=====
Kelly paced around her house, waiting for someone, anyone to show up and distract her. She laughed to herself when she realized that she was humming "Last Name" again. Seems Ashley was right, she kept doing it without even noticing. She continued humming into the kitchen, as she gathered a few snacks to set out on the porch.

Just as she was finishing setting the chips and salsa, the doorball rang. "Oh, crap!" she had a momentary freak out knowing Carrie was already there.

She went to the front door and opened it to notice a slightly nervous Carrie waiting. "Well, this is what she calls sweats?" Kelly thought. "She looks hot....and I do not need to be thinking that!"

"Hi, welcome," she greeted her warmly.

Carrie walked up and gave her a quick hug as she came up into the foyer. Kelly welcomed the hug, as she breathed in the sweet scent of coconuts. "Hmm, she smells nice..." Realizing she didn't want to be weird, she pulled away quickly, stepping aside so Carrie could come in.

"I'm not late, am I?" Carrie asked. She took in the sight of Kelly before her. Casual, relaxed, wearing a gray Texas tee and her "holy" jeans. Cute. Then she glanced into the living room. It looked comfortable, there were pictures of Kelly and her family and, she guessed friends, everywhere.

Kelly smiled. "Nope. They're not here yet. Ashley called me a bit ago. Apparently, there was a storm leaving Ft. Worth, so Jess' flight is running a tad late."

"Oh, that sucks."

"For her, yes," Kelly cracked. "Anyway, come in, make yourself comfortable. Can I get you anything?"

"Well, what are you having? 'Cause I'm not gonna be the drunk guinea pig...."

"Aw, crap. Shoot, there goes my plan..." Kelly winked.

"Huh," Carrie laughed. "You are sooo transparent." She decided to be to have a little bit of fun. There was really no harm in teasing the girl. "Besides, you don't really need to get me drunk...." she trailed off with a grin.

Kelly's eyes widened. "Whoa," she chuckled. "Definitely didn't see that coming...especially from you."

Suddenly Carrie got a tad flustered. "Anyway....drink?"

"Oh, right. I did say margaritas. Does that work for you or did you want something else? I got gin, whiskey, bourbon, tequila, vodka, brandy, Bailey's...plus mixers and beer."

"Wow, are you operating an illegal bar out of this place or what?"

"Haha, no. I just keep my options open. I'd rather have the stuff here and host my friends. It's safer. They can crash here if they've had too much, and I don't have to deal with the press."

"Sounds like a smart plan," Carrie said as Kelly guided her into the kitchen.

"Tell me about it. Especially after the one time I was caught on tape drunk with one of my friends. I got pulled on stage and sang my drunk ass off...next thing I know, I'm on freakin' youtube!"

Carrie laughed. "Yeah. Heaven forbid one of us drinks..."

"So, what will it be?" Kelly asked reaching for a glass.

"Margarita sounds fine, even if it is loaded with calories..."

"Please. You look amazing. A night of 'ritas isn't gonna kill you...and calories don't count when you're with your friends," Kelly teased.

"Just for you, alright."

"So, how do you like it?" Kelly smiled, not meaning for it to sound dirty, but failing.

Carrie cleared her throat. "I'll take it on the rocks, with salt, please."

"Ok," Kelly turned to the fridge door to get some ice. Then she opened the fridge to reveal her surprise. "Here," she said showing off the bottle. "Does this work?"

Carrie laughed. "Cuervo, huh?"

"Well," Kelly teased. "You did say that your man was gold..."

She couldn't hide the smile at realizing that Kelly knew her song. "Ok, I expected you to be a dork, but you're such a cheeseball..."

"You say cheeseball, but I think I'm just cute..." Kelly poured a shot into the glass. "Ok, no, not really."

"Ok, none of that....you're cute and you know it."

Kelly blushed avoiding the subject all together. She added her special margarita mix and handed the drink over. "Here you go." She turned to make one for herself. As she did, she could feel Carrie's eyes on her.

For her part, the blonde just sat on the stool curiously watching the girl before her. Thinking to herself how she seemed to radiate such kindness and light. As Kelly reached for a glass with her back to Carrie, the blonde let her eyes wonder over her. "What the hell am I doing?" she stopped herself as she looked at Kelly's ass. "Well, that thing is huge...it's practically begging to be stared at!"

Kelly turned to find Carrie with a slight blush. "You look flushed. Are you ok?"

"Oh, yeah." she took a sip. "It's the tequila...." she attempted to cover.

"Oh uh. You're a lightweight, aren't ya?"

"Hey....no, not really."

