Hey y'all, sorry it's been so long, but i was really busy for a while there, and then I got stuck on this chapter. I know it's really short, and not really good, lol, but forgive me. I just couldn't get it to work, but hopefully now that i'm through with it, i should be back to updating regularly and up to my usual standard. so, enjoy.

"Mornin' beautiful," Kelly smiled from her spot where she sat on the edge of the stage, her feet kicking softly.

Carrie just smiled as she walked to her, hugging Kelly's legs and placing her head in her lap.

"Tired?" Kelly asked, running her finger's through the blonde's long hair.

"I think I actually slept too good--if that's possible," Carrie sighed in content at the warmth Kelly's contact seemed to bring.

"You up for a quick rehearsal?"

Carrie looked up at her and smiled. She was wearing a backwards baseball cap and a fitted t with jeans.

"You look adorable," she grinned.

"And back on planet earth," Kelly laughed. "You ready?"

"You really think this is a good idea? I mean, come on. Sweet Child? You're gonna kill me with that song, you know that, right?"

"Quit underestimating yourself," Kelly frowned.

"I'm not the one underestimating myself," Carrie pointed out.

"Get your country butt up here or you're sleeping on the sofa tonight," Kelly smirked.

"Yes ma'am," Carrie saluted before quickly making her way on to the stage.

"Okay y'all," Kelly smiled at the audience. "Now before we end this show, I have a little surprise for you."

She laughed as the crowd cheered loudly.

"You see, I have a friend hanging out with me on tour right now," she explained. "And I convinced her to come up here and do a duet with me."

Kelly turned to the side of the stage where she could see Carrie shaking her head. She rolled her eyes, turning back to the crowd.

"It seems she's a little nervous, so y'all give her a warm welcome," Kelly said as the crowd erupted in applause.

Kelly turned back to the side to see Carrie frozen to the spot. She shook her head, walking over to her.

"They aren't gonna bite, I promise," Kelly said into the mic, making the fans laugh. She interlaced her fingers with Carrie and gave her a reassuring smile before tugging her onto stage. As recognition flowed through the crowd, the cheers were nearly deafening. Kelly beamed with pride.

"Told you they'd like you," she whispered.

"Please, they'd do anything to make you happy," Carrie replied.

"So," Kelly smiled, turning back to the crowd. "How bout some music?"

As the audience cheered, Aben played the opening of the song, only to make the cheers grow louder.

Kelly started dancing along as the rest of the band joined in, making Carrie laugh.

"She's got a smile that it seems to me," Kelly began, facing the blonde country singer who was returning the beaming smile thrown her way.

"Reminds me of childhood memories,

Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky."

Kelly struggled not to laugh as Carrie started to sing, doing her best rocker impression.

"Now and then when I see your face,

It takes me away to that special place,

And if I stare too long,

I'll probably break down and cry."

She could hear the crowd growing crazy as they harmonized.

"Whoa, oh sweet child o' mine.

Whoa, oh oh oh, sweet love o' mine."

"She's got eyes of the bluest skies,

As if they thought of rain," Carrie sang, tugging Kelly towards her so she could actually look into those hazel orbs that she loved so much.

"I hate to look into those eyes,

And see an ounce of pain."

Kelly couldn't help but smile as she playfully tugged on one of Carries curls, earning a giggle from the country singer, "Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place,

Where as a child I'd hide.

And pray for the thunder and the rain,

To quietly pass me by-y."

Carrie had to remind herself as Kelly beamed up at her that they were in front of thousands of people because the energy that was radiating off of the shorter girl just made her want to take her in her arms and kiss her.

"Whoa, what a sweet child o' mine.

Oh, oh, oh, sweet love of mine."

Kelly laughed as the three guitarists walked to the front of the stage for the solo, hamming it up for the crowd.

"You know," Carrie whispered loudly in her ear as they took a step back. "I've never done it on a stage before."

"Done what?" Kelly asked, turning to her.

Carrie raised an eyebrow with a sly smile.

"Well, there's a first time for everything right?" Kelly smiled back widely.

Neither of them could concentrate as they finished the song with the crowd on their feet. Both Carrie and Kelly thanked them profusely as Carrie rushed off stage so Kelly could finish the concert.

"So," Carrie smiled as she straddled Kelly in the chair she was sitting in.

"So unfortunately, that will be a no go on the stage," Kelly frowned.

"Why?" she whined.

"Because," Kelly smiled at the adorable pout. "They already started to take it down, and security would never let us stay there by ourselves. Too much of a risk."

"So?" Carrie shrugged. "They could watch."

"And while I'm sure, they'd love that, we'd have one hell of a time keeping them quiet about it, don't you think?"

"So? Maybe it's time for everybody to know."

"Care," Kelly smiled gently, pushing a curl behind her ear. "Your parents don't even know."

"I know," she frowned slightly.

"And I'm not saying you have to tell them yet or anything, it's not that," Kelly assured her.

"But this whole time you've been going through hell with your mom for us, but I've been too chicken to even tell my parents. It's not fair to you," Carrie replied.

"I don't want you to tell them until your ready. I just, well, I just kinda want to meet them," Kelly admitted nervously.

"You want to meet my parents?" Carrie asked, a giggle escaping.

"Well...yea," she shrugged. "I mean, I wanna see where you come from, where you grew up. I wanna see what made you into this amazing person you are today."

"Well, a lot of what made me this "amazing" person I am today, is you," Carrie smiled, earning a slight frown from the Texan. "But, I'd love to take you home with me."

"Really?" Kelly beamed.

"Of course," she smiled back. "It will be a little while before that happens though. I mean, you have the tour and I have promotion, but as soon as we get a break, Oklahoma here we come."

"Yay," Kelly cheered, leaning forward and kissing her happily.

"I love making you happy," Carrie admitted, placing a soft hand on her cheek, watching as Kelly's eyes danced with excitement, a slight blush rising from the comment she had just made.

"I love you," Kelly smiled, this time, pulling her to her as she kissed her a little firmer than before.

"Ahem," a fake cough came, causing the two to break apart. "Sorry to interupt the love fest," Ashley said, entering the dressing room. "But Kelly's got a meet and greet."

"Oh, yea," Kelly said in sudden realization.

Carrie laughed, kissing her once more, before climbing off of her, "Love you too. Have fun."

"See you on the bus?"

"Count on it," Carrie winked, laughing as Ashley made a fake gagging motion.
