke tried to calm his best friend down. "Okay, okay..." Kaoru sighed heavily. "But those bastards make me want to shoot someone... But well, without any material...-"

"...We are having a party?" Tooru asked hopefully. "I agree", Toshiya laughed but Kaoru and Daisuke disagreed. Daisuke was almost shocked. What was wrong with these two boys? Studying had always been the number one in his life, especially mathematics. It was the easiest school subject right after physics... But then they all heard a yawning voice from the door.

"Sorry I'm late."
