Razorblade Kiss

Chapter 4
Razorblade Kiss

Ville Valo was most certainly going to gently smolder in the deepest, hottest, blackest pits of the Underworld for what he was doing. He shouldn’t be remembering what had happened in that bathroom. He shouldn’t be remembering how Rave’s hands slid up to his shoulders to give her balance, the way her beautiful face looked just before her soft lips tenderly brushed his and oh no he had a boner.

He resisted- only through the greatest will power- taking care of it. He cast his thoughts to the most un-arousing things he could possibly think of, and wondered what had possessed him to let those beautiful lips touch his even for a moment.

That kiss, that sweetly intoxicating razorblade kiss from a sweetly poisonous girl like that, was enough to suck him into a drunken haze, even without beer.

Bam Margera had never wanted to hurt anyone as much as he wanted to hurt Ville at that moment. He had seen what Rave and Ville had done in that bathroom. That kiss, though innocent, was enough to make Bam’s blood boil in his veins. Though Rave was her own woman, and though Novak had no claim to her, what about him? Didn’t he have a claim, to both of them?! What about Brandon Cole Margera? What was he supposed to do without… without his best friend? Who was falling in love with his other best friend by the look of it!

Lying in bed in the middle of the night, Bam wiped tears of white-hot pain from his cheeks and cuddled the wine-red crushed velvet coat to his chest, inhaling that familiar, comforting scent. How could his best friend… steal the most precious thing in his life? And just when had that label come to be applied?

How could he face Ville in the morning? And Rave… Rave would know that something was off, that he was feeling differently. And with Dico jumping down her throat every five seconds and her so emotionally fragile over Novak, he couldn’t afford to make things worse… even if his heart were breaking.

What was he supposed to do?

Brandon Novak was in a rare position. Usually it was his tears that Rave dried with the edges of her sleeves as he tried to resist the sweet call of hypodermic bliss. But now she was curled up on his lap in the middle of the night, sobbing quietly into the front of his muscle shirt.

Novak couldn’t remember the last time he’d seen her cry. In all the times she’d come to see him in rehab, all the times she’d taken care of him after he’d been let out, he’d never seen so much as a pair of wet eyes, much less real, whooping, breathless sobs like these. It made his heart ache in his chest.

Out of everyone he knew, Rave was the one person who didn’t dislike him at all for any reason and never tried to do anything to him or make him do anything for her. No pranks, no stunts, no insults, no hurting… just her hug every morning and a kiss on the cheek, sometimes a random wildflower from the yard handed off. Always with gentle love and never any demands. She was the epitome of unconditional love.

And Bam, Dico, Ville, and even Ape and Phil were the ones who’d yanked this little angel into this fit of crying. They had some serious explaining to do.
