Chapter 37

+++++++++

Kelly felt her heart drop, surge, and break all at once. She shakily got to her feet, her eyes already swimming with tears.

"Care?" she managed to choke out.

"Miss me?" Carrie asked, shakily, the initial thrill of seeing Kelly again turning into nerves at the look in the hazel eyes that were staring back at her.

Kelly couldn't find the proper words to entail just how much she had missed the girl before her. The tears started to flow.

"Oh baby," Carrie said, crossing the room quickly, to wrap the short Texan in her arms. "I missed you so much," she said, kissing the top of her head, both of them clinging to each other. She could feel Kelly fully breaking down in her arms, and she only held her closer, her own tears escaping. She had forgotten how good it felt to be like this, to be completely wrapped up in her. Carrie swore that she would never take this feeling for granted again.

"I missed you," Kelly finally managed.

Carrie pulled away slightly, kissing her on her forehead, then moving to her cheeks, her eyes, her nose, anything she could find. She finally connected with her lips, and they both nearly melted into each other as the erupting emotions sent them dizzy.

"I love you so much," Carrie said, pulling away and cradling her face in her hands. "You have no idea how much I love you."

Kelly smiled through the tears, "I think I do."

Carrie smiled back, kissing her once more. Kelly wrapped her arms around Carrie's neck, pulling her closer, craving the softness of her lips against her own.

"Wow," Carrie breathed, as they pulled back a second for air.

"I love you too," Kelly whispered as their eyes closed and their lips moved nearer for another kiss.

Carrie's eyes shot open, "What?"

"I love you too," Kelly repeated, laughing softly.

"Really? I mean are you sure?"

"Of course I'm sure," Kelly replied. "I mean I can't live without you. I'd do anything for you. When I'm around you I can't think because my head's all fuzzy, and it's like attack of the godzilla butterflies in my stomach. And when I'm not around you...just don't make me be not around you anymore."

Carrie could feel her eyes start to water again, but this time for an entirely different reason, "When?"

"When what?"

"When did you?"

"Fall in love with you?" Kelly asked. "Probably that first time you came back for me. When I walked out the bathroom in only a towel and you were just sitting on my bed. You were just like this perfect angel of hope, waiting there, and I couldn't help but fall in love with you. I was just too afraid to admit it to myself."

"But you're admitting it now?"

"I'm proclaiming it now," Kelly corrected, kissing her fully. She felt Carrie sigh into the kiss, and she stepped forward, pushing their two bodies together.

"We can't do this here," Carrie giggled, pulling away.

"The bus," Kelly said before kissing her again.

"Kell?" Carrie questioned.

"I need you," Kelly replied.

"I need you too," she smiled. "I need you in my life, and now I know that I can't be without you."

"No, I mean, yes that too, I mean, " Kelly growled in frustration, looking up at Carrie, her eyes completely darkened. She pushed herself against Carrie, kissing her hungrily. "I need you," she whispered, her voice low.

"Now?" Carrie squeaked.

"Now," Kelly repeated huskily. Her hand fell to the small of Carrie's back, pushing their hips together as she kissed her once more. This time less rough, but with so much more intention.

"Now," Carrie nodded, breathlessly. She took Kelly by the hand and led her out of the building.

++++++++

"What if someone comes?" Carrie asked as Kelly closed the door of the bus behind her.

"They're all staying at a hotel," Kelly replied, kissing her heavily.

"Don't you want to go to the hotel?" Carrie questioned. "I mean for come on Kell, we're on a freaking bus. Don't you want our first time to be special?"

Kelly looked at her with an amused expression.

"What?"

"I don't understand why people say that crap," she replied. "It's our first time, like you said, so we could do it in a McDonald's bathroom, and it'd still be special."

Carrie smiled as their lips met again. She felt Kelly's body push against her and reality suddenly crashed down around her.

"Kell," she said pulling away, only to have the short Texan move to her neck. "Kell," she groaned, pulling farther away, regretfully.

"What now?" Kelly asked impatiently.

Carrie couldn't help but laugh at her, "You sure are a fiery one, you know that?"

"If you stopped me just to say that..." Kelly warned.

"No, I just think we should talk," Carrie said. "You know, about us, and where we stand, and everything that's been going on."

"Seriously? You wanna talk now?" Kelly asked. "You wanna talk now?"

"I just want to know where your heads at," Carrie explained.

"Alright," Kelly said, backing her against the wall, her lips on her neck. "Where have you been?"

"In Nashville," Carrie replied breathlessly.

"Really?" Kelly asked sarcastically, pulling back.

