Part 3
Danny: “That must be the guys.” James saw the look on my face and put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “Don’t worry, they don’t bite!” he said cheerfully while heading into the hallway to answer the door. I sat there in the living room trying to calm myself while listening for the voices that were about to come. I heard James answer the door and greet whoever it was that was there (if you count “It took you fucking long enough” as a greeting). I also heard two other voices reply with a sarcastic tone to them. Since I only heard two voices, I was only expecting two guys to return with James; but, instead, there were three. James was first back into the room – he went straight to the kitchen to grab some beers for everyone. He was followed by a guy with dark brown hair and a single lip piercing on the right corner of his mouth. This guy – who I recognised to be Sam – was followed by a taller guy with long black hair. The guy who was behind him was who really caught my attention, though. Now, I’m not gay… but this dude was fucking gorgeous! He had long mousey brown hair that was poking out from under the black beanie he was wearing. His face was perfection and – oh, God – his mouth… He was biting the two lip piercings that were on the left corner of his mouth, which just made him look even sexier. Like I said, I’m not gay – I’m simply taking note of another guys good looks. It’s okay to do that, right? He plopped himself down on the chair near the window and smiled (the sexiest fucking smile ever) at me – which made the lip piercings glint in the little light that was emerging through the window. “Hey, Danny. Long-time no see, huh?” Sam was sat on the arm of the sofa across the room from me along with the other guy (who was sat on the actual sofa, though). His voice snapped me away from the trance that that guy had over me. “Uh, yeah. I can hardly remember the first time we met though,” I said with a laugh at the end to delay the awkward silence that would most probably follow afterwards. Sam laughed a little too and said, “Yeah, me neither. It was one hell of a wild night!” James came back with the beers and handed one to all of us. We sat in silence for a while as we all took a few gulps of the ice cold beer. Fuck, this was awkward. “Oh, fuck! I forgot to introduce you all,” James gulped down the beer he had in his mouth and gestured toward the guy with the black hair. “Danny, this is Cam. Cam, Danny.” We nodded our heads once as a silent greeting. ”You already know Sam, so no introduction’s needed there.” James then nodded his head towards the (gorgeous) guy seated by the window. “And that’s Ben,” he said while lifting the beer to his lips to take another swig. Ben nodded at me and smiled again. An even longer silence followed as we all drank our beers. Ben sat forward and put his empty bottle down on the windowsill. “Are we just going to sit here and drink beers all afternoon or are we actually going to see if this guy deserves to be in the band or not?”
