"Baby,
To me you're like a growing addiction
That I can't deny."

"Miss me?" Carrie smiled as Kelly joined her in the hall outside of Michael's office.
"No," Kelly replied flatly.
Carrie's face fell.
"Sorry," she laughed. "I just didn't have much time to think about anything at all today."
"Yea, I've had those before."
"So, tell me something," Kelly said, leaning against the wall on the side of her. "Have you and Michael talked like face to face since the big night?"
"Um, no," Carrie admitted.
"Has he tried to ask you out again?"
"No," she shook her head.
"Hey, maybe you'll be lucky, and it'll turn out that he thought you were a sucky date too."
"Gee, thanks Kell."
"Glad I could help," she grinned as the door opened.
"Come on in," Michael waved to the two of them.
Kelly walked into the office with Carrie right behind her, hurrying in, trying not to make eye contact with Michael. They both sat down, and Michael closed the office door, joining them.
"So," he began. "I've got some good news and some bad news. Which would you like first?"
"The good news," Kelly quickly replied. "Always the good news."
He laughed, "Ok, the good news is we are in the middle of organizing a launch party for the campaign."
"I like this good news," Kelly smiled.
"And the bad news?" Carrie asked, still not quite meeting his eye.
"The bad news is that the party will be in three weeks, and we still have another photo shoot and several commercial spots to do."
Kelly fought against the urge to grown.
"Do you two think you'll be able to fit those in somehow? I mean, I know how busy you are and everything."
"No problem," Kelly nodded.
"Yea, of course," Carrie replied.
"Ok," he nodded. "Well, for some reason I thought this would've taken longer. Unless, either of you have something you want to talk about?"
They both shook their heads.
"Nothing at all?" he asked, looking hopefully at Carrie.
She looked down at her hands that were clasped in her lap.
"Well then," he cleared his throat, adjusting his tie. "I will see you two soon."
Kelly gave him a smile as she exited behind Carrie.
"You ok?" she asked as they walked down the hall.
"Yea," Carrie nodded with a sigh. "This is just all so...messy."
"Yea," Kelly agreed. "Hey, how about some fun?"
"Fun sounds good," Carrie smiled.

"Not fair!" Carrie exclaimed.
"I think it's perfectly fair," Kelly smiled.
"Me too," Alex nodded.
The two idols were seated around a table with several of the kids playing spoons.
"You can't hold a spoon for her," Carrie fussed. "That's cheating."
Kelly smiled, "Alex, tell Carrie our motto."
"If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying," Alex declared, hitting her tiny fist on the table, emphasizing her point.
Carrie's jaw dropped as she turned to the Texan, "Is that what you're teaching these kids?"
"Maybe..."
"I swear, I don't know who I'm supposed to be watching over more, them or you," she laughed.
"Is that cookies?" Kelly asked, the smell of fresh baked cookies hitting her nose. She stood up quickly, racing the children out of the game room.
Carrie shook her head, standing as well, "Definitely you."

"So, what's next? Phone interview, right?" Carrie asked as they walked out of the hospital.
Kelly laughed, "It's sad when you know my schedule better than I do."
"Yea, but I'm not the one having to live it out, so I have more free space in my brain to actually be able to think."
"Yea," she nodded, checking her missed text messages.
"Graham?" Carrie asked, softly.
"No, Jason," Kelly sighed. She turned to Carrie with an innocent smile.
"Fine," she laughed, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and walking the two of them to her car. "I'm gonna start making you pay my gas bill," she teased.
"Whatever, you know you love driving me around," Kelly smiled, getting into the car.
"And why is that?" Carrie asked, doing the same.
"Because I make this granny car so much cooler," she grinned, slipping on her sunglasses.
Carrie shook her head, laughing softly as she pulled out of the parking lot.
"So how was your cookie?" she asked after a moment of silence.
"I don't know," Kelly pouted.
"Did you not taste it?"
"Alex asked for it."
"You gave her your cookie?" Carrie asked, fighting the urge to 'aww'.
"You try saying no to those puppy dog eyes she's got," Kelly grumbled.
"It's ok," Carrie smiled, reaching over and patting her leg. "There will be other cookies."
"There damn well better be."
Carrie laughed again, "So, these phone interviews...on your cell phone, or what?"
"Yea," she nodded. "Why? You feel like some company?"
Carrie shrugged, "Ace asked when you were coming back."
"The dog asked when I was coming back?" she raised an eyebrow.
"Yea, something about he wants to discuss going to a nude beach or something with you. I told him you were into that sort of thing."
"Shut up," she laughed, pushing her playfully.