"I've been busy. You know that," Carrie frowned.

"You could have called. Texted. Emailed. Anything, Care."

"Hey, I've said it before," Carrie said, taking a step forward, making Kelly back up. "That works two ways."

"Well, if you weren't going to try, I didn't see the point," Kelly countered, her anger rising.

"I was trying, damn it. So don't you dare say other wise," Carrie glared.

"Well then maybe you weren't trying hard enough."

"Again, so what? Maybe I wasn't," Carrie replied. "But at least I didn't just give up."

"I didn't give up. Hello, I've been running myself ragged trying to make this work," Kelly said, pushing away from her and making her way to the back room.

"Oh, no you don't," Carrie frowned, grabbing her arm and pulling her back in front of her. "You are not running from this."

"I don't want to talk about it," Kelly said, struggling to get out of her grip.

Carrie backed her into a wall, pinning her there.

"You never want to talk about anything," she fussed. "You just let it build up inside of you, slowly eating away at you. That's never gonna help you settle anything."

"What are you now? My shrink?"

"No, but you obviously need one."

"Bitch."

"Tease."

Carrie winced as soon as the word escaped her lips. She could see the fire in Kelly's eyes, and she prepared for the backlash that would no doubtly occur. What she didn't expect was a hand on the back of her neck, pulling her roughly downward crashing their lips together.

Kelly then pulled back, pushing her away angrily.

"Come back here," Carrie said, grabbing her arm once more. She held her firmly as their lips met again in a bruising kiss. "You can't just kiss me and walk away," Carrie said breathlessly.

"You can't just tell me you love me and leave on a plane," Kelly countered. She felt Carrie's lips on hers once more, hungrily searching for some kind of release.

"I had no choice," she argued as she felt Kelly spin them around, pushing her against the wall.

"You always have a choice," Kelly pointed out, leaning up to push herself against her. "There's always a choice," she whispered inches from her lips before pulling away.

Carrie all but growled in frustration as she backed Kelly into the opposite wall, "Would you rather me have not said I love you? It's not like that was the first time I said it."

"I would have rather you not have gone," Kelly replied, trying to ignore the pleasurable aching in her lower stomach as Carrie pinned her.

"Well maybe I would have rather you not have gone on tour," Carrie replied. "Ever think of that?"

"I couldn't have cancelled, you know that."

"You did it before," Carrie pointed out.

"That's not fair, and you know it," Kelly frowned. Carrie kissed her once more, not liking the sudden change from anger to sadness. She tugged on Kelly's hips, pulling her closer and felt the Texan moan against her mouth as their tongues collided.

"Damn it!" she exclaimed, pushing Carrie off.

"You do this every time," Kelly said, closing the distance between them. "Just when I start to think that maybe I'll be better off without you. Maybe that way I wouldn't have to go through all this. Here you come, waltzing back in."

"You know that's not true. You need me in your life. You already said that."

Kelly pulled Carrie's chin down, kissing her fully.

"But I never said that I wanted to need you," she whispered, pushing her away.

"No," Carrie replied with a smirk. "But you do need me," she said, going to kiss her, but Kelly turned her face away. Carrie just smiled at all the exposed skin before her as she started to lay hot, open mouthed kisses down her neck. She could actually feel Kelly trying to suppress the moan that was rising in the back of her throat as she rolled her hips against Carrie's. "And you do want me," Carrie continued, pulling away, much to Kelly's frustration. "So, I guess I just put the two together."

"You think you're something, don't you?" Kelly replied, making Carrie shiver at the look in her eyes. "But you see, the thing is. I'm used to having to do without the things that I want. I've done without them my whole life. What about you?" she asked, her hands slipping under Carrie's shirt. She could feel her muscles jumping beneath her touch and watched as Carrie's eyes rolled back as her hands rose. Her thumb traced the outline of Carrie's bra and the country singer let out a shaky breath. "I bet Daddy's little girl always got what she wanted," she smiled, pulling away. Carrie's head was still spinning too fast for her to comprehend the lack of touch, and by the time she did, Kelly had already walked to the back room, closing the door.

"We're not finished," Carrie said, opening the door, making Kelly stand from where she sat on the bed.

"I thought I was a tease," Kelly replied heatedly. "I was just living up to my name."

"You wanna change that?" Carrie breathed, reaching out for her.

