NeedleStick

His band, My Chemical Romance, arguably the greatest band of our time, had just ended.

And my band, my nothing, no mark on the richter scale, band, NeedleStick, was just beginning.

I had already been carrying on an imaginary relationship in my head with Gerard, or so I'd been told. And though a psychic band with him wasn't totally impossible, he'd only spoken to me once in my almost 25 years of life. And that was to apologize to me for not being able to hug me after a concert this one time.

I wanted him. I feared rejection.

I cosplayed as Helena. I dressed up in the peach wedding dress I'd married him in, in a dream.

I still wanted him. Even though in my still yet uncrazed mind, I had been rejected already, I still somehow thought I had a chance with him.

An innocent thought.

A chance of a date with a rock star I'd met only once before.

Gerard Way.

The man of my dreams.

Well, Scarecrow was next in line I guess. But if that was true, it was a sundae, and Gerard was the cherry on top. And if it wasn't true, then I guess it just wasn't.
