Intrigued
Joey had been and chatting with Gaahl for a short while, when he heard footsteps approaching down the hall. He saw a young woman with long blonde hair pass the doorway to where they sat. She glanced at them and he was immediately struck by the color of her eyes, a brilliant Amethyst.
"Aurora, you remember Satyr yes?" Gaahl asked, motioning for her to sit down. She gracefully sat down, and nodded slightly. She seemed shy, and somewhat put off by their presence. Satyr grinned at her, he must have met her before. "This is Joey, he is visiting from America. Joey this is Gaahl's niece Aurora." She smiled politely at him, and he attempted to give her a genuine one in return, but her uncle was making him extremely nervous. She did not seem to concerned with Joey's lack of enthusiasm, which was a relief.
"If you will please excuse me fellows, I'm feeling a little off and would like to lay down." She stated, her voice sounding as smooth as satin to him. She lifted herself off of the sofa where she sat and exited the room. Joey couldn't manage to take his eyes off of her. He heard Satyr chuckle and turned to him, a questioning look upon his face. "As beautiful as Aurora is, she is what you Americans would call an ice queen." Satyr said looking at him, the amusement evident in his eyes.
"It's true, Aurora has never had much human contact growing up in this small village." Gaahl said shaking his head in disappointment. Joey nodded lightly, coddling the glass of red wine that he held in his hands. He feigned interest in the conversation at hand, but all that was on his mind was the mysterious girl that he would be sharing a home with for several days.
Suddenly Satyr's voice jarred him from his thoughts. "Isn't that right Joey?" The large man asked looking straight at Joey. "Hmm?" "If you weren't daydreaming you would have heard Gaahl and I discussing how it may be a good idea to bring Aurora to the city with us, to expose her to some human contact." Satyr stated looking less than impressed. "Sorry, I'm still feeling a little fuzzy after that long plane ride." He responded, the excuse rolling off of his tongue easily. "No harm done." Gaahl said looking at him quizzically. Joey nodded politely, and returned his gaze to the maroon liquid that had warmed in his grip.
"I'm feeling really exhausted after that long walk up the mountain, would it be alright if I headed to bed?" He queried, still a little apprehensive around the man. "Ah of course, allow me to show you and Satyr to your room." Gaahl said, placing his half empty glass of wine upon the table and standing up.
Sleep was upon Joey almost instantaneously after his head touched the pillow, but yet it was not exactly restful.
