"Don't move
It's only a breath or two
Between our lips."

"So, it's not a helicopter," Carrie determined as she sat on Kelly's bed while the two of them and Ashley tried to narrow it down to a final decision on the outfit Kelly would be wearing that night.
"Nope," Kelly laughed.
"I know...we're gonna parachute in."
"What's with you and aerial vehicles?"
"I don't know," Carrie shrugged. "A pumpkin carriage?"
"No," Kelly smiled. "But you're actually kinda close."
"A pineapple carriage?" Carrie asked, earning a hearty laugh from the Texan.
"So, one more time," Ashley said. "Tell me what you know."
"It's a sit down dinner, but it's semi-formal," Carrie replied robotically for the tenth time.
"How semi?"
"There's going to be a band."
"So, kinda like that Motorolla thing you did last year?" Ashley asked, turning to Kelly.
"Yea," she nodded. "But not quite so big, I think."
"I'd go with the short dress," Ashley said, eyeing the three choices carefully.
"I like the long one," Carrie commented.
"Too formal," Ashley shook her head. "What are you wearing?"
"A short one, but that long one is really pretty."
"I want the jeans," Kelly said.
"How'd that even slip into the choices in the first place?" Ashley asked, looking at her carefully.
Kelly just smiled innocently.
"No pants," Ashley said firmly.
"But there's going to be a band," she argued.
"But you're the ones being honored, so you have to dress like it."
"Fine," she sighed, folding her arms. "I'll wear the short one...but no heels."
"Oh, you're wearing the heels."
Carrie laughed, standing, "Well, now that we got that situated, I've got to be going so I can start getting ready. It's hell being beautiful, you know?"
Kelly laughed as Carrie hugged her.
"You'll look great," Carrie said, pulling back before moving to kiss her cheek.
Kelly did the same and they found themselves face to face inches apart. Carrie's breath caught in her throat, realizing just how close the two of them were to actually kissing each other. Kelly's cheeks turned a brilliant shade of red.
"Sorry," Carrie said, finally able to find her voice as she pulled back. "I was going for..." she pointed to Kelly's cheek.
"Y-yea, me too," Kelly smiled nervously.
Ashley laughed loudly, "Wow. If you could've seen your faces...that was priceless!"
It was now Carrie's turn to blush as the two of them laughed with her, relaxing, but not quite able to meet the other's eye.