The Texan walked from behind the counter towards Carrie. "Come on, let's go to the porch."

Carrie stepped into the screened wood and stone porch. "Wow, this is beautiful," she marveled, noticing a guitar stand next to the fireplace. "You play?"

Kelly motioned to the couches facing each other by the fireplace. "Thanks. Yeah, I've been out here a lot lately. Seems to be the perfect spot to write." Kelly sat on the right couch, Carrie followed her lead and sat next to her.

Both turned to face each other. "So...." Carrie fidgeted with the edge of her glass.

"So..." Kelly repeated. "They should be here any minute. In the meantime, wanna play a game?"

Carrie gave her a sideways glance. "Sure...wait, what kind of game?"

"I could be cliche and say never have I ever..." Carrie's eyes widened. "I'll let you off the hook for now," Kelly snickered.

"Alright. But you couldn't handle this if you tried..."

Kelly's jaw dropped, "Ahem, promises, promises."

Carrie decided to stop the teasing while she was ahead. She still wasn't sure why flirting with Kelly came so easy to her. "I don't flirt with girls...well, really, it's not flirting if it's a girl...is it?" The girls just sat there, taking the occassional sip of their drink and trying to figure each other out.

Kelly, for her part, kept hoping her friends would finally show up. Not that she didn't tremendously enjoy the blonde's company, but she needed the distraction of having her friends. "It'll be less obvious I'm staring at her, when there's other people to look at in the room....no, it won't. Ashley's gonna be on my ass about it the whole time.Well, crap."

"Ok, seriously," the blonde finally broke the silence. "what do you do for fun?"

"Well, I hang out with my brother and Ashley most of the time. Sometimes I'll have a few friends come in from Burleson. I really spend most of my time with my friends, doing normal stuff."

Carrie was captivated by Kelly's easy flow of conversation, and had to listen carefully as the Texan spoke a mile a minute. "Yeah?"

"Most of the time, we're at the house, playing games. Charades, Scrabble, which I kick ass by the way, Guitar Hero, sometimes Rock Band, cards, the occasional drinking game."

Carrie laughed. "Aren't you a little past drinking games?"

Kelly looked horrified. "Never! Circle of Death is an American classic....haven't you ever played?"

Carrie laughed. "Honey, I'm from the sticks. How do you think I got through high school and college? Friday night bonfires with my friends. Singing, playing drinking games, and laughing the nights away. Good times..."

Kelly stared in wonder as the blonde's face lit up at the mention of old times. "You miss Oklahoma, huh?"

Carrie turned serious. "Some times. I mean, I'm insanely grateful for everything that's happened. I just wish I could go home more often. But I guess, Nashville is home now...."

Kelly smiled. " I gotcha. I've kinda been trying to make this town my second home too. It's looking better now..." Both turned when they heard the sounds of the front door opening.

"Oh, that must be them," Kelly stood up. "Let me go say hi. You wanna come meet them?"

"Sure," Carrie smiled nervously.

Kelly noticed and took her hand. "Don't worry. They're really fun..."

They made their way hand in hand into the living room. They quickly let of of each other's hands, but not before Ashley noticed. She smiled knowingly at Kelly, who just shrugged.

"Honey, I'm home!" Jess yelled right in front of Kelly, before enveloping her into a bear hug.

"About time!" Kelly teased as they broke apart. "You know how long I've been slaving over the kitchen making margaritas and getting the chip and salsa ready? It's hard work, I tell ya..."

"So,anyway," Jess eyed the blode over Kelly's shoulder. "Why didn't you tell me you were having another star here? I would've dressed up or something."

Both Carrie and Kelly laughed. "Jess, stop being a dork. This is Carrie."

Jess smiled at the blonde. "Um, I figured. Nice to meet you," she extended her hand.

"You too," Carrie smiled shyly.

"Ok, we need to work on this, Kel, Gotta loosen her up a bit..." Ashley teased.

"Ha, well, I'm trying...trust me!" Kelly shook her head she she realized how it sounded. "Uhhh...well, you know. Shoot. There I go again, open mouth, insert foot."

"Ew, you have a foot fetish?" Carrie asked. "Gross." That caused everyone to laugh. "Besides, I already told you that you do not have to get me drunk..." she winked.

Ashley and Jess looked at each other confused. "Well," Jess smirked. "Looks like I've missed alot since I went home last time...."

Ashley smiled knowingly, "Apparently so. But no worries, it looks like Carrie is going to fit right in."

Kelly beamed as she looked at the blonde. "Yup, it sure looks like it," she whispered as Carrie smiled brightly at her.