++++++++

"You have no idea," Kelly replied, welcoming the kiss that was given her, returning it hungrily. It didn't take them long to maneuver themselves over to the bed with Carrie in Kelly's lap. Kelly's hands slipped under Carrie's shirt as the country singer pulled away, taking in a sharp breath. Kelly made her way to Carrie's collarbone, knowing that was her weak spot, and she could feel her start to shift on top of her. She quickly lifted Carrie's shirt off and over her head, pulling her to her for another searing kiss as her hands made their way behind her, unhooking her bra.

Kelly's hands were working on Carrie's belt when the country singer pulled them away. Kelly looked up at her confusedly.

"Now that's not fair," Carrie smiled, looking down at her half-naked body and then at Kelly's fully clothed one.

Kelly rolled her eyes, quickly taking off her shirt and tossing it to the side, then going back to Carrie's jeans.

"Hey," Carrie leaned forward, whispering in her ear. "Slow down baby."

Kelly looked up at her, feeling the nerves returning as Carrie shifted her position, cradling the back of Kelly's head as she kissed her, laying them down in the process. Finally satisfied when Kelly's fervent kisses slowed, she broke away just enough to be able to kiss her way across her jaw line. She could feel Kelly's shaking finger tips running over stomach and onto her back. Carrie visibly shivered as she felt her nails lightly graze down her skin.

It took all she had to concentrate on the task at hand as her lips found Kelly's skin, pausing when she felt the gentle pulsating of the vein running up Kelly's neck. She could feel it start to speed up as she kissed it firmly. Carrie was suddenly reminded of Kelly standing before her in worn out jeans and a black halter top, her lips pressed against Carrie's wrist, this innocent curiosity in her eyes.

Carrie pushed herself up enough to be able to look at the Texan beneath her. She was busy watching as her own hands trailed up and down Carrie's sides with much the same look as back then. Carrie was sure her heart was gonna explode as she leaned back down, kissing her firmly on the lips. Kelly moaned into her mouth as their two bodies pressed against each other, and Carrie started to think that maybe this going slow thing wasn't the way to do it. Her hand found the small of Kelly's back and pressed upward, rejecting any amount of space between them.

She could feel Kelly's breath growing ragged as she struggled for her own. Pretty soon, she wasn't even sure which way was up as Kelly's hands began to roam freely. Her own somehow managed to find their way to the waistband of Kelly's jeans, quickly unbuttoning them and with the help of the Texan, tossing them to the side.

"You've known me long enough not to be shocked," Kelly said huskily as Carrie looked down at her in amazement, thinking it was the commando thing.

"You're beautiful," Carrie breathed, her fingers tracing Kelly's hips.

Kelly swallowed hard, feeling her toes curl as Carrie's fingers slid down further. Carrie kissed her reassuringly as she took in a deep, shaky breath.

"You ok?" Carrie asked, worriedly.

"Just don't...stop," Kelly managed, her body arching into Carrie's.

Carrie pinned her hips down with her left hand, her lips moving their way down Kelly's body, kissing any and every inch of skin they could find. She could feel the muscles tightening under her mouth, and she looked to find Kelly's hands nearly white as she clenched the sheets beneath her. Hoping, that was a sign that she was doing something right, she slowly made her way back up Kelly's body.

"Kiss me," Kelly begged.

Carrie did as she was told, quickly finding Kelly's tongue battling with hers. If the girl kept kissing her like that, Carrie wasn't sure how long she'd last. She felt Kelly moan heavily into her mouth, and her own eyes rolled back. Kelly wrapped a leg around Carrie's, urging her on as the option of breathing became non existent, and she pulled away, struggling for air. Her brain, however, seemed to have stopped functioning, so she just gave up on it all together.

"God," she moaned as Carrie felt her entire body start to tremble beneath her. Kelly was sure she had died. It was probably the no breathing thing. What ever it was, there was no way it was possible to feel the amount of pleasure coursing through her veins anywhere other than heaven, right?

But as she heard Carrie whisper, "I love you," in her ear, slowly bringing her back down, she knew that it had been real, that it was real.

"I love you too," Kelly replied, her voice raspy and her breathing still ragged.

Carrie kissed her deeply, the thrill of finally hearing that phrase said back to her, setting her on the verge of tears.

"Hey," Kelly said gently as she cradled Carrie's face, her own eyes watering. "Shouldn't I be the one crying?"

"You are so amazing," Carrie replied, unable to hold back the tears.

Kelly pulled her down, kissing her lovingly as she flipped them over.

"Kell, you don't have to," Carrie insisted as the Texan straddled her.

"After what you just did to me?" Kelly smiled. "It would be a sin not to."

Carrie returned the smile as Kelly leaned down, kissing her fully as their tongues collided, starting her on one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
